The peace and tranquillity and spectacular scenery make this the ideal place to relax and unwind or the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the Tweed Shire and the Northern Rivers Region has to offer.
On arrival you get to choose your own unpowered spot. You then set up camp. The caretaker will check you in at the spot you have chosen towards the end of the day.
Misty Mountain Campgrounds is suitable for tent campers, caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes..
PLEASE NOTE - Children aged between 3 and 15 are booked under Child Rates, Children 2 and under are Free and do not have to be booked in.

Don't have a caravan, we have partnered up with Wrighty's Caravan Hire and Repairs. They offer family caravans delivered, setup ready for you to enjoy.
Pets allowed but you must have on lead when walking around the property near cattle. Note a maximum of 2 dogs per camp site.
Rules:
1. For the piece and quiet of other campers all check-ins must be before 5.30pm during the colder months. Check ins after 7pm may be turned away in busy times.
2. No Fireworks - this is very unsettling for our livestock
3. 9pm quiet time.

5. Generators are allowed for short period of time but not permitted after 8pm.

We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle.
2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach Bennett Beach 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach.
Pets are welcome please pick up after them. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times as you cannot predict what other campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here.
Free use of fire pits. 1st wheelbarrow of firewood is free. After that $15 for 20kg bag.
Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, the rest without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control.
We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm.
PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents.
2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking.
3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite.
4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. If you arrive after sunset make sure you have a torch. If in doubt call.
5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow.
6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure.
7) We cannot control the wind, the sun, rain, or lack of rain.

There are plenty of activities to try around town, from bushwalking, exploring the Rail Trail in Murwillumbah and downhill mountain biking at the Uki Mountain Bike Park (Less then 8Km from our property).
The property is just 5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store.
Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations.
We do have a bathtub’s on 3 sites that can be heated with fire.

We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking.
Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended.
During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.
Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent.

Life on the Farm
Days here follow the rhythm of the land and the river. Wander through the cane, taste sweet juice straight from the stalk, and see how sugarcane is grown and harvested. Enjoy bike riding, walking trails, quiet fishing spots, and kayaking or canoeing straight from the property. The Ashby Creek swimming hole offers a calm, sheltered place for a refreshing dip.
Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.

There’s plenty to do nearby — enjoy a meal at the Harwood Hotel, stop for morning tea on Chatsworth Island, or join in local favourites like the Maclean Cane Harvest Festival, Maclean Highland Gathering, Yamba, Iluka and Brooms head famous beaches and the Grafton Races. Welcome to SLEEPY HOLLOW MANOR ESTATE, a family farm acting under the state government agricultural tourism reform allowing primary producers and livestock farms such as us on RU2 property to have visitors.
As part of this we have to follow some simple protocol! Unfortunately, we have had some issues with local council, we ask that you follow these simple rules extremely closely failure to do may cause us to reject your booking and may incur penalties to both of us as the landholders and also the camper.
1. STRICTLY No Caravans, RV's, Tents or any camping site is to be set up within 50 meters of the creek.
2. No more that 20 people camping on the property at one time - we must know your exact numbers.
3. Zero impact to the land and surrounds, treat it like you would a National Park.
4. ALL WASTE must be bagged and taken off site with you. The rubbish bins in the street are not ours. They belong to the people that live in the valley. You must be prepared to take all rubbish home with you.

We are "The Sleepy Hollow Manor Estate" located in the heart of the breathtaking Sleepy Hollow Valley which is hidden snugly between the small seaside town of Pottsville and the Tweed Valley.
Once you're here you feel all your worries and stress drift away as you unwind and relax in the Manor estate and its surrounds. A farm with a difference, with a small-scale ECO low impact primitive camping style.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility as you hear the birds or just sit watching the water trickle through the creeks and waterholes. We have array of wildlife on our estate and its surrounds.
We are also available for Weddings, Birthdays and other day time gatherings. Speak to us about using us for a working space for corporate or business trips, collaborations and more.

All of the campsites are relatively flat.
Sites are large and drive in drive out. Super easy access.
All sites are within walking distance of the toilets and also the kayaks and bikes.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was such a beautiful, peaceful and family-friendly farm stay.
The kids loved making full use of the playground and especially enjoyed taking the kayaks out onto the river from the property. The afternoon farm tour was a real highlight too — they got to feed the ducks, chickens, goats, sheep, rabbits, horse and donkey, which they absolutely loved!
We also really appreciated the fresh fruit, eggs and herbs from the garden. The hosts were so lovely and welcoming, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stop on our travels.
We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to families travelling with kids!

I stayed at Fame Mountain Camp for my partners birthday, with a group of friends. All I can say is how beautiful not only the view was, but how lovely the hosts were as well. They took their time to greet us and give us a few options on what site to select. The campsite is very well set up, especially for beginner campers (like us), with hot water showers and flush toilets. There’s a shed of wood, with all the necessary equipment to chop it. There was a trampoline, pool table and ping pong table. And the communal area had a fridge, microwave and kettle. We had an amazing stay and couldn’t have had a better time anywhere else. We were blessed with terrible weather and despite this Mei offered us shelter in the amazing amenities. Lovely to have a hot shower. I cannot stress how good the amenities are. Beautiful views. We were the only guests but I can imagine that if it’s busy you are quite close to your neighbours like at a traditional campsite.

This is an absolutely delightful location and stay. Cheryl is a wonderful host and if you have kids we 100% recommend joining her to feed the animals - goats, ducks, chickens, sheep, rabbits, guinea fowl, as well as a horse and a donkey. Although slightly on the expensive side for no power or water - we extended our stay as we enjoyed it so much. Our site was very shaded - so if you need solar don't pick site 3. Also the river was lovely to swim in.

Rick & Cheryl were very accommodating and friendly.
The kids loved feeding the animals and swimming in the river.
They had bikes, boogie boards and kayaks for the kids to have free use which means we didn't have to take ours.

Beautiful large, green and spacious campsites. Kids had plenty of fun on the equipment provided and enjoyed riding their bikes around. The creek had shallow sections which was perfect for the kids to walk through and explore. Kids also loved being able to feed the farm animals. Owners were very lovely, chatty and accommodating. Checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. We were offered to pick some lemons and blood oranges from the fruit trees after feeding the farm animals which the kids also enjoyed
