The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding. ICE: Bring your own ice WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation. Please DO NOT dig toilet hole, even though you leave it covered, it doesn't take long for the foxes to dig it up and leave a real mess!! Campfires permitted in designated areas. There is plenty to do and see at this hipcamp which was awarded to be one of the best hipcamps in NSW for 2024, and Australia wide for 2025! Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, local strawberry and tomato picking, and 4WDing at nearby beaches and through Cairncross State Forest. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. T.J Wilson We have 3 remote sites and 3 dispersed sites and the property is six kilometers from Dalgety township which is situated on the “Snowy River” NSW. We are located 30 minutes drive south east of Jindabyne and 40 minutes drive south west of Cooma. There is a flush toilet and fresh drinking water is available at our dispersed sites. Caravans can easily be filled up via garden hose and if you are staying on one of the remote sites this can be done easily prior to settling in. We have a mowed loop track giving easy access from each site to stroll to the top of the hill, walk the dog or enjoy the 360 degree views. Take a picnic in the evening or just a glass of wine and watch the sunset from the top of the hill. After dark, relax and toast some marshmallows over the fire pit and discuss what you are going to do the next day. The land was originally once a part of "Marranumbla Homestead". I have called it home since 1995 and now share it with my partner Phillip, our son, Danish the Whippet, Murphy the Malshi, Myonie the Moodle and Finley the cat. The house yard only had 2 trees when I bought it and the house built originally in 1980 still needed completing on the inside. I have worked hard to create an extensive garden in a sometimes harsh environment. It's our peaceful part of the "Snowy Monaro", the property being 155 acres in total. A great place to wander and breath in the fresh air. In Dalgety township you can have a meal and catch up with a local at the "Buckley's Crossing Hotel" or take a walk around the show ground, town and along the river reserve where you can have a swim and relax on the riverbank and view the historic Dalgety Bridge circa 1888 across the Snowy River. Then come back in the evening to look for platypus when they come out to play. Visit the local 'Snowy Vineyard and Microbrewery' incorporating the 'Dalgety Brewing Company' situated approximately 10km north of the town on the Snowy River or have lunch at 'Tuscany in Dalgety' 2km to the west of town. Take a trip to Jindabyne which is half an hours drive to the west, walk round the lake, visit the 'Jindabyne Brewery', great food, beer, cider and wine or the many other restaurants and cafes in town. Spend some time at the 'Snowy Region Visitor Centre' and the 'Gaden Trout Hatchery' or catch your own trout in the lake or at the 'Eucumbene Trout Farm'. Travel beyond into the mountains and Kosciusko National Park to Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlottes Pass. Explore the many walks in the national park including the walk to the top of Mt Kosciusko. Visit the 'Wild Brumby Distillery' enjoy some European fare and locally crafted Schnapps, Gin, Vodka or Gluhwein. Take a day trip through Adaminaby to 'Yarrangobilly Caves and Thermal Pool' in the northern end of Kosciusko National Park, picnic, swim and tour the caves. Visit the "Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre and Café in Cooma and learn the history of the scheme. The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and a one of a kind immersive theatre. You will find information about the Scheme such as engineering, the environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation. Make it your base camp while enjoying all that the winter season has to offer and lets not forget the skiing and snow boarding of course. Well that's just a sample of some of the things you can do but if all that sounds like too much, just put your feet up and have a rest at your campsite!! P.S. The annual Dalgety Show is held on the first Sunday in March every year and did you know that Dalgety was one of the sites considered for our country's capital. Telstra 4G coverage on the property, limited Optus coverage.

The property is private and suitable for self-sufficient campers only; you must provide your own toilet and take all rubbish with you. Access & Equipment The site is accessible by 2WD, but 4WD is recommended if you are towing or if there has been recent rain. Yarrawin is 680 acre cattle farm and hardwood timber plantation in the heart of the Nambucca Valley, offering scenic, secluded, private campsites with their own swimming hole and a river gravel beach on 3km of beautiful double river frontage. Camping options include riverside camps, the Shack and riverside camp and a large secluded valley. Each campsite is separate from the others, giving guests privacy and exclusive use of the swimming hole (except Chinamans Valley) at their site. All riverside sites offer a natural gravel beach entry into the water. There are no amenities here, campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace. Every site has a fire pit which must be used for campfires. If you want to use your own it must be off the ground. Only sand mats or similar, NO TARPS, to be set up on the grassed areas to preserve the grass. Firewood $20/night (CASH ONLY PLEASE). Please let us know in advance if you want firewood. Beautiful drinking rain water is available in a 20lt Jerry can if required on arrival. Bird lovers can enjoy watching the various bird varieties, as well as ducks. Animals include wallabies, goannas, deer and fish as well as cattle and stock horses. Fishing is okay but it is STRICTLY catch and release ONLY. There are many places to go bushwalking, either following the river or heading up the valleys or hiking up the hills through the trees. The property is just 10kms from the convenience of Bowraville, a historic township with a supermarket, folk museum, a war museum, a historic theatre, and other historic buildings. Nambucca Heads and the beautiful surrounding beaches are just 27kms east and Coffs Harbour 80kms away. Please note this is a working farm, so there will be cattle and stock horses on the property that may approach your campsite.

