Whether you're waking up to birdsong, exploring our private marked bushwalks, or gathering around the campfire after a day on the trails, this off-grid haven is built for reconnecting with nature. ⛺ The Kites Campsite Site Type: Unpowered & Undesignated (Choose your own spot on arrival!) Terrain and Setup: Nestled on gentle mountain terrain, the campsite area features a slight slope, so we recommend bringing leveling ramps/chocks for camper vans or pitching tents on the flatter terraces. Vibe: Relaxed, spacious bush camping with mountain breezes and visiting wallabies. 🚰 On-Site Facilities & Amenities We offer modern, sustainable off-grid facilities so you can enjoy the wild without sacrificing comfort: Camp Kitchen: Covered kitchen area featuring a gas BBQ (with hood & side burner), double sink with cold water, and a large table tennis table that doubles as a dining table! Amenities Block: Clean composting toilet and a private shower room with both cold and instantaneous hot water options. Campfires Allowed: Gather at the shared communal fire pit or bring your own raised, off-ground fire pit. Bonus: Unlimited free firewood (fallen branches only) available for scavenging on-site! Kids Paradise: Massive play area featuring a flying fox, climbing frame, trampoline, outdoor toys, and fruit/vegetable gardens. Adventure Ready: On-site marked walking tracks and access to a marked mountain bike trail running right past the property. 🌲 Exploring the Local Area Crows Nest National Park (7 mins away): Stunning granite gorges, eucalyptus forests, and scenic waterfalls. Crows Nest Town (10 mins away): Charming local cafes, historic spots, and supplies. 📋 Know Before You Book (Important Site Rules) 🍃 Off-Grid Living: We run sustainably on solar power and harvested rainwater. Come ready to unplug, unwind, and enjoy authentic Australian high-country camping! Terrain Note: As we are on the Great Dividing Range, campsites are on a slope. Camper trailers, vans, and RVs should pack leveling ramps. Check-In: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM (No late arrivals allowed to protect the nocturnal wildlife). Age Requirement: At least one guest per booking must be 18 years or older. Pets: Pets are allowed, however please keep your pet on a lead to help to protect local native wildlife (including our resident shy wallabies). Leave No Trace: No rubbish bins are provided. Please take all garbage and recycling with you, and keep food secured at night from curious critters. Fire Safety: Open fires are subject to local fire bans/restrictions. Need something different? Lovely and very quiet.

The camp was quiet and secluded. It was close enough to your lovely host, yet far enough away too. Amenities were a short walk away, but not signposted (I understand this is about to change though). It’s a few km out of Crow’s Nest but easy enough to find. I’d recommend it if you like peace and quiet, and your own company. Thanks Mel, Rob
