Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

The Hideout 4WD Only
The hideout was an amazing spot on the water with plenty of privacy and a couple curious horses roaming around which was an bonus. We didn’t interact much with Damien and Tammie but they checked in to make sure we had everything that we needed which was great

Perfect getaway!!
The perfect place to rest and reset! We were welcomed to the property by Damo and his nephew who were both so friendly and helpful. Damo showed us to our spacious, clean and open site which was extremely well maintained and level. We were at ‘The Beach’ which was such a quiet, peaceful and private camp site. We woke up to horses and Alpacas roaming around our site which we all loved as it felt like a real farm stay. The work that Damo has put into the property is exceptional and we can’t wait to get back and see the finished camp kitchen and cabin. Damo could not be any more accommodating and is one of the friendliness hosts we have ever met. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back in the future!! Thanks Damo and Tammie for a truely relaxing weekend.

What a fantastic spot for a camp, Damo and Tammie are just the best hosts, so good to chat with them over the weekend, our first time here with friends and had such a great time, can’t wait to return and kick back with friends and enjoy the fire and port again. Tom Bell

Such welcoming beautiful hosts. Apart from the ones on the hill the rest of the sites are all along the river. Plenty of space between areas. We will definitely be back in warmer weather to swim and hopefully see the platypus’ !
