Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. Hidden Valley is on 26 acres with frontage to Grady's Creek (the creek is our front boundary) and our back boundary is a goods train line, the train occasionally gives a toot to campers. We offer general camping, an area for tents and swags and we welcome custom group bookings. We have two amenities blocks (six toilets and six hot showers). Firewood and ice available for purchase. Hidden Valley is a dog friendly camping ground. However, it is the responsibility of the owner/s to keep their dog/s controlled at all times and on leashes, for all campers to enjoy their stay. There is no Local Council rubbish removal services available, so please take all your rubbish with you on departure. Facilities for recycling of cans and scraps is available. Christmas Creek Cedar Cabin is a Tiny Home in the Scenic Rim. Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west. This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs. A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. In Queensland, just north of the NSW border, in the Running Creek area of the "Scenic Rim". The nearby National Park is Mt Chinghee, which is part of the Shield Volcano Group of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. We have grassed valleys and forested hills, which provide the perfect setting for bush walking, bird watching, star gazing, or just relaxing. All of our camp sites are well separated from each other. If it's total seclusion and privacy you're after, "Fig Tree" and "Ridge Top" would be perfect for you. While "The Old Hut", and "Washout" are closer to the road, they are not visable to each other. Our newest addition., "The Reserve" is tucked away on the banks of a special shady grassed area with lots of room to spread out. Guests staying with us must have their own toilet/shower facilities and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. The sites are accessible for 4WD only. Get back to nature and explore. Many native animals have been spotted on the property wallabies, possums, echidnas, goannas, bandicoots, dingos, and koalas as well as a large variety of birds. Also a variety of frogs i.e.. Red/orange eyed tree frog, desert tree frog, white lipped tree frog, striped and spotted marsh frogs, striped rocket frog and stoney creek frogs. ( see how many different calls you can hear) This beautiful 200acre property in Camp Creek is part of the original "selection" by William Dimmock in 1895. It was a dairy farm, and at one stage the family grew market garden crops on a plateau high up the mountain, using a flyingfox to bring the crops down. Originally the property took in "Screw Gully" from Glenapp up to Tartar Creek Rd. In the 60's Jim Dimmick (grandson to William) sold out and the land was sub-divided. The property now supports up to 40 head of breeding cattle and 2 retired horses. Scenic Rim hosts local wineries; restaurants and coffee shops, and Mt Tamborine, all within an hour drive. Only a 1.5 hour drive to the Gold Coast.

