The Bungawalbin Wildlife reserve is 100 acres of natural wetlands that backs onto the Bungawalbin Creek. I have owned the property for 35 years and have spent that time re-establishing the diversity on the property.   over the years the property had been logged mercilessly and used for cattle production. It was also subject to the devastating bushfires of 2019.  The Bungawalbin wetlands is home to a vast selection of wildlife and I have created a purpose built waterbird sanctuary to attract and provide habitat to the many species of waterbirds that frequent the property. I know you will enjoy your stay at the Bungawalbin Wildlife Reserve.

This site is ideal for tents and campers or small caravans. Set up camp beside the waterhole which is home to numerous waterbirds during the wetter months. Kangaroos come down to graze in the afternoons and spotlight for wildlife in the surrounding forest. A shower and toilet is available, and free firewood is provided.

This is a large open area perfect for caravans and larger parties. The ground is firm and level and there is room for a large fire and gazebos. A shower and toilet is available, and firewood is provided. You will be camping just up from the waterhole with the forest as your back drop. A generator is available with prior notice.

Adrian’s place was lovely and quiet and relaxing. He was great at communicating and everything went smoothly. The site was well maintained and set up with plenty of firewood and a campfire site. We had a great time!

Site 3 - Open forest clearing
Adrian's camp site was amazing. We did a roadtrip up from Newcastle to Brisbane and back, camping at 5 different sites along the way. Adrian's was the best one we found. It had the perfect balance of amenities (all of which were nice and clean) and isolated. There are only 3 sites on his property so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Adrian is an amazing host, the bird life in the mornings is beautiful and taking a stroll around the pond was lovely. The property is beautifully unkept and loved the added addition of the Hot plate will definitely be back 🙂

We had the place to ourselves. Open space allowed the children to play multiple sports. We appreciated the hot shower and flush toilet.

Adrian has a large well mowed area with access to a toilet and hot shower. Quiet peaceful place with ample room for gradchildren of varying ages to play and enjoy. Heaps of firwood. Would gladly return.

False Advertising

Riverbank camping
False advertising for Riverbank View and Wildlife Retreat. There was no river, but a muddy cattlepond and the area which we thought we were supposed to camp in had junk everywhere, including a bogey board with BB shots in it. It said toilets on site, but it was a ripped up camping shower with a toilet in it (see image). We werent quite sure if we were in the right area but we followed the signs as per instructions and it led us there.
