We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. We are on a koala and wildlife corridor so respect for our wildlife as well as our domestic livestock is essential. We are conveniently located just off the Warrego Highway but once you set up camp, you will feel miles away from anywhere. Relax at camp or wander down to the creek to swim, fish or kayak (if the seasons are favourable); birdwatch, hike or mountain bike along the ridge; wander our flower field (seasonal picking available at additional cost); visit with the cattle and miniature ponies; stargaze and enjoy a camp fire (if there are no fire bans). If you want to explore the region, we are only 18klms from Toowoomba or Gatton and you can slip up Springbluff to easily access Highfields/Crows Nest area. Plenty of space to choose your camp, with very limited numbers accepted. Potable water available but Council requirements mean you must be fully self contained. Nearest dump point will be Gatton Showgrounds. The criticism of our space by some campers has been the nearby railway line. We have become immune to it but for some the passing coal trains is annoying. They are sporadiac - sometimes frequent, other times not. If you don't like trains, perhaps Karinya is not for you :( Leave no trace.

We do have a Portable toilet onsite, however, no showers and campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. We are located 15 minutes from Toowoomba for shopping, dinning and 5 minutes to Withcott hotel or 10 to Murphy's Creek hotel both great country pubs. Children under 4 are free.

Visit the iconic Ambulance Museum that tells the story of Ambulance services in Queensland. We are within easy reach of Highland Falls which has some great walking tracks and view points of the falls. Pets are also permitted in this bushland area but must be on a leash. We are just 3 mins from local shops, McDonald's, KFC. This is the perfect spot for those who want to wind down and escape the hustle and bustle. Check out our photography extra. 160 acres of working goat and alpaca farm on the highlands of the Darling Downs, only 8 km from the New England Highway. All sites are private and secluded with great views, great sunsets, and starry night skies. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife including Red Necked Wallabies, Possums, Rufus Batongs, Bandicoots and Echidnas. There are seasonal creeks and waterfalls and wildflowers. Campers may occasionally be visited by a herd of friendly goats that like soft drink and chips. We often have baby goats and alpacas that are being hand reared which are popular with kids and adults alike. Dogs are permitted but have to be quiet and restrained. Campfires permitted at our discretion (please ask first - depending on weather conditions). You'll need to BYO wood. Campers MUST have their own toilet. The standard "Pack it in. Pack it out" rules apply. All sites are accessible by STANDARD HEIGHT 2WD however 4WD may be required if towing. There is a 'special' site reserved for Larger RVs and Caravans. Cooby Dam is only minutes away for fishing, bird watching, Kayaking and canoeing

It is located just 15kms north of Toowoomba. Our property is part of the Highfields Pioneer Village* complex located just 20 minutes from Toowoomba. This campsite is a wonderful place to rest whilst taking in the scenic surroundings of the village which is the home of the Big Cow. Visit the Toowoomba Fire Brigade Museum which houses an historic collection of memorabilia, documenting the story of the people who have worked every day to keep us safe from fires since 1877. The collection includes Uniforms, Badges & patches, historical records & photographs and over 6 Historic Fire Engine Vehicles, Apparatus, Models & Collectibles. Visit the iconic Ambulance Museum that tells the story of Ambulance services in Queensland. We are within easy reach of Highland Falls which has some great walking tracks and view points of the falls. Pets are also permitted in this bushland area but must be on a leash. We are just 3 mins from local shops, McDonald's, KFC. This is the perfect spot for those who want to wind down and escape the hustle and bustle. We have amenities available and pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Sorry, no campfires. Bush Camping. The Cafe onsite is now open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. *Tickets to the Village are optional and can be purchased onsite from the Kiosk. Directions and communication were clear. Price was good. Surrounds were beautiful. Fire pits for each site and options on where to camp within each site were good too. It was peaceful. Pretty. Inviting. I would stay here again for sure! The goat curry was so yumm and good help when I made enquiries about my food intolerances. I got to camp in a thunderstorm and the place was even more beautiful the morning after. There was one goat who was very friendly and I enjoyed watching the shaggy cows stand in the creek and the kids chase each other up the banks. This was a very good experience

We had a fantastic experience camping at Savvy Creek Farm (Sunrise site)! Our host, Ben, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The facilities, including the bathroom and the pool, were clean and well-maintained. There were designated areas for campfires, with firewood available for purchase (self-service), or you can collect your own. We also loved getting to interact with the farm animals, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location is great since it's close to Toowoomba, so if you need anything it’s just a quick trip into town. Overall, a wonderful stay and highly recommended!

We had amazing views. A great sense of serenity and very friendly hosts. We had the paddock to ourselves along with the cows and horses. We stayed on a wet weekend so we did not get the chance to spotlight some wildlife. Would recommend to anyone who loves mountain views. And being out with the wildlife. Would advise bringing a rake to help clear a spot for your setup.

Had a relaxing few nights stay with my dogs at Coominya Farm Stay. The dogs enjoyed swimming in the dam and host Lynn was lovely to communicate with and even nicer in person. The amenities were spotless. Although I didn’t need to use the camp kitchen, it was a large, well thought out space and very clean. Overall a great value Hipcamp with the access to hot showers, toilets and camp kitchen all included.

My wife and I had a fantastic 2 night stay in our caravan at Savvy Farmstay. Ben and his family were wonderful hosts and so helpful as we were unfamiliar with the local area. Was a relaxing farm to stay at seeing lots of young piglets and lambs in their pens. Small baby chickens roaming around free. Walking the bush trails around the dam and creek were fun. Ben & his beautiful family were nothing short of the most wonderful hosts. On arrival they met us, including the dog 🤣 where we were parking our van. Explained where everything was and open for us to use the pool if we liked. Ben text me the following night asking how my husband was as he went in for surgery that day. I was so appreciative to know he cared to make contact and check in. Our van and belongings were safe and we were also told we could have a fire if we felt we wanted one. Ben also helped me to hook up the van on our day of leaving as my husband wasn’t able after surgery. I was in a spot of bother after needing a jack and a power pack, Ben and his kids come to the rescue. Could not have been more grateful for his kindness and support during our stay. A huge ‘thankyou’ to Ben’s Camp for allowing us to stay in a safe and caring place while my husband was in hospital. We will be back again Kind regards Cheryl & Clarrie Sellars

When to go

The best time to visit Ravensbourne National Park is during the cooler months, from April to September, when the weather is mild and conducive for hiking and birdwatching. Summer brings heavy rains and storms, making some tracks less accessible.
