Beautiful spot by the water. Area was well maintained and easy to access. We had one other camper there so plenty of space for all.

Cows by the River
Amazing campground! I went mid July and had the whole place to myself. I was worried about the cold so camped in my car, but it was actually warmer then back in Canberra surprisingly so highly recommend going at this time. Wayne was a great host, very friendly. The campground itself was beautiful, the river was so peaceful to sit by and relax. And the cows freely roaming around really cemented that serenity.

Camping at Bahwidgee, Tumut
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bahwidgee. The host was friendly, easy going and unobtrusive. The property is located conveniently close to town yet feels like worlds away. The campsite locations are directly adjacent to the beautiful Tumut River. The Milky Way was stunning at night and the sound of the river alluring. Many inquisitive finches visited the campsite in the morning. The surrounds are just beautiful. Would recommend staying here for the nature lover or anyone who would like a tranquil and picturesque place to relax and unwind. Thanks for sharing your property, Wayne.

Bahwidgee ~ Tumut River - Tents
Quiet, remote, beautiful
Fantastic quiet spot ! Other campers had plenty of room up the river to camp so they were not next to you . Loved that my dogs could go off lead and have a run around. 5 minutes to the town centre for the much needed coffee! Highly recommend… Our 2nd Hip camp adventure and our 2nd great experience having the ability to camp on private property. How lucky are we! Thanks Wayne

Perfect river camping hideaway
Perfect little spot for my first time camping in NSW after leaving QLD last year. I loved the flowing river, it’s so beautiful to listen to. We went as it was getting into winter and it was quite chilly, definitely need your winter sleeping bag and a camp fire. It was super cool to wake up surrounded by fog! The cows weren’t friendly enough to have pats, but they added to the overall scenery. I recommend wearing boots as it is a cow poo minefield and can get a bit muddy. There is a drop toilet for you to use, BYO toilet paper so you don’t get caught out. I absolutely love that it’s a 17+ campsite and no kids are allowed. It means you can actually relax and have a nice chill time camping without noisy little s***s ruining your experience. Will definitely be coming back in the future for this reason alone. There are no indicators for “camp lot numbers” you just pull up wherever there is a free spot, regardless of where you booked. You could potentially swim in the river, it is very full and fast flowing though.
