Our weekend away at Soulhaven was magical! After seeing the lovely country in the lead up to the venue we were greeted by Elphie and a few cute pups. For open camping we had a few choices (open field with breathtaking views or tree enveloped sanctuary), and once shown around we settled into our own little tree canopy slice of heaven. There was both drop toilet portaloos or a central single toilet block with shower (and some hot water!). The owners offered us some firewood and we sat under the stars roasting marshmallows and relaxing away without the bother of phone reception allowing us the unchained freedom of camping life. There were a host of frogs, ducks and birds that soundtracked our sleep. I would 100% be back again to enjoy the tranquillity of their delightful property.

We had such an amazing weekend at Soulhaven. Elphie was so kind and welcoming. We had plenty of space to choose from and amenities not far away. Multiple towns close by to visit during the day. Would definitely recommend!!

Location wise and scenery, it was very nice. The view of the valley during the day and the stars at night is beautiful. Nice little pergola in the centre to shelter from the rain and enjoy the view. There was only one shower for everyone, and they weren't really serviced to maintain the sawdust in the long drop, so it just stunk after one night, but was manageable. But for us, the noise during the night was terrible. People play their music loud and are supposed to turn it down at 10pm but don't and aren't told to. So, that can go to midnight plus. Ironically, the owner hates dogs barking but their dog was barking all through the night. Everything echoes through that valley. Not to mention the Plovers that seemed to want to swoop around the campsite several times throughout the night skawking extremely loud, that part is uncontrollable, but it was still something I've only experienced there and was every night about 4-5 times. So, ultimately there was just so much noise we didn't get much rest, which is precisely why we tried to head away to the bush. We have less noise in the city tbh. Shame because they seem nice and the scenery is great! But the noise is a big no

Very quiet natural bushland setting.
Good place to recharge. Enjoy the chorus of cicadas every evening followed by the frogs in the lilypond and finishing off with the late night owl calls.

It was advertised that there was only 6 sites for the campground, We had booked 3 out of the 6 and when we booked 2 weeks before easter, the lady said there is only one other group that has booked out the other camp sites so it will be nice a quite. Sounds great....until we rocked up and there were 5 other groups, all the sites are right next to the house, there is only one toilet and shower that is in the same cubical so if someone is using one no one can use the other. We arrived on the Friday, and by the Friday night the toilet was blocked and overflowing on the floor, the host flew out overseas that morning and the sub-in who was looking after the place while they were gone was also dropping them off at the airport meaning he wasn't at the property until midday, it wasn't until that afternoon that the toilet was fixed (and when I say fixed, an additional pipe was put into the plumbing that just ran off into the bush. Definitely won't be coming back. Feels like the host just opened the gates and booked more people than what the place can facilitate.

Elphie and Markus were the most wonderful people that we met on our road trip. They also helped to organise the perfect proposal, with a purpose built staging area and beautiful scenery backdrop.

We absolutely loved our night here, extremely secluded and beautiful land with an oasis of bird sounds and calming surroundings. Elphies communication was great and made for a very easy arrival and trip, the gorgeous friendly dog that greeted us on arrival just an added bonus.
Dirt track for about 2km to the land which was a little difficult for our extremely old van due to being slightly uphill also but this was definitely due to our equipment, would recommend arrival in daylight and taking this 2km very slow if your cars a little older or not great on unsealed roads - doing this we were able to get our way there unscathed.
We hope to be back in the near future and will definitely be recommending to any friends looking for some R&R

Elphie and Marcus are perfect hosts who welcome you to share their property and dreams, along with their lovely two doggies.

Elphie was an amazing Host! The spot is absolutely beautiful with lots of privacy and so peaceful tucked right away in the woods. My partner and I had a wonderful stay and Elphie and her partner went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! Thank you so much for your hospitality and we most definitely will be back to explore on the bikes!

Had a nice, quiet and flat spot surrounded by trees, just next to a small dam.
Far enough from the House (which faces the other way) to not notice it at night.
Friendly hosts, had a quick chat and they left us to enjoy their property.
Toilet was closeby, had loo paper and was clean.
Last 2.5kms to the property is decent gravel road, driveway is similar with the last little bit to camp across the grass.

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the beautiful view and star gazing. The owners were lovely and showed us around the site to help us choose our favourite spot. They also supplied firewood and lend us gloves! Charlie, the dog was very friendly and played with our kid every day. Bush waking at Border Range and Night Cap National Park was absolutely stunning. Stopped at Lismore for coffee and lunch. Plenty to do and highly recommend.

We had a fabulous time at Valley View. The scenery was just beautiful and we even saw a thunderstorm brewing (and it thankfully didn’t come our way!).
Elphie had a friend house sitting and he was wonderful. He suggested the best spot to camp on and showed us the toilet and shower (both spot on). Lovely camping spot, facilities and hosts.

Fantastic place with great views and atmosphere, Elphie was super friendly and helpful, and the kids loved Charlie the dog. Great first night to check out Kyogle before heading up into the border ranges. Roxy lane in Kyogle is a great stop for breakfast or lunch.

Beautiful location and quiet surroundings. My boys enjoyed gathering wood and sitting by the fire watching the night sky. The hosts were warm and welcoming and very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Excellent spot, very secluded off grid bush retreat.
Camper set up behind the dam on a bench cut pad.
Located in the middle of a few towns for easy access to supplies. Would recommend.

A lovely peaceful place stay. Basic but clean and adequate amenities. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful, and even though we arrived on dark, directed us to a site suitable for our setup. The stay was very pleasant and we look forward to trying different areas of the beautiful property in the future. We enjoyed star gazing and watching the sun set most.

We had a great time with friends at Soulhaven :) Elphie is so welcoming and the site over looking the valley is lovely to wake up to.
Facilities are clean and our dog had the best weekend too! It was so handy to be able to collect firewood on the property too - thank you so much.

Thanks Elphie for having us on your beautiful property. Plenty of space to find a lovely spot to spend a few nights. Plenty of privacy away and the owners were respectful of our privacy. The area was beautiful, great views and just a lovely quiet surrounding. Camp site had a clean and functioning toilet and shower block. was great to have a dog with us too. Would recommend visiting and staying at this property while in the area.
