Peaceful and Quiet Views! We enjoyed a 3 night 4 day stay at the Lorikeets Nest site. This site isnāt on top of the hill, but still offers solid views on the side of the hill. We arrived easily to the camp in our little 2WD i30. The driveway has a few bumps and rocks, but to totally manageable. There is a short stretch of graded dirt road leading to the drive way, coming from Crows Nest, but again no concerns for any other 2WD campers! Lorikeets Nest was a huge area, with flat grassy areas, an in ground fire pit, small portable fire pit, and tress for shade or hammocking. There is a drop toilet right by the site that has a few spider friends, but in good condition otherwise (no smell which was good!!). There is a no potable water tap by the site, but it wasnāt working when we stayed. Iām assuming itās using rain water, and it has been a few dry weeks when we stayed. The site is on a hill, so we experienced quite a bit of wind coming up the hill, but again nothing that took away from the peace and solitude. There was a friendly Kelpie that loved a game of fetch. The hosts dropped some firewood for us before our arrival, which was a great help! Crows Nest is a short drive down the road, and has the amenities youād need. We went the short distance to Crows Nest NP and enjoyed the lovely treks. Iāll definitely be recommending all the sites offered, and would love to come back again!