You can also hike our property to see Border view camp spot which has beautiful and amazing views of the Border Rangers, you can see Lynchs ck and Warrazambil ck falls in the distance ,you can also look down the valley towards Kyogle and surrounds.There is also an abundance of wildlife on the hike Koala's are often about if you look up for them usually early morning or late afternoon. You will also come across our beautiful Simmental cattle on the hike they are very quite. There is also Fern gully picnic spot on the hike which is a great spot to relax or do some morning yoga at the small waterfall . Children will also find fairy homes. .Fern Gully is a very tranquil. There is a 1km of creek to explore with great fishing spots you can catch Perch ,Cat fish Mullet ,and Carp. The creek is lots of fun to kayak on. There is plenty of creek to paddle and Awesome rapids to challenge yourself. And one of our favourite things to do is fossicking you can find Quartz, Citrine and Jasper.. The Village of Wiangaree is just 4klm from the camp grounds they have great coffee and hot food and also do Friday night meals. And in walking distance of 200 meters is Ferndale Pantry which sells sourdough, eggs, chutneys, cakes and more. We are also a 10klm drive to to the Border Rangers National Park. The Campgrounds are beautifully and are situated on the creek. There are 5 spacious dispersed sites . There are fire pits available and fire wood is available for $20 a wheelbarrow full, just ask on arrival. Rubbish must be taken with you when you leave. There is no toilet, you must bring your own toilet and take home all waste. Bush toilet is not acceptable. Wiangaree have Public toilets. And no potable water. Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Scrub. Gumtree has a little flat area on top of creek bank and the rest is more uneven and sloped ground. More suitable for tents, swags, rooftops and small vans. Creekbend is all flat and more suitable for bigger vehicles. Old Stump is slighlty sloped and uneven but has some flat areas. Away from the other 2 camp area but suitable for large groups. Quiet camp area on Creek bank. A short walk down the bank to shallow to mid depth running water, perfect to sit and chill out in, or watch the kids splash around. Plenty of shade down by the creek. It can be a steep or slippery walk down to the creek, depending on the weather and if the creek has recently risen or flooded. Easily accessible by 2WD as long as its not too wet. Suitable for tents, caravans, RVs etc Dogs allowed but must be supervised at all times and chained/locked up at night or if being a nuisance. All campers must be fully self sufficient. NO TOILETS NO ELECTRICITY NO WATER Camp fires permitted but subject to local fire bans/restrictions. BYO firewood. Firewood also available for purchase from neighbours just up the road. They have easy access off the main Kerry Road. Friends love our campsites for catch ups, the bird watching, small historical or nature walks around the property and of course the cool waterholes in the Albert River. Other groups use Kerry Valley Secret as a base camp for hiking adventures in the wilderness end of Lamington National Park. Bring your togs and floaties to cool down in the waterhole on the Albert River. Don't forget the marshmallows to roast on the fire at night (firewood provided). Binoculars and boots are a must for bird watching and exploring our walking tracks through the forest. All campsites have basic toilet facilities (a portaloo) and firepit (with a free bag of kindling provided). Stockyard Creek Campsite also includes a picnic table. I’m the 4th generation on the farm and work alongside my parents and my husband operating the family business of milking cows. The campsite is on a private area of flat ground right beside the Oxley River with views of Mt Warning. We are excited to share our piece of paradise with others. PLEASE NOTE:- There are 3 camp areas at Buddai Camp, Gumtree - has 2 separate sites. Creekbend - has 1 individual site. Old Stump - has 1 individual site, but suitable for larger groups. ~ Gumtree - site 1 and site 2. ~ Creekbend - site 1. ~ Old Stump - site 1. Gumtree has a little flat area on top of creek bank and the rest is more uneven and sloped ground. More suitable for tents, swags, rooftops and small vans. Creekbend is all flat and more suitable for bigger vehicles. Old Stump is slighlty sloped and uneven but has some flat areas. Away from the other 2 camp area but suitable for large groups. Quiet camp area on Creek bank. A short walk down the bank to shallow to mid depth running water, perfect to sit and chill out in, or watch the kids splash around. Plenty of shade down by the creek. It can be a steep or slippery walk down to the creek, depending on the weather and if the creek has recently risen or flooded. Easily accessible by 2WD as long as its not too wet. Suitable for tents, caravans, RVs etc Dogs allowed but must be supervised at all times and chained/locked up at night or if being a nuisance. All campers must be fully self sufficient. NO TOILETS NO ELECTRICITY NO WATER Camp fires permitted but subject to local fire bans/restrictions. BYO firewood. Firewood also available for purchase from neighbours just up the road. Kerry Valley Secret - Stockyard Creek, Kingfisher and Platypus Campsites in the Scenic Rim are exclusive bush campsites - once you have booked no-one else will be able to camp at that site - and they are perfect for groups! The Stockyard Creek Campsite is situated on the babbling Stockyard Creek and there is a short walk to the bigger Albert River waterhole. This pretty spot features Silky Oaks and Ironwood trees, views to Luke's Bluff and Ding Bing falls in Lamington National Park, has plenty of shade for tents and a huge space for caravans and camper trailers to turn around in Family groups love the site for the babbling but shallow child friendly Stockyard Creek - perfect for paddling and playing in. The Kingfisher and Platypus Campsites have larger waterholes than the Stockyard Creek Campsite and you are able to wander the 2km of river frontage while fishing. They have easy access off the main Kerry Road. Friends love our campsites for catch ups, the bird watching, small historical or nature walks around the property and of course the cool waterholes in the Albert River. Other groups use Kerry Valley Secret as a base camp for hiking adventures in the wilderness end of Lamington National Park. Bring your togs and floaties to cool down in the waterhole on the Albert River. Don't forget the marshmallows to roast on the fire at night (firewood provided). Binoculars and boots are a must for bird watching and exploring our walking tracks through the forest. All campsites have basic toilet facilities (a portaloo) and firepit (with a free bag of kindling provided). Stockyard Creek Campsite also includes a picnic table. Exclusivity is a feature of all our campsite and for that reason we only take a flat rate booking. Once you have booked no one else will be able to camp at the site, it is all yours.

