Fantastic place with friendly and helpful owners - everything's been thought of. The 2 cabins are well equiped, clean and very comfortable. There's several different places set up in the shade with seating, fireplaces and sinks/taps. Lots of good camping sites. Highly recommended - we'll be back!

We had a wonderful time camping out there! We’re a pretty experienced and self reliant daddy/daughter camping team…. Lisa was a lovely, friendly host- her sites offer some really nice, shady and sheltered positions and a few little bush walks that we enjoyed exploring. It’s also close enough to civilisation (without it being obvious) that we were able to duck out for a bit and see what else was in the area. Thanks for having us, Lisa! We’ll be back again soon!

Really nice spot! Sandy & Janette provided really good info on the local area. Instructions were easy to follow. The spot itself was really nice by the lake. Heaps of birds cruising about, happy horses & a friendly pup that came to say hi a couple of times. You also feel well out in the country but are still super close to shops and local attracations. We will definitely be back.

My favourite Hipcamp site that we’ve stayed at!! Jim is a legend and very accommodating :) camping spot was great, it drizzled most of the time we were there but the site seems to drain well and it didn’t get boggy/soggy. Composting toilet was very clean and worked well, and Jim topped up our drinking water when we needed. Good distance from other campers and it was lovely to wake up to all the bird sounds. Can’t wait to come back again, thanks Jim!

Large flat sites, each campsite is a decent gap away from the other. Host provided toilets on some sites. Lots of wonderful bird life. Easy to find and easy to setup camp due to flat mowed campsites. Host very nice and great to deal with. We will be back!

Beautiful campsite with plenty of shaded areas. A lovely forest at the back of the property to wander around in. Also the location of the Bunyip gives easy access to the national parks in the area. Lisa is easy going and very helpful. The amenities are in my view to rustic. Definitely worth staying a few nights.

Located at Mandalong, a small rural community near the town of Morisset and west of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. The established green 112 acre equine property has the Watagan Mountains as the backdrop. We are approximately 5 minutes off the M1 Motorway and 1 hour drive north of Sydney. Whilst on property it’s a buzz of horse life and there are many horses in the paddocks that will be curious to see you and hang over the fence for a nice little scratch. You will notice an abundance of wildlife that will be around; lovely birds, kangaroos and wallabies and if you are lucky the local deer might call in either early mornings or on dusk. Plus of a night time stop and look up into the lovely night sky while listening to the abundance of frogs, crickets and other noises that come alive. If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick! While you are on the property and if you want to be apart of any extra activities you see please don’t hesitate to ask. If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. Download the National Park App and it will give you all the info.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie. La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway. Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away. Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents. Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car. Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car. This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

There is plenty to do in the Morisset area including visiting the pretty Gap Creek Falls in the Watagans National Park or kayaking around beautiful Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more. Set on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, which has the bush in its backyard. Find a patch of shade for a picnic in Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area where you can spot kangaroos and other wildlife. We purchased the property in mid 2021 to have an escape from city life. We have two active young children and I like to build and tinker. We now want to allow others to also have an escape into the tranquillity. The farm is not a productive farm as such, its a hobby farm, but that is what we call it. Tranquillity in a rural setting. Camp in our field and unwind. Only 8 min from the Pacific Mwy and 10 min from Morisset shops, is this beautiful parcel of land. Just 1hr drive from Sydney, 1.5hr from the CBD. The property backs onto Olney State Forest and has abundant wildlife. Several groups of wallabies are regulars, kookaburras have their nest in the trees, a few wombat holes are scattered around and deer have been seen on the property. There is only about 6 acres of cleared land and the remainder is untouched bush. Sawpit Creek is a seasonal creek which supports an abundant ecosystem. The area benefits from short commutes to local beaches, the lake and rural countryside. There are plenty of attractions and tourist destinations. We are currently only setup to cater for self-contained campers so you need to bring your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water. We do not have any facilities to offer. Please bring what you need and take with you what you bring. The paddock is level land. 4WDs are recommended to access the field, it gets a bit muddy after rain. Although there is one high spot near the bush driveway that seems to stay firm. Your furry family members are welcome to join you.
