Sylva Lagoons is a 570 acre beef cattle and native timber producing farm, which we, Pete and Elaine bought in 2015 for somewhere beautiful and peaceful for our retirement.
It is so beautiful living here we thought we should share it.
If you are booking to join us, please give a rough eta so we can be at the campground to welcome you
The lagoon at the campground is over 10 acres of water, with native forest on three sides. It is great for canoeing or bushwalking and our bird life is spectacular. Because it is a bird paradise, no cats are allowed!
Dog friendly - with limitations. Flushing disabled toilet available. Good access for 2WD. Campfires permitted in a designated area and firewood available for a fee.
CRITICAL! As we are farmers we need to know your ETA. Please advise us your ETA before arrival so we can be there to greet you.

The overall vibe at the campsite is one of peace and tranquility, with guests consistently praising the serene surroundings and well-maintained grounds. Peter and Elaine, the hosts, are frequently mentioned for their friendliness and willingness to help, making visitors feel welcomed and at ease. The campsite offers spacious, flat areas for tents, clean amenities, and opportunities for bird watching and kayaking. Despite a minor issue with directions, guests found the experience relaxing and enjoyable, with plans to return.
Very peaceful flat piece of land overlooking a beautiful lagoon. Run by a friendly and welcoming couple, the facilities are very well kept. Simple but just what you need. Would definitely stay again.
My wife, I and ours 9 and 6-year-old daughters, have had a wonderful stay at Sylva Lagoons Camp for 2 nights.
We liked the quiet and tranquility, and the perfect tent spot. My daughter and I enjoyed kayaking at the lagoon!
The toilet was very clean, and the nature hot shower was great!
But above all, Peter and Elaine are very friendly and were willing to help with everything with a big smile!
Highly recommended for a family vacation!!
Disappointed that Hip Camp directions took me down a track to the back of the property. Well worth the stay as it was so peaceful, relaxing, friendly hosts, clean amenities & an amazing outlook over a lagoon full of birdlife.
Beautiful camping close to lake, nicely spaced, with own firepit and unique shower.
Also can walk barefoot on the beautiful grass.
Thank you for a lovely stay
We had a fabulous 2 nights at Sylva Lagoons. The grounds and amenities are kept beautifully by Peter and Elaine, it’s a credit to them. The lake itself is brimming with birdlife, so lovely to watch over our campfire in the evening. Situated quite close to Casino and also drives to surrounding areas. We would thoroughly recommend to others and hopefully return ourselves.
The hosts, Peter and Elaine, are simply great people. And as a solo traveller, they made me feel very welcome. The place was beautiful (February) and quiet, so it was a peaceful experience altogether for me, with rainwater shower and a walk through their forest to learn about the trees... I would return again without a doubt. Highly recommend to solo travelers for peace of mind and a peaceful camp!
Welcoming hosts and a beautiful property! Recently stayed over the Australia day long weekend with family and would highly recommend this property for a relaxing time away with clean facilities.
Peaceful, tranquil setting.
Well presented immaculate grounds, with showers and toilet to match.
Friendly, attentive host.
Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.
Fantastic property with very friendly hosts Peter & Elaine. We have used this property for two trips and will definitely use again.
Beautifully maintained grounds & amenities.
Thank you both
Sylva lagoons campground was so peaceful and relaxing. A lot of birdlife. Peter showed us around his property and all the different types of trees he has. It was amazing. Thank you so much Peter and Elaine for allowing us to share your little hidden paradise. Graeme and Gisela
What a wonderful place to relax, and our hosts Peter and Elaine make you feel most welcome.
The ground were in great order
This time, I was there as part of a group of Manchester Unity members.
I would thoroughly recommend visiting Silva Lagoon
The landscape and camp sites at Sylva Lagoons Camp were beautiful and well maintained. Peter and Elaine went to great effort to look after everyone. All sites enjoyed good space and the sounds of birds, crackling camp fires, and picturesque sunsets. The bathroom block was well maintained and very handy. Peter delivered a sensational nature & forest walk tour with history, ecology, farming & environmental prowess. The lilypad dam and eagles souring above were a special treat. Highly recommend.
We had such a lovely peaceful stay at Syla Lagoon. Hosts Peter & Elaine made us feel like old friends, very welcoming 💕 We extended our stay to enjoy the tranquility of the lagoon & lush green campgrounds. We were especially impressed with the amenities block with its view, very creative and the gardens lovingly cared for by Elaine. Highly recommended by us.🥰
Loved this hidden surprise. Just spent 2 beautiful days here and unfortunately have to leave in the morning. Thank you Peter and Elaine for your hospitality.
The place is just stunning, feeling in the middle of nowhere with everything you need and even more! Peter is incredibly welcoming, making you feel like home.
Again, the place takes out your breath!
