Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Our 40 acre property is home to four quiet, secure, exclusive river front sites on the mighty Clarence River. Boating, fishing and crabbing literally at your doorstep. And it's just a 15 minute drive into the towns of Yamba and Maclean. The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet. Please note: Sites 1 and 2 are available for booking up to 3 months in advance. Sites 3 and 4 are only open for for booking up to 1 week in advance as long as the ground isn't too wet. Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos, keep your eyes peeled and you may see the resident white kangaroo, Migaroo. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is 100-200 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

We’re Back
The tranquility here is unmatched. The peace is only shattered at night by the sound of fish jumping in the Clarence River literally at our doorstep. The mobs of kangaroos including the albino kangaroo are not shy should you wish to say hi and take a photo. Being return campers, we knew that to stay longer we would need to devise a water solution as there is no water available here on site. I acquired a potable drinking water bladder which was easily filled in Yamba or Maclean and then just pumped into out caravan. The sunrises and sunsets make the little effort all the more reason. Lovely to have met Zoe and Glen. We noticed the improvements since our last visit in the site and riverbank protection. Planning our next visit.

Amazing!!
This Hip Camp is amazing!! Gorgeous views of country side and river. Extremely well kept and clean. Very large sites offer good privacy. Fishing was fantastic!! Off grid but easy. Loved the campfire area. This was our first Hip Camp experience and it has set the bar high! Thank you so much to our lovely hosts whom checked in on us. We will definitely be back when we travels through Palmers Island again.

Riverside Rest was perfect!
Excellent. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Lovely quiet location but only 10 mins into town. The sites are surrounded by paddocks of friendly cows. We saw kangaroos, bandicoots, possums and plenty of birds. No bugs, mozzies or flies but we were there in June, summer might be different. Gorgeous sunsets. Site 1 was perfect. We enjoyed the fire pit under a star lit sky. Thanks Glenn and Zoe, we loved it.

Camping and fishing
Loved camping at riverside rest. Right on the river grass to water’s edge. Could put kayak in. Highly recommend.
