We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation. I moved here from Sydney in 1987. In that time I have seen many changes. I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey. Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast. 5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead. The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting. Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter. Don't have a caravan, we have partnered up with Wrighty's Caravan Hire and Repairs. linktr.ee/wrightyscaravans. They offer family caravans delivered, setup ready for you to enjoy. Pets allowed but you must have on lead when walking around the property near cattle. Note a maximum of 2 dogs per camp site. Rules: 1. I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey. Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast. 5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead. The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting. Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter. Great campsite by the river, the site was super well kept with clean toilets and enough activities for families to come along with kids and keep them entertained. The generosity of Rick and Cheryl was outstanding. My partner and I felt safe and was greatly appreciated of the hospitality. Firewood was offered once arrived and sites were clearly marked, with supplied fire pits. We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Bundilla site 2 with power, it was a spacious grassy site close to toilets and river access. The river is amazing to swim and kayak in and was very refreshing and a great temperature! Kayaks are provided free of charge which is fantastic. The toilets are spotless and clean and we appreciated the herb garden which you are welcome to pick from. There are small fire pits for use at the camp site. Rick and Cheryl were both friendly and helpful and we'd love to visit again one day.

Camping at Jila Campgrounds was an experience. The mountain-perched site with river frontage is perfect, lovely for kayaking or just unwinding by the water. They provide toilets and showers, which makes things comfortable. The campground feels very safe, even for solo campers, and it’s pet-friendly so Kyoto was happy exploring. One great thing: there’s no reception or mobile signal, which is ideal if you want to disconnect. Just make sure you save all your important notes offline before you arrive. The owner was super helpful. When our car broke down, he helped us get it working again. That kind of support made a big difference. A word of caution: during a short but heavy rain with strong wind, a nearby car was struck by a falling tree. It’s wise to camp a little distance from large trees if the weather turns. Overall, I really like this place: mountain views, riverside calm, and a helpful owner. It’s about an hour from us, and we’d definitely go back.

Fabulous place. So much space that no matter how many people are camping you still have plenty of room. A couple of toilets and a shower were an added bonus. Alana was looking after the property while the owners were away and did an exceptional job. She visited everyone to check if we needed anything a few times a day. She was particularly happy to visit us because we had our Newfoundland Gracie with us 😊We will definitely visit again. Also love that it is only 25 minutes from home 😀

There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here. Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied. Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control. Enjoy lovely grassed areas with ample shade for your camper-van, roof top tent, free standing tent or swag. We have seven (7) acres of fully fenced grassy paddocks, with mostly shaded open areas. We have a 2 night minimum and a 5 night maximum stay at both listings. We're located very close to Blueys Beach where you can stroll along the shore, go for a swim or help the kids build sandcastles. It’s a flat walk from your campsite, only minutes away along the footpath (approximately 350 metres) to local restaurants, cafes and shops. Those visiting with their furry family member can enjoy the nearest dog friendly beach within council regulated hours just a further 150 down the path. You can enjoy access to flushable toilets x 2 and a singular hot shower and a singular cold shower for those after the beach days, please BYO toiletries. We ask that you place all of your rubbish in the bins provided .. we can take your recyclable cans and bottles for the Earn and Return program. To clarify .. YES we have a garbage bin for general waste only .. no recycling bin. We allow campfires when it is safe. ALL fires must be contained in a fire pit. Absolutely no fires are to be lit on the open grass. WE have fire pits for hire and bagged firewood is available for purchase on site .. all fire pits brought onto the property for use by guests will be subject to the discretion of the property owners. All fires and fire pits must be "OK'd" with the property owners prior to lighting, what we're looking for is clearance from the ground to the base of the fire pit .. the greater distance the better. Fires can only be lit in accordance with NSW Rural Fire Services fire restrictions or total fire bans. We've had multiple patches of our buffalo lawn scorched to beyond charcoal by careless guests .. you must ask the hosts / property owners before lighting any fires .. unnecessary burnt patches of lawn may result in you and your guests leaving!! We ask you to please note: ** UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT TAKE ANY CARAVANS .. HYBRID CARAVANS .. MOTOR HOMES .. RV'S .. FIFTH WHEELER's .. BUSES INCLUDING MERCEDES SPRINTERS of any size .. mainly the footprint of these types of vehicles is far too great .. once again we're only a grassy paddock not a caravan park. Standard size camper trailers and camper-vans, roof top tents are all completely fine. If your bus is longer than 4 meters in length, over 2 meters in height and/ or width with a tare weight of 3 tonne or over SORRY BUT IT IS A NO!! If your camper trailer is wider than 2.5 meters or longer than 4.5 metres in length inclusive of the drawbar .. SORRY BUT ITS A NO!! If you have a Jayco of any description .. regardless of length / width OR what the "registration papers say" .. SORRY BUT IT IS STILL A NO!! - If you have solar panels to charge you might have to chase the sun a little, as there are plenty of shaded areas which is perfect come summer. We do not allow the use of "Slackline or Tightropes" strung between our trees, it causes them to be ringbarked after a prolonged use .. meaning they die in the long run .. rope clotheslines and hamocks perfectly ok on the palms, sheoaks and paperbarks!! - Dogs are permitted here however they must be friendly off leash and must NOT chase my pets which include horses, goats , dogs and our pet chooks. Please pick up after your pooch .. as a courtesy to other guests and also to us, it doesn't happen in a caravan park .. please do the right thing here!! PLEASE ADVISE US UPON BOOKING IF YOU ARE BRINGING A PET/PETS!! - There are animals that live here and they occasionally make animal noises. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store. Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations. We do have a bathtub’s on four sites. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week Thurs-Sun, just 10kms up the road providing last-minute supplies, ice, bottle shop, and cafe services. Please note: Due to our location bookings may be canceled at short notice in times of bad weather due to flooding, limited access, fire or flood warnings. We trust you will understand we are only looking out for your safety and of course, Hipcamp credits will be arranged.