The photos don’t do it justice…. What a magnificent spot just 10 mins outside of Bulahdelah. Tranquil location smothered in such a welcoming camping location. Chooks and a lovely friendly stumpy tail catle dog named Ruby. Kellie and Rod were perfect host and got to see them putting on a big group camping trip with Xmas in July being themesd. What efforts she showcased with the decorating. So impressed. Wife and I have a 18 month old and the spit set up for younger family with a little fold land set up outside kitchen area right and close to the 2x chooks yards. My son was enthralled with some pats of the chooks and a an albino rabbit named mis Molly. Wish I found this earlier… we’ll be back Kellie & Rod, thanks for sharing your slice of paradise with us. We were looking for a quick one-night escape and honestly couldn’t have picked a better place. Kellie and Rod were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The whole place has such a peaceful feel to it. We loved wandering the nature walk, the amenities were really clean, and the shared space/kitchen were awesome. You can tell Kellie/Rod put their whole heart into this place. And of course, Ruby, the friendly, cheese-loving dog was a warm welcome! Such a special place to switch off and relax. The bathroom was excellent. I saw a number of dolphins in the river. Hosts were great. At night I could hear what sounded like a highway but was apparently the ocean. Lots of birds I hadn't seen before. I stayed during winter so most of the grass remained waterlogged so I could hear the roos go slop slop instead of hop hop when they went through the nearby runnel. However, it wasn't too cold and I was able to sleep without the door of the tent down and during the day it got quite warm. Very close to town, so don't need to cook all your meals camp style.

🍃 Our Camp Trailer's Maiden Voyage 🚐✨ Every great adventure has to begin somewhere... and for us, that place was Our Kindred Acres at Bombah Point, NSW. Just 10 minutes from Bulahdelah for those inevitable snack runs, coffee top ups and forgotten essentials, this beautiful camping retreat turned out to be the perfect place to give our new camp trailer its very first shakedown. Whether you're completely self-sufficient, travelling with a caravan or camper, or prefer the comfort of a cabin, there's something here for every kind of adventurer. Ideal for back to nature fun for little ones too. The property features a huge communal fire pit, a welcoming camp kitchen and gathering shed, peaceful walking trails, and plenty of room to simply slow down and breathe. One of my favourite parts? The dogs were free to explore off lead. Our dachshunds had an absolute ball sniffing every tree, discovering new scents and reminding us that happiness really can be found in the simplest moments. 🐾💜

Weekend Trip to The Hatch Farm - Port Macquarie

We stayed at Hatch Farm for two nights, and it was easily one of the best camping trips we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, Bernard and Susan made us feel incredibly welcome. They were fantastic hosts, and Bernard even took the time to share some local fishing advice—which definitely came in handy! 😂 The property is immaculately maintained. You can tell Bernard and Susan take enormous pride in the campground, and it shows in every part of the property. Everything is neat, clean and exceptionally well looked after. We couldn’t have asked for better weather: beautiful sunny days followed by heavy rain at night. Thankfully, our campsite had a great shelter that kept us dry and made the evenings just as enjoyable. A special mention has to go to Jack, Sally and Boo—the three beautiful Border Collies who roam the property. They were such a highlight of our stay and seemed to adopt us for the weekend. Jack even slept beside our swag each night, which made the experience even more memorable. We genuinely can’t recommend Hatch Farm highly enough. Between the incredible hospitality, the peaceful surroundings, the immaculate grounds and the friendly four-legged welcoming committee, it’s a place we’ll definitely be returning to. Thank you, Bernard and Susan, for such a wonderful stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice outlook to Chester the horse’s paddock and views beyond. Beautiful Mystery bay down the road. Lovely Colin greeted us and checked in on us a few times, gave us some suggestions of places to go. We were there in June (site9) in the middle and had the whole place to ourselves which was nice. There is a road running along the camp but we found the local traffic and minimal. Didn’t disturb us at night at all.
