Discover 528 acres of Wollumbin paradise. McKenzies Mountain is run by a sixth generation pioneer family, and boasts a kilometer of river frontage, four kilometers interspersed with waterfalls and rockpools, over a hundred acres of pristine rainforest, and a 2000 ft elevation mountain peak. Plus it's home to 125 head of cattle. It's simply a magical country camping spot. There is plenty to do, including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and crystal fossicking. Just next door, within walking distance, is the Hare Krishna farm, where they run Hare Krishna farm tours, workshops, and Yoga retreats. Each camping area has been chosen to ensure space and privacy for all guests, good access and lovely views.

The place was okay for paddock camping overall. Before arriving, I called the host to ask about privacy and was told the property was around 500 acres, so we could pick any spot and camp comfortably. However, it turned out that there wasn’t even close to 100 acres of usable camping space, and the area was quite overcrowded. I understand it was Easter and more people are out camping, which is exactly why I called ahead—to confirm there would be enough space and to get a clear idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. We even ended up having a disagreement with a neighbouring camp (nothing serious), but it definitely impacted the experience. A bit more honesty upfront would have been appreciated. At the end of the day I guess it’s book in as much group as possible to get $$$ and not think about the experience for the campers .

Our first visit to McKenzie's Mountain. For such a busy Easter weekend, James did a terrific job tending to all his guests. Plenty of space for everyone. The river is lots of fun for the whole family including the dogs. We will definitely be back again.

The property is stunning! Very well maintained sites and overall we enjoyed our stay. However, if you’re looking for something secluded & peaceful, this ain’t it. The road on the other side of the creek is busy into the night so you get the sounds of regular passing cars. Sites are also established very close together so there is very little privacy if the place is booked up (which it certainly was this weekend) Otherwise it’s a great spot.

Peaceful, relaxing, joining with nature. The creek with the rapids was just what we needed to finish off our day. Nothing glamorous, you are out camping, you want high end go to city motel.. The water in the creek is warm time of year,great for swimming. I managed to get a couple of buttons of drinking water from there too....which is lucky as I was passing thru Nimbin on my way back to Lismore and they are having water troubles,but I had a fresh supple of the most deliciouse water. I stayed for 3 nights at the property and had a good nights sleep every night.

My kids loved this place! The river with all the little fish and turtles were a big hit. We were 3 families camping all together at Tea Tree and had the best time. Make sure you bring your own firewood, water shoes and kayaks or paddle boards.

We had a beautiful, relaxing weekend at McKenzie’s Mountain. The paddock was luscious and green, lined with trees and meticulously mowed. There were quite a few other campers but the property is so large that privacy wasn’t an issue at all! The stunning creek was a huge hit with both the adults and kids. We spent the majority of our time swimming, kayaking and soaking up the beautiful scenery. We can’t wait to go back again soon!

The views were stunning and there was plenty of sites available. Portaloos weren't as bad as I expected for a long weekend, but I'd bring a back up roll just incase. The creek was so refreshing in the summer sun, and there fish in there too which was entertaining