200 acres of scenic farm paddocks with seasonal creek, and forested hills adjoining the Bournda National Park. See kangaroos, wallabies and wombats and if you are lucky an echidna or deer! Horses also live here and are separate from the camping area. We accept only a small number of campers to ensure everyone has a few acres each and peace and quiet to enjoy the natural surroundings. Sites are generally more secluded as go from 1 to 10. All sites are walking distance to a composting toilet. Showers are near the entry to the camping areas of the farm, behind the green water tank. Our property is an operating farm with cattle and horses. Native wildlife and vegetation, wooded and cleared areas, dams, a waterfall and running creek in wetter seasons, hilly and undulating paddocks. Wedge-tail eagles, owls, cockatoos and galahs, kangaroos and echidnas are all regular visitors here. This is an appreciation of the Australian bush and primary production scenery. Each of our sites are completely private from each other, from our homestead and from neighbours. From your site take in views of the valley dotted with crops and grazing stock. Pot some yabbies, cool off in a dam, keep your eyes peeled for snakes and echidnas. Explore local areas such as Nundle (45 minutes to gold panning and the Woollen Mill) and Currabubula (30 minutes to the Curra pub), visit Goonoo Goonoo Station (magnificently restored and renovated historic sheep and cattle station now also an event centre and restaurant) and Dungowan Brewery (30 minutes to remodelled shearing-shed-come-restaurant and farm animal zoo). Church on Sundays is at St Lukes at 9:00am (7 minutes to local evangelical Anglican and morning tea is served). Four wheel drive access only. Maximum speed 20kms per hour. No power. No running water. No amenities. Please bring your own waste management which can be deposited to the green lid bin at the front gate. Campfires strictly only between 1 July and 1 September and never on a windy day.

Within 3 hours drive of Sydney and around an hour from the Barrington National Parks, Newcastle, Maitland, Forster and Nelson Bay, it makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway! We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river. There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing. All sites are site only and no toilet or shower facilities are provided. Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Endless gullies, mountains, forests, cliffs, and caves to explore on the property or on the crown land adjoining. An amazing amount of wildlife - Birds, wombats, kangaroos of all kinds (wallaby, wallaroo, eastern greys etc), goannas, echidnas, turtles, ducks just to name a few. There are also plenty of roads to ride and explore via mountain bike or foot. The road in is a little rough, and there is only a small amount of levelled land. But it is still an amazing spot, where nature does all the hard work, and I would love to share it with people. This is the perfect place for those who want to be in total peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Each campsite is private, where by you're the only camper able to book the site. Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.
