With its large, secluded Bush Campsites, 'Chapman Valley' is still Sydney's best-kept secret! Picture this. Your weekend escape is relaxed from the very start - the car trip along the scenic winding Putty Road is slow and leisurely as you know you can arrive at any time for the self serve check-in. After signing in, you meander through this Beef Cattle farm, heading to your own designated camping area. A private corner of the property all to yourselves! After setting up camp, and showing off your awesome (of course) campfire lighting skills, you sink back in your camp-chair and listen to ...the bush. And you see ...the bush. Not a single other camper in site. Oh, except the ones you invited with you of course! There they are. The kids running enthusiastically across the open paddock chasing after their footy, with Buster, the family dog happily nipping at their heels. "They'll sleep well tonight!" you think to yourself happily, as you sink further into your camp-chair and take a long drink on that ice cold beer. 1hr drive from the nearest town (Singleton), "Chapman Valley" is the perfect oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. There are no nearby shops so be sure to bring everything with you. The property offers over 100kms of bush tracks ideal for walking, push-bike riding or 4WDing. On site-horse riding is available, offering rides ranging from 1hr family rides to full day experienced rides. Check out our website for a full list of offerings. The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Sites available for all vehicle types, from buses and large caravans to fully kitted out off-road vehicles. We offer a self check-in service with full maps and directions, which means you can arrive anytime you like. Free early check-in and late check-out: Check-in anytime from sunrise and check-out anytime before sunset so you can make the most of your getaway.

Our 'Communal Campsite' is a very large designated paddock shared with other campers. The Communal area is best for those wanting to camp within walking distance to the Amenities Block. But don't be fooled, this shared area still beats camping in a caravan park. Unlimited space - no campsite boundaries. Stretch out as much as you like and you can park your car at your site, whether there's one car or twenty, there's still plenty of room! Amenities include flushing toilets and hot showers. Min. of 3-night stay on Easter long weekend. Picture this. Amazing spot! No campers within 6km. Essentially had the entire property to ourselves, roos and some cattle. Was a clear night with plenty of stars out. Will 100% be back

I wouldn’t recommend this campsite. 1. The place doesn’t look as green and lush as the photos show — it was actually very dry. 2. Our site was listed as “private,” but in reality, there were other numbered sites right across the road and next to us. The area was quite small and definitely not as private as we expected. 3. Most importantly, there was cow manure everywhere and so many flies that it was impossible to enjoy the outdoors. 4. When I booked, it was stated that we could use the shared amenities and were only recommended to bring our own toilet. However, we were not allowed to wash our dishes in the amenities area, which was quite inconvenient. We definitely won’t be coming back.

A Truly Private Escape

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at this private bush camp, and when they said private, they truly meant it. It was just us and the cows, no other campers in sight. You’re completely surrounded by nature. Peaceful, quiet, and beautifully secluded. Our pups get a bit anxious around strangers, so having the whole place to ourselves was such a huge plus. Each morning we woke up to the sounds of nature, and each night ended with a campfire under a sky full of stars. The site is clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. If you’re looking to truly disconnect and unwind, this is the perfect spot. We really hope it stays as private and serene as it is now.

Communal Campsite

I loved that the communal campsite is not crowded. You can camp anywhere. The campground is well maintained. Staffs are very friendly and accommodating. The check in process is very smooth, professional, and organised. They are very responsive to emails and other inquiries via hipcamp or direct email. This gave us so much peace of mind especially leading up to the day of the camp. They email so many important information about the camp rules, check in process, and the directions to the camp site. This will definitely be one of our favourite campsites. It’s not just a campground, it’s home away from home.

We had a great time camping in one of the private campsites, so much space, we had a creak with water which was very nice, and close enough to the toilets if you needed them. We loved the horse riding, and just had a great time camping at Chapman Valley.

Communal Campsite

We loved camping at Chapman Valley. We had a great little spot. The location, off grid, serenity was all our group needed for a weekend away. Fantastic customer service from all the folks at the office. Such kind and approachable staff. Loved being close to nature and enjoyed the 4wd off road exploration to see the amazing natural beauty of the land. Horses were beautiful, great for kids and families and friends to share and make memories.

