The Bungawalbin Wildlife reserve is 100 acres of natural wetlands that backs onto the Bungawalbin Creek. I have owned the property for 35 years and have spent that time re-establishing the diversity on the property. over the years the property had been logged mercilessly and used for cattle production. It was also subject to the devastating bushfires of 2019. The Bungawalbin wetlands is home to a vast selection of wildlife and I have created a purpose built waterbird sanctuary to attract and provide habitat to the many species of waterbirds that frequent the property. Bunjalung 4x4 adventure

Spend a day 4WDriving in the Bungawalbyn State Forest and the Bunjalung National Park then drive along 10 Mile Beach. This tour will take you off-road on some gnarly forest tracks before we head to Black Rocks in the Jerusalem creek camping area. Take a dip in the freshwater lake before we visit beautiful Iluka for a seafood lunch beside the river, from the Co-op . Then we will cruise along the pristine 10 mile beach where a swim in the ocean will complete a full day of adventure and excitement before returning to camp.

We had a beautifully peaceful weekend here. There was firewood waiting for us, the toilet and hot shower were a treat we didn’t expect and we ended up having the whole place to ourselves despite there being other campsites nearby. We will be back.

The entire trip was perfect. The environment was so tranquil and the space was perfect for me, my son and two dogs. We were lucky to have the whole space to ourselves and it was perfect fo our quiet weekend away.

Adrian has been a wonderful host. They have a beautiful property which is peaceful. We had a wonderful stay and they went out of their way to make electric line available to us when we needed it. Firewood was available too. I loved my stay and will definitely visit again when in that part of QLD. Thank you for hosting us.

Adrian’s place was lovely and quiet and relaxing. He was great at communicating and everything went smoothly. The site was well maintained and set up with plenty of firewood and a campfire site. We had a great time!

Adrian's camp site was amazing. We did a roadtrip up from Newcastle to Brisbane and back, camping at 5 different sites along the way. Adrian's was the best one we found. It had the perfect balance of amenities (all of which were nice and clean) and isolated. There are only 3 sites on his property so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Adrian is an amazing host, the bird life in the mornings is beautiful and taking a stroll around the pond was lovely. The property is beautifully unkept and loved the added addition of the Hot plate will definitely be back 🙂

Adrian has a large well mowed area with access to a toilet and hot shower. Quiet peaceful place with ample room for gradchildren of varying ages to play and enjoy. Heaps of firwood. Would gladly return.

False Advertising

Riverbank camping
False advertising for Riverbank View and Wildlife Retreat. There was no river, but a muddy cattlepond and the area which we thought we were supposed to camp in had junk everywhere, including a bogey board with BB shots in it. It said toilets on site, but it was a ripped up camping shower with a toilet in it (see image). We werent quite sure if we were in the right area but we followed the signs as per instructions and it led us there.