The site is very well maintained, very tranquil with the tree, wildlife and sound of running water through the place. Was good to do a little explore/walk of the creek and just relax under the stars. Shayne was very helpful with directions for us to get there and super accomodating. Not too long a drive out but felt like we were way out in the bush, no service and switched off for the stay. Was a lovely location with plenty of natural shade to utilise too. Will be back for sure :)

Second time back and it won’t be outlast. We Love this quiet and private camp to just sit and listen and de-stress. The sound of the running water, occasional cows mooing, birds calling, the rustle of the goannas through the underbrush, and the breezes in the trees are enough of a soundtrack for us to enjoy. Spotted eels and catfish amongst the small and abundant native fish & shrimp in the crystal clear waters of the swimming hole this time. Easy access and plenty of level spots to park up our caravan and our friend campervan along with the convenience of an onsite toilet makes this site a real gem. Can’t wait to come back soon!

A beautiful spot above a little flowing creek. Nice and flat with some shady areas. Shower/toilet not too far away. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and communal area where you can relax and charge phones etc. The lovely lady filling in for Peter and Jannine (sorry, I didn't get your name!) was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Both myself and my dog felt very welcome and comfortable. I would definitely stay again :-)

Border ranges national Park has great birdlike and walking trails. Goannas were bothersome probably because people are feeding them

Did a circuit drive to Woodenbong and onwards, up to lookout. Missed turn off to falls. Kyogle info place advised. Lovely drive. View up top not that great. About a 3 hr circuit. Hoped to get a coffee along the way. Only place in Woodenbong is a cafe in the garage. We didn’t stop but later told it was good.

Definitely worth a visit
Beautiful park - its nature was absolutely stunning. We had a bit of a hard time finding the entrance though. Maybe some more signs on the road would be a good idea.

Grassy spacious campsites in rural setting
Grassy, spacious campsites by the creek with friendly hosts and resident dogs. Clean amenities block and spacious camp kitchen with everything you need. Kyogle is a short drive away with a large IGA and the border ranges national park walks are also very nearby, and were a highlight. We loved this campground 👍👍

Worth a look, the roads are a bit uneven, so make sure you have a suitable vehicle. The views are amazing and there is a lot to check out even if you don't plan anything. Would highly recommend.

Skip the crowds at Lamington!
Like all the parks on the border, stunning views, a nice mix of long and short walks, and waterfalls/rivers are everywhere. Border Ranges has less sealed roads than Lamington or Springbrook, so if you've got 4WD, it's more fun! Keep in mind that when wet, those leeches are otherwordly. I'm talking 5 minutes of walking and you've got 4 on each hiking boot, headed toward your socks. But if you stick to the shorter ones and lookouts, you can still enjoy the trip even in wet weather.

Unlike Queensland side of border you can conveniently drive to the edge of the escarpment saving your breath only to have it taken away by the stunning view of Mt Warning from the Pinnacles lookout

What a beautiful NP - the Rosewood loop trail that we walked had just been re opened after a huge job by the National Park rangers so we were lucky to be first off the mark to successfully get around that in the wet and slippery conditions. Be careful at the T intersection at the Forest Loop turnoff - even though the Right turn track back to Sheepstation campground is covered in thick damaged tree and branches, it IS the right way to go. Climb through them until the rangers can clear the path. Don’t take Forest Loop or return the way you came unless you have a few hours, and are very fit as you could become exhausted !

The Hipcamp had a map of the local area so you are able to explore the "off the main road" areas. SO much better when you can swim in the creeks and easily drive the roads without getting lost. Great long or short walk.