We stayed at Skidders Arm 2 cmapsite and it was just beautiful! Nice and private, well marked out and signposted with easy to follow directions. The site has a nice flat clearing, surrounded by beautiful trees on one side and a bit of a bluff on another, it was just magic down there. Our dog and toddler had a ball! We purchased firewood and it was waiting for us at the site when we arrived. It was well seasoned and stress free. I went for the morning horse ride as well and the staff were wonderful, they really love their horses. The ride was gorgeous! Will definitely be back, thank you!

We stayed at skidder arm 2 campsite for 2 nights and it was so private! Beautiful land, great 4wd tracks if your cars can handle it and we even got to witness a cow giving birth! Kids had a ball! Will definitely visit again!

Second time camping here. First time was in the communal area but decided to go further into the property this time in the 4wd only area. It was great to not hear another soul while there and be able to get away from it all. Area we were allocated was nice and open but also had some bushland behind us. Kids loved seeing kangaroos bounce by and cows roaming around us. There were a few fresh cow patties which were all around our camp area so needed to watch where we stepped at times and made it hard to kick a soccer ball around but thats nature I suppose. Overall its a great place and I will be bringing the kids back for a 3rd time!

We stayed at Pigs Run 1 and absolutely loved it! Staff was very friendly and accommodating, the walk to toilet block wasn't that bad either (15mins), the animals were absolutely lovely aswell. Definitely get the $120 firewood bundle as it's a steal for the amount of wood you get. Our site was really secluded aswell which made for an awesome time.

We recently stayed at Old Man’s Place #3 in Chapman Valley, one of the beautiful designated campsite spots, and it was an amazing experience, even for first-time campers! The area is serene, well-spaced, and thoughtfully set up to give you privacy and connection to nature. Toilets and other essential facilities are just a short trip toward the entrance, making it easy while still feeling completely off-grid. At night, the sky is absolutely breathtaking, perfect for stargazing and the peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place to unwind. During the day, you're surrounded by stunning landscapes and native bushland. You can also book horse riding during your stay, which is a fun and memorable activity. Important to note: there is no phone reception here. It’s a great chance to truly disconnect, be present, and spend quality time with loved ones, away from all distractions. Highly recommended if you're looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a grounded, beautiful getaway

Amazing, friendly staff. Amazing property. Awesome to have firewood delivered to our site. The kids enjoyed their horse ride. The cattle and horses are just gorgeous and looked after so well. The property is great to drive around on 4x4 track. We can’t wait to go back again!

We absolutely loved our stay at this campsite! It was the perfect picturesque spot for my family and our puppy — peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by open grassy areas that made it feel so comfortable and relaxing. The site itself was spotless and well-maintained, with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. The team was super lovely and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time camping at Chapman valley! The communication was excellent and directions were easy to understand and follow. The camp area was well maintained and we had visits from the cows! We will definitely be booking again! ☺️

We had a very peaceful stay. Loved the wildlife and so great to be able to have our dog off lead in the remote site. Stunning surroundings. We will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chapman Valley. It was lovely knowing people were around but far enough away that it feels private and secluded. The property was fantastic, loved 4WD and exploring the huge property and saying hi to the horses.

Super lovely spot just a short drive from Sydney city. Well kept grounds and very helpful staff for any questions or needs. We had one of the private sites and it felt nice and isolated while still being a 20min walk back to front office for firewood, toilets, showers. Highly recommend!

We camped in one of the 4WD camping site. We loved everything about the place. Very private bush camping around the woods away from the traffic and social media. Other campsites were very far away, we loved it and willing to revisit soon. Next time we will come with mountain bike as we missed it this time. Recommend everyone for their private and

Private Bush Campsite - 2WD access

We loved our time camping at Chapman Valley. We were allocated Green Wattle Arm 5, and it was just perfect! Our dog had the most amazing time with lots of space. It was very private. Communication was spot on, our spot was easy to find and we had preordered our firewood. We explored the property via 4wD , and saw lots of wildlife along the way. We will definitely be back. 10/10!
