Near and Far Yamba is on an exclusive riverside private property, located 10 mins drive from Yamba NSW. If you like the quiet and being away from the mob in a rural area, you will enjoy this out of the ordinary property. If you’re an early riser you will see wonderful sunrises over the river, plenty of kangaroos, birds, jumping mullet, maybe a dolphin or sea eagle. The owners large homestead is visible, they are happy to share their property and surrounds as offered. CAMPSITES: 2 Exclusive spacious separate camp sites near the river - Cubby Waterfront site, space for group 1-3 Caravans, tents, campers, coasters etc . Mango Tree River View Site space for group 1- 2 Caravans, campers. SKIPPY Bush Camp 2 open field - short Stay for self contained ensuite caravans only. Not riverfront, tap water only, no other facilities. All sites - Leave no trace, means take your rubbish away. 3km all weather private road. A secluded private property with open spaces, unfenced river and canals, farm animals and wildlife close by. Kangaroos are regularly around the buildings, in the yard and can be grazing up to the door at night. Town water, grid power, Telstra WIFI is available in the area but not provided. Dog friendly, secure yard available if required.

A large tidal waterfront camp /caravan site usually drive in/out, not suited to very wet conditions. Just the one group in this area, room for 2-3 caravans Max 8ppl in the same group. Base price is for 2ppl. Town water, 50m to flush toilet. One 10/15 amp power plug. Riverside picnic table and chairs to watch the birds. No fires Oct-April. Brazier fire ok off bushfire season May-Sept. Play/sleep in the cubby, single bed, BYO bedding, no screens, small at 1.9m x 2.2m. Salt water river, strong tidal flow, suit confident kayakers and paddle boarders, byo dinghy, NOT a regular boat ramp.  Supervised off leash dogs ok during the day, on tether at night. Min stay will apply over Easter/Xmas. Leave no trace means take your rubbish with you.

Mango Tree site is a family friendly spot suitable for a small to med caravan, 1-2 camper trailers, tent. Shower, toilet, with external access at the nearby homestead. Reasonably private, peaceful position. Situated on the flood mound about 30m back from the river or at the river front if ground conditions allow. NO fires Oct-April, May- Sept brazier fire if weather permits. Near trees, farmland, enjoy the great river view and bird life, watch the tide come and go on the mudflat. Grid 15 amp or 10 amp power, town water. Suit confident Kayakers and paddle boarders, strong tidal flow. Supervised off leash dogs ok during the day, on tether at night, lots of roos in the yard. Fenced yard avail if required. Riverside picnic table. Suit tent, roof top, camper, van.

Unpowered sites suitable for short stays, - leave no rubbish - no dump for cassettes with chemicals. No fires during fire season Oct- Mar. Fresh water tap, cold shower, composting toilet. Pleasant outlook with views over acres of wetlands area, birdlife, kangaroos. Off private road, varying distances 50-100m. Unfenced waterways. Supervised dogs ON LEASH or spend the whole time looking for your dog. Bury your dog poo. No access to the river from this property. Check in before 9pm NSW time. We have no control over the council maintenance of the dirt/gravel road. It will be bumpy from time to time. Read the rule about fires.

We had a relaxing 2 nights at the Skippy Campsite on Micalo Island. Our hosts were lovely and also very knowledgeable about the area. The birdlife here is incredible, the kangaroos are in abundance and are well fed (they’re as big as Red Kangaroos - but very placid and avoid contact). Our dogs loved swimming in the water channels. There’s plenty of shade if required and the area is generally flat.

What a beautiful, tranquil place to stay. Lots of kangaroos and birdlife to watch and a lovely grassy area to set up camp. We stayed for three nights over a long weekend and had the entire place to ourselves. It was great for our curious toddler with minimal hazards to worry about, and lots to explore. Jo and Allen were very responsive and helpful. We will be back!

Highly recommend this hicamp. The location is quiet and the property is large. On a kangaroo farm and was a joy seeing them everyday and early morning. Very relaxing time there and would go back.

Waterfront Camp Site up to 3 CVans
I was very lucky to have the pleasure of staying at this beautiful campsite, what more could you want? Waterfront site with power and water for caravans . We did lots of fishing going into Yamba which is only a stone throw away. It was definitely near enough but far enough away . the Owner of the property are absolutely lovely, Jan even gave the children that were staying with us a going away gift of two handmade kangaroos toys. I would highly recommend this this hip camp spot if you want to relax and just chill out?

We had the most wonderful stay here while I passing through. The hosts were absolutely amazing—so welcoming, thoughtful, and helpful, which really made the experience extra special. The river view was simply stunning and incredibly peaceful, the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway and morning swim. The facilities were flawless, with everything we needed and more. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress-free escape.

We absolutely loved staying at this property. The sunset was magical and the stars were amazing. Sleeping among the kangaroos was also a real treat. If you do stay, be sure to bring bug spray as we got eaten alive.

Fantastic spot, easy to find and absolutely ideal location for us as we headed up the east coast. Dave had a fire made for us when we arrived and the scenery was idyllic, and waking up to being surrounded by roos was very special!

We had a lovely 3 days here. Unfortunately due to having had a lot of rain the area was wet and there were a lot of mozzies. We were offered a site closer to the house and given plenty of firewood which worked a treat. The hosts were lovely and we had a nice chat sitting beside the river. We would recommend the river site camp spots.

What a fabulous spot! Hosts were excellent, kept their distance but checked in for any concerns. Directions were clear. Location was second to none with river views, fish abundant, dolphins swimming by. Beautiful grassy level sites, facilities were excellent including a dog off lead run area if you want to go into down/explore without pooch. Only 10 minutes to Yamba where all the sardine caravan parks are, what a special time we had at Jan and Allen's. Recommend visiting Yamba farmers market Wednesdays, and doing close day trips to Iluka, Maclean and Angourie.

This would have to be the best Hipcamp site we’ve ever stayed at Jan & Allan were great hosts We even had our own private bathroom facilities We were offered power and water ( we didn’t need as we’re self sufficient in that department) The kangaroos and bird life were abundant And water views well they were on your doorstep and we were only 10 minutes from Yamba township We will be back

We loved it and look forward to coming back for a bit longer next time. Beautiful scenery, flat, mowed, wildlife and just stunning spot. Our first night was a bittersweet, with inconsiderate camping neighbours while they were far enough away we weren’t in view they played loud music until 11pm. I ended up messaging Jan as I had enough, Jan and Al drove down within 10min! I was blown away by their prompt action to help us enjoy the peace and quiet you expect off grid camping. They also lit a fire where it was clearly signed no fires. Just troublemakers unfortunately and not Jan or Al’s fault. The next day and nights we had to our selves and could really enjoy the space and kangaroos. We had a wonderful stay
