200 acres of scenic farm paddocks with seasonal creek, and forested hills adjoining the Bournda National Park. See kangaroos, wallabies and wombats and if you are lucky an echidna or deer! Horses also live here and are separate from the camping area. We accept only a small number of campers to ensure everyone has a few acres each and peace and quiet to enjoy the natural surroundings. Sites are generally more secluded as go from 1 to 10. All sites are walking distance to a composting toilet. Showers are near the entry to the camping areas of the farm, behind the green water tank. Good phone reception everywhere. Dogs welcome. They can go off leash if supervised during the day. No loud music. No loud parties. No motorbikes. No generators. Such a wonderful campsites with incredible views! My partner and I stayed at spot that was for 4WD only and we have 360 views of the valley and it all to ourselves which was great. Greg wasn’t there but was very helpful snd friendly over the phone. We had a lovely time staying there

What an amazing place and vibe! Greg is a very welcoming and helpful host, and his farm is absolutely gorgeous. Each of the tent sites is beautiful and has lots of space. I stayed at the Fig tree campsite, which was pretty and had a swing. The nearby creek is amazing to go for a cool-down dip. The amenities are basic but all you need, it’s exactly as shown in the pictures! Hope to return someday. :)

Had a great 3 night stay with a group of 10. the area is large with lots of flat areas, so lots of room to spread out. Lost of grass and fishing toilets. The river access is fantastic with lots of areas to swim...there is a steep hill from the front gate down to the campsite. A 2WD can do it up and down with car in the dry. In the wet a 2WD might ha e trouble. 4WD would have no problems in the wet or dry. Highly recommend this campsite.

Stayed for a couple nights and had an amazing time - super peaceful, gorgeous property that offered a nice retreat away in the countryside. Greg was super lovely, giving us a ride around the property to see where we’d best like to stay and gave us our privacy while also making sure we had everything we needed! Couldn’t recommend it enough

28 nights at Merimbula Camping

I had a wonderful stay at Merimbula Camping. The bush scenery was lovely and the wombats were hilarious and cute. They liked my caravan and used it as a backscratcher at various times in the night. I then put solar lights around so they mostly stayed away. I loved seeing them in the paddock each night - gentle and quiet. There are many other spacious and beautiful sites with drum fireplaces. The toilets were fine. Hot showers available up at the house. Excellent location just out of town . Water available (bring jerries) on site but you can also get it near town on the Bega Rd out. Dump point available in Pambula a few kms away. Great camping - I’ll be back Meredith !

Weekend Trip to Jila Camp Grounds

Jila Campground is a very pretty campground - beautiful tall gum trees with the Grose River flowing through it. Lots of space for everyone - a couple of days we were there before the w/e & after and our party of 3 vans had the place to ourselves which was a lovely bonus. We didn't get time to use the Kayaks which was a shame but the grandchildren loved playing in the sand and shallow water of the river. The soccer field is great and was well used throughout the w/e. Kids also enjoyed the cows and sheep wandering through the campsite. Things to be mindful of is the gravel road in is quite steep and rough so if towing a caravan or campervan a 4WD is definitely required. Great to having flushing toilets but there are no lights connected in the toilet block we were near and that will be good when that work is completed, in the meantime don't forget to take a torch and you need to check that there is loo paper in there before rushing in! It was nice to meet our host Phil who was clearing our campground of the inquisitive cows and sheep.

I stayed for one night with my partner after reading the great reviews, and it was absolutely the right choice. Greg, the owner of the farm, is such a lovely person, he made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He even took us in his car to see the mountain and the cows, and he was incredibly hospitable and attentive throughout our stay. We had a wonderful night, with incredible views and so much peace. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful camping spot! We even got to meet kangaroos up close, which made the trip unforgettable. The beach was right in front of the campsite, offering stunning views and the perfect place to relax. The facilities were clean and had all the amenities we needed. Weekend Trip to Jila Camp Grounds

Camping at Jila Campgrounds was an experience. The mountain-perched site with river frontage is perfect, lovely for kayaking or just unwinding by the water. They provide toilets and showers, which makes things comfortable. The campground feels very safe, even for solo campers, and it’s pet-friendly so Kyoto was happy exploring. One great thing: there’s no reception or mobile signal, which is ideal if you want to disconnect. Just make sure you save all your important notes offline before you arrive. The owner was super helpful. When our car broke down, he helped us get it working again. That kind of support made a big difference. A word of caution: during a short but heavy rain with strong wind, a nearby car was struck by a falling tree. It’s wise to camp a little distance from large trees if the weather turns. Overall, I really like this place: mountain views, riverside calm, and a helpful owner. It’s about an hour from us, and we’d definitely go back.

Loved the location, the river was beautiful and really enjoyed the facilities. I personally think the drive in with a trailer on the back is a 4wd road, not just because it's steep and bumpy but my 2wd was too low. Once in we had a fantastic time and appreciated being allowed to use the neighbours drive to leave from. Thanks for having us!
