We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. We go here atleast 6 times a yr to camp as we have season passes. Last yr Australia day we had to book through Hip Camp so I did this Christmas holidays as its very busy,I should have booked directly to stoney Park as Hip Camp nightly fee was higher and I couldn't use the showers ? I dont understand. We absolutely love the park but not Hip Camp for booking.

This was our second stay at Watton Airstrip and it’s just as special as the first. Camping among Tammie and Damo’s rescue horses roaming freely is a real privilege. We came with a camper trailer; the rocky track to the river is manageable, just air down your tyres for the trip back uphill. Even over Christmas when fully booked, the sites felt comfortable and generously spaced apart. Daily swims in the river, watching cod jump, the resident platypus at sunset, kangaroos feeding in the grasses and even a deer … it’s truly a place that nourishes the soul.
