Thankyou for considering Dungarubba Fields. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops. Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle. This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest. Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We also require guests to provide us with an ETA, preferably at the time of booking and no later than 24 hours prior to arrival. We expect you to arrive within 30 minutes of the time you specify. If you are unable to comply with these conditions, then you should not book with us. We do not have staff available to deal with early, late or unannounced arrivals. Our campsite facilities are basic and best suited to self-contained campers. We DO NOT provide general toilet or ablution facilities. However, we do have portable toilet and shower units available for hire (see under Extras). We are a 55 hectare alpaca & llama stud & sugar cane farm, just off the Pacific Hwy, on Harwood Island, in the Clarence River. Our extensive and carefully-maintained pastures offer a wide selection of peaceful, private campsites. There are also numerous small stands of natural vegetation providing shade and shelter. In close proximity to us are shopping centres, surfing beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We operate as a cottage industry, processing alpaca fleece & manufacturing products from it. We regularly conduct tours & maintain a small farm shop. We also offer a full range of home-cooked meals. NOTE: If you book Extras or Meals you choice of campsites will be limited.

Our campsite is set within our own ten acre private garden. With only one site booking, you have ensured the privacy to relax and explore the seasonally variable gardens, from the spring magnolia's, dozens of varieties, through to the camellias both sasanquas and japonicas, with the autumn colour of the acers. Centrally located great base to unhook and explore the Northern Rivers. These gardens are part of a wholesale nursery and there are a few times that staff may be in the gardens collecting cuttings. There is no access to the nursery. Our place suits relaxed self-contained travelers only who want to relax and recharge. Located just 10 minutes from Pacific highway at Ballina. Pets are Ok, we have a friendly large dog who may visit. There is a covered BBQ area with table and chairs. For group bookings, up to 10, use the extra van / tent site in the extras section.

Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops. Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle. This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest. Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. It was bliss! Chris is super friendly and really welcoming. The yurts are well maintained and well furnished. Shower and toilets were very clean and spider free which I was very grateful for.

Quiet, sheltered, gazebo with a 12volt supply and seating and barby, fire pit, potable water available, phone reception, immaculate (if that word applies to loos) composting toilet . Damien great guy, offered solutions to a power issue I had, and left us to enjoy his property. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit here, do so, it rates amongst the very best we have been at in 20+ years.

Amazing weekend away
We stayed at the glamping site and it was absolutely amazing! The tent was super comfortable and well set up, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, and it felt like the perfect mix of nature and comfort. It was honestly one of the best camping experiences we’ve had – highly recommend!
