We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle. 2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach Bennett Beach 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach. Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here. Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied. Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. If in doubt call. 5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. This year the weather has been terrible. From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow. 6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure. 7) We cannot control the wind, the sun, rain, or lack of rain.Dogs must be on a leash all the time in the campground . Closest National Park is about 10 mins from here. (2 min drive, 10 min walk) For those who are into stargazing we have a particularly good location with no light contamination from cities, industry or neighbours.  Combined with being on top of a hill that has 360 degree view of the night sky.   Bring your telescope and you will be blown away. We had an amazing time staying at Mei’s! The area is quiet and remote and the views are amazing! We arrived a day late due to flight cancellations and Mei offered us an extra night for free which was very kind. She was very accommodating and made everything very clear for us. Shower and toilet facilities are great and showers were nice and warm. Fridges are very useful for storing food and freezers had ice lollies for guests which was a nice touch! Would 100% recommend staying here. Thanks Mei!

Absolutely loved Fame Mountain Camp! Mei and her husband were super friendly, communicative, and flexible. Great facilities – including homely bathrooms, communal fridges, free firewood. View from the mountain was amazing, quiet but convenient location with Coles, bottle'o and beaches nearby. Nice spacing between the campsites so the camping experience feels more authentic and private, more immersed in nature with the surrounding forestry compared to other campsites that are packed with trailers, caravans, and tents side-by-side.

I loved the high ground camp area with beautiful view. Sunset was amazing. Facilities was great and Mei is very friendly and nice. Huge place with a lot of potential to grow. Will visit again to see more.

Incredible scenery and views of the valley from the campsite. Facilities were great and the family running the property were super friendly and helpful. Access to fridges was great for organizing dinners and the access to firewood made the trip that much more enjoyable. Watching the sunset from the campsite was absolutely divine.

The views are truly amazing, and the hosts are exceptionally nice. The amenities provided, including the toilet and shower, wood and fire pit, and tables and chairs, are excellent. As first time campers, we felt completely at ease! Would highly recommend!

Wonderful camping! Mei and family are amazing hosts. This was my dogs first camping and she had a blast. Free fire wood, running toilets and showers, easy access. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Fame Mountain! The view was incredible, and the whole place was so peaceful and private. The amenities also deserve a special mention — it felt like we were at a hotel! We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back. The upcoming building works look fantastic (kitchen/ shared space), and we can’t wait to see it all once it’s finished 😍

Really friendly owners. Toilets are nice and a few of them there so never waiting . On our spot we had large table and picnic bench plus shaded tree with a swing so was good for kids.

Pros: - Close (bit not too close0 to the highway (if on a long road trip). - Friendly hosts. - Great amenities (showers & toilets). - Stunning expansive view. - Appears to be expansion works to create more sites with a view. Cons: - Only 3 other campers when we arrived, yet it would have been crowded to get a site with a view. Had to settle for a subpar site close to the house and the shed. - A lot of junk / construction equipment in sight of the camp sites.

We had a lovely quiet time at Fame Mountain.. great facilities and plenty of space with a lovely view over to the hills. We took our (big) dog and he enjoyed being able to roam around offlead. Mei is a wonderful friendly host, as is John - there to welcome us and help if needed. They are doing quite a lot of work to develop and improve the site at the moment so it's sure to be even better in the future. Very close to Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest and yet you feel as if you're quite remote - wonderful dawn chorus from all the birds!

Epic views! Mei was lovely from the first message! First nights sunset was amazing. Little noisy during the day due to improvements being made to the property but was advertised. Plenty toilets and showers. We were the only ones there first night aswell which made it more special. Would recommend staying even just for 1 night.

Fame Mountain is a nice spot, although it got a bit overcrowded over the long weekend and most sites are fairly exposed to sun and wind. Communication with Mei leading up to the stay was great, but unfortunately our stay was tainted by John hitting one of our dogs with a golf club. We could have done a better job controlling the dogs, but John aggressively escalated the situation without warning and we felt shaken and unsafe after the incident. Would not recommend to anyone with dogs, or young children.

The hosts were lovely, however, the campground looked like an in use quarry. There were very few trees and the earthmoving equipment was ugly. The earth works that were done on two of the days we were there (total 5) caused a great deal of dust and debris which ended up in our coffee and eyes. This seemed unacceptable for the price we paid ($94 per night, 3 people in 2 swags and a dog).

We had a great stay at Fame Mountain camp! John and Mei were very helpful and attentive, and the camp facilities were well maintained. The kids loved the free icy poles and the trampoline was a great way for them to meet the other camp kids. Some of the camp spots are quite exposed and we had some high winds on a couple of the days we were there but it was a fair trade off for the beautiful views, sunsets and sunrises! Dog friendly beaches were a convenient 20 minute drive away too. Would stay again, thank you!

Fantastic campsite! We loved camping here. It was very windy - a real test of the gazebo 😅 The views were beautiful, free firewood much appreciated, lovely setting and great location close to beaches. Our dogs also loved their stay. The kids had great fun on the trampoline. And the fridges and warm showers were a real bonus. Jon and Mei were great hosts. We’d love to come back.

Mei was very hospitable making sure we had what we needed. The grounds & views were beautiful. Very handy having many showers and toilets close to camp. Kids loved the endless zooper doopers Mei supplied in the freezer for them the grab whenever they needed one, they thought the trampoline & kayaks were heaps of fun as well. Water within close driving distance. Town also not far away.
