This beautiful property has been nurtured by my parents since 1983. As a boy I helped my parents remove large amounts of lantana weeds by hand. Other invasive weeds have been controlled, allowing the native species time and space to regenerate themselves into the perfect example of native Australian sclerophyll forest that you see today. My parents have since retired and I'm now honored to have the opportunity to share this remarkable environment with you.This campsite is an elevated & level camp, overlooking the beautiful Australian bush. Positioned on a sandstone ridge, facing north east, you'll feel at peace among well established eucalyptus & sclerophyll forest. The camp site is about 10 meters-square. It's privately secluded from the main public road, but close enough to hear the occasional vehicle. The sandy soils here challenge the under story with low fertility and often dry conditions. Common wildlife include echidna, goanna, wallabies, various insects, and a wide variety of bird-life. You'll need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower and water. Please only use the designated stone fire-pit. Dogs on leashes & horses are welcome. There is ample opportunity here for self-guided bush walking & exploring the amazing natural environment. However, as a warming, if weather conditions are hot, the camp can feel uncomfortably hot - especially in the middle of the day during summer - being a relatively exposed north-east facing slope. Be aware, due to the sloping land & dense trees, trailers cannot be turned around once inside the property. Please un/load trailers outside, opposite the driveway entrance, on the side of the main public Dyraaba Road. The property is 50 hectares fenced on all sides & you are free to roam on foot or horseback throughout. Unfortunately motorized vehicles including motorcycles, are not permitted to drive on this property. Be careful of Bull-ants protecting their nest, near the main camp. Also please refrain from feeding native animals (such as nocturnal possums). Along with many other natural hazards these type of risks are present in this beautiful natural bush setting. On a clear day, in the distant horizon you can spot Wollumbin Mountain (AKA 'Mount Warning') which is also the most prominent mountain visible from Byron Bay, & throughout Bundjalung country. Dyraaba is part of the traditional lands of the GULI-BUL tribal area, within the greater Bundjalung Nation. This HipCamp site is about 100km or 1.5hr drive inland from Byron Bay, NSW.

Firepit. Be very careful with fire at this place. The existing small stone circle indicates exactly where your campfire is allowed. No fires allowed during high fire risk times. During cooler/wetter periods a small campfire is allowed. You are allowed to collect a small amount of wood from the property. Be aware of the risk of wildfire during high fire danger weather conditions. Thank you.

We love Dyraaba Dreaming! It’s just a one site camp which is great as there’s no other people on top of you like at other camps. The main ++++ awesome thing about this place is that Daniel has actually kept the price what it should be for a Hipcamp, not these bYrOn prices that you see on most other hipcamps these days. We saw a brush tail possum, a cool millipede, a mad little lizard and lots of birds. 10/10 recommend this place for people who actually want to bush camp away from everyone.

This spot was exactly as people have been describing. A secluded space surrounded by beautiful native wildlife. Enough space for a group of 4 and accessible by any car. Daniel was clear and supportive. Definitely worth checking out!

We recently stayed at Dyraaba Dreaming, at the “Gone Bush” campsite, and it was exactly what we needed. Total peace and quiet, surrounded by stunning Australian bush and wildlife. I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was to stay here. Don’t let the low price fool you , this place is a little gem. It feels remote and relaxing, yet it’s not far from Kyogle, Casino, and Nimbin if you want to head out for a look around. Perfect spot to unwind and recharge. Definitely recommend.

Gone bush was absolutely beautiful and amazing experience being out in the bush with no one around but nature was beautiful and I have to say it's perfect in every way can't wait to go back it's very affordable and private with all the bush to your self it was so peaceful and relaxing.

Kids and I enjoyed our stay, even with a road nearby it felt private and secluded. Smaller site was perfect size for our family tent and gazebo. Site is surrounded by bush and close to site clearing which added to the feeling of seclusion. Close to both Kyogle and Casino

I really liked Gone Bush at Dyraaba. It is a great place to set up for a few days and enjoy the solitude. The camp site is small and there are no obvious animal tracks to follow but I did not go venture out on this occasion. The mobile internet is very good for the location. So I was able to catch up on some remote office work while enjoying the nature around me.

Gone Bush was a beautiful, private and peaceful campsite. Absolutely amazing value for price at the site. Whilst we were there we saw 2x wild sugar gliders, lizards, heard dingoes close by, and had the clearest view of the night sky. I 100% recommend this site to campers who want a private and self sufficient experience.

Absolutely loved our stay! The campsite was peaceful and completely private. Woke up to the sound of kookaburras in the morning and even spotted a couple of wallabies nearby. Such a beautiful and relaxing spot. Would definitely come back!

Daniels little slice of bush camping space was awesome. From the time of booking, to the communication and camping it was flawless. Absolutely loved staying here over the Australia day long weekend. Daniel was very prompt with his replies and communication was clear and precise. Very easy to find with the gps navigating. Felt like you were alone in the bush, then you'd hear the odd car go past, but we were very secluded and loved that. Take mozzie repellent as being in nature you can imagine the amount of mozzies, spiders etc. that you'd come across. We were a little on edge with the bush and bracken around (this we knew to expect beforehand, being a conservation area) and the potential of seeing snakes etc and having our little dog with us, but we kept him on a short reign at all times and kept him safe. No snakes were sighted, thankfully. It was a nice relief knowing we had phone service incase of an accident. Would definately go back here again for a few days piece and quiet

Beautiful, quiet spot all to yourself. Highly recommend. Daniel has made this a great haven to get away from a busy life, and be emerged in nature. Site is fairly easy to find, although I did drive past it the first time. There is a quiet unsealed road near by, but is very quiet and will hardly notice the noice once you tune in the nature around you.
