Welcome to HOME – a secluded off-grid camping experience in the heart of nature. Tucked away and surrounded by national park on three sides, this is as peaceful and remote as it gets. No crowds, no noise, no rush. Just open land, fresh air, and the sound of birds from sunrise to sunset. HOME is designed for those who truly enjoy nature and simplicity. This is a fully self-sufficient camping site, meaning you will need to bring everything you need for your stay. There is no power on site, and no luxury infrastructure – you are here to connect with the land and the nature. We offer access to a shower and a compost toilet, but everything else is up to you. Think of it as camping the way it was meant to be. You’ll be sharing the space with wildlife – kangaroos, wombats, and an abundance of birdlife call this place home. If you’re lucky (and respectful), you might even spot our very shy red-bellied black snake, who prefers to keep to itself. ⸻ Important things to know before booking: * This is a bring-your-own-gear campsite * No powered sites * Water is NOT drinkable – please bring your own drinking water * No glass bottles allowed on the property (for safety and environmental reasons) * All rubbish must be taken with you when you leave * Fires must be fully extinguished before departure * Access includes a 40 minutes dirt road and natural terrain – you need a high clearance car, ⸻ The experience: Wake up to mist over the land, spend your day exploring or doing absolutely nothing, and wind down by the fire under a sky full of stars. With its large, secluded Bush Campsites, 'Chapman Valley' is still Sydney's best-kept secret! Picture this. Hawkesbury River camping guide

Where to go

Hawkesbury

North of Sydney, Wisemans Ferry sits at the meeting point of the Hawkesbury and Macdonald rivers. Hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing are the main activities on offer in the neighbouring Dharug National Park, and to the north, Yengo National Park has thrilling 4WD tracks and remote bush campgrounds. Wisemans Ferry is also the starting point of the Old Great North Road, an important site in Australia’s convict history.

Broken Bay

The Hawkesbury River meets the ocean at Broken Bay, flanked by two coastal national parks. Cruise the waterways, fish along the coast, or trek between Aboriginal heritage sites in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. On the north shore, Brisbane Waters National Park bursts with colour during spring wildflower season—explore by bike, kayak, or boat, then camp at Pindar Cave.

The rainforest-clad peaks of the Blue Mountains rise on the horizon along the western section of the Hawkesbury River. Head into the Blue Mountains National Park to hike and mountain bike through the rainforest, ride the Scenic Railway to the Three Sisters lookout, and discover gorges, waterfalls, and natural swimming holes. Camping comes with views, too—pitch your tent by the creek or in tranquil forest valleys.

Australia’s largest city might not seem like an obvious choice for camping, but there are lots of ways to get outdoors in and around the Sydney. Swim and surf along the North Shore, cruise around Sydney Harbour, or even attempt a daring Sydney Harbour Bridge climb.
