We loved camping at Patch's Beach! We saw so much wildlife and were even lucky enough to see bioluminescence as we stayed on a moonless night in mid September! Couldn't recommend more :)

As per other reviews, this is one of the most beautiful places you can ever have the privilege to stay at. It is simply stunning. Exquisitely private with the sound of birds, surf and nothing more than the very rare sugar cane tractor - pure serenity and relaxation. Huge open space with lots of options to set up camp pending wind and weather. Sadly someone camping there prior to us had ignored the owners requests and had lit a fire and left broken glass, stubbie lids and small amounts of rubbish. It is so disappointing to believe that some humans can be so ignorant and vile to treat such a beautiful natural environment like they did. This is a place that needs to be treasured.

Beautiful ocean view and beach access camp ground. The sound of the waves are so relaxing to fall asleep to. It was disappointing to see that people before us had not followed the rules and had a fire, there was also some glass in the fire and bottle top lids, We did our best to pick up what we could. If other people are willing to open up their land to you, then we should all be respecting the rules.

We loved the Absolute beachfront campsite and will be back. We saw whales from the campsite. The birdlife was great. The instructions to get there and enter the property were spot on. Thank you Michael for having us, we will be back.

Loved the remoteness and privacy of this camp. Would certainly visit again, would be a 10/10 if camp fires are allowed

Great private and clean spot. Short walk to beach with a fair drop onto the beach due erosion but made all the more fun. Good swimming but need to be careful as it is remote. Was well worth it.

Great private campsite, the site itself is perfect for camping with lots of flat ground to set up and a stunning view of the waves crashing. The only downside is the campsite fire ban. Not sure if this is a temporary thing but when checking the local government website there was no fire ban in place during the time I stayed there, Check in was easy with well written instructions.
Will definitely be booking again in the future

Completely exclusive waterfront camp-site!
We enjoyed the resident willie wagtail, goanna & soaring sea eagles.
Recent cyclone has eroded the beach access to a cliff edge however tranquillity & serenity under gorgeous stars a huge tick..

Thank you so much Michael. We love the spot, second time that we camp on the camping area.
Instructions were spot on, camp area very clean. Most beautiful nights watching the stars. So quite in the morning, only hearing bird songs. We have 3 daughters between 20 and 26 and they absolutely love the spot breaking away from city life. We will be back.

What a lovely spot, We will definitely be back.
The track to get in wasn't an issue at all. We were towing a 16ft off grid caravan and got to the site fine.
The site had spots of soft sand but manageable to go around the site to get a good spot.
Path to the beach is over grown but can make your way down and back.
We love that we got to lock the gate when we left for a few hours. It was awesome to have some extra security when exploring Ballina and other suburbs nearby.

Beautiful spot! Definitely not as difficult to get to as other reviewers have posted! Yes the walk to the beach is a bit of a trek, it is a bit of a rough part of the ocean too so take care. We were a bit u lucky with jelly fish not sure if that was just our luck or if they are always there. Other then that it's a lovely spot

First of all I will say it is an incredible spot and the beach itself is absolutely fabulous. It's a 5 minute walk from the campsite and you do have to bush bash through some scrub to get there but so worth it.
Unfortunately we had a couple of issues that turned our absolute beachfront experience into a bit of a nightmare.
The first challenge was all 3 of our GPS's didn't work out there (2 with Telstra), and Dugungully rd isn't marked. We arrived at dusk (around 7PM) and called for support and Kate was as helpful as she could be but admitted she has never been to the site and couldn't really give us much help or directions and couldn't get through to the owner.
A helpful farmer down one of the roads told us we were on the right road and told us the way to go, and said many people who attend this campground get lost because of these reasons.
Then when we arrived at the site, it wasn't clearly marked where to go and even though we have 4 wheel drive, we accidentally drove into a big soft sand area and got immediately bogged. I wished we had some warning or direction to avoid this.
We tried many ways to get out and even went into town the next day and got recovery tracks. They didn't work.
The NRMA wouldn't come out for off road support so we had to go through our insurance and eventually had a 4 wheel drive tow truck get us out.
There needs to be better signage, especially around the soft sand with a warning notice.
We'd hate for this to happen to others.

Lovely View but for me that was about it. Very overgrown access to both the site and the beach.
Unfortunately I found it overpriced for what it was but communication was good and the instructions on how to access etc very good.
Again, not our cup of tea but can see the appeal for other people.

What an amazing beautiful spot. We loved our 2 nights listening to surf daily and having place to ourselves. Million dollar views. An adventure to beach along track but certainly doable. Even our 4 year old got through it. Hopefully, this will be a place we return to in the years ahead. Just brilliant.

We loved our stay - so peaceful and quiet. Lovely site close to the beach. Access is easily found and we took our caravan up the slight hill without any problems. Ground was sandy but compact after an overnight shower. Beach access was possible but very overgrown and difficult at places. Great place to soak up the ocean sound and enjoy the peacefulness.

Beautiful spot and very quiet. Nice and relaxing listening to the waves break in the distance.
Beach access is very hard to get to and walk through. Wouldn’t take young kids through there, it was difficult.
Great spot up on the hill and could sit back and watch the whales jumping

Perfect spot for self contained campers with a great view of the ocean. Excellent spot for birdwatching and anyone camping around September/October will be in a prime location to watch the humpbacks heading down to feeding grounds in the southern ocean with their new-born calves.
