Welcome to The Ranch on Clarence. This is our family home, a working Australian ranch and the home of our much-loved horses and farm animals.
One of the most special parts of staying here is sharing the landscape with our free-roaming horses and experiencing authentic ranch life. We kindly ask that all guests help us create a peaceful, respectful and safe environment for everyone.
During Your Stay
Please arrive during your nominated check-in time. If you expect to arrive late, we'd appreciate a quick message.
Please respect the privacy of other campers by keeping noise to a minimum, particularly during the early morning and evening.
Leave your campsite clean and tidy, taking all rubbish with you or placing it in the designated bins.
Campfires are permitted only in designated fire pits and only when local fire restrictions allow. Never leave a fire unattended.
Our Horses & Animals
Our horses are treasured members of our ranch family.
Please help us care for them by following these simple guidelines:
DO NOT feed the horses or any other animals. Our horses are on carefully managed diets and unsuitable food can make them seriously unwell.
For your safety, never feed horses while they are together as a herd. Even the quietest horses can become excited around food and may crowd people or compete with one another, creating a potentially dangerous situation.
If you would like to meet or interact with the horses, please speak with us first. We are always happy to introduce you when it is safe and appropriate.
Allow our horses to approach you in their own time and always respect their personal space.
Please do not run, scream, chase, throw objects at or deliberately startle any horses or other animals.
Leave gates exactly as you found them and do not enter paddocks or restricted areas unless invited by a member of The Ranch team.
Please respect our fences, gardens, equipment, wildlife and fellow guests.
Children
Children are very welcome at The Ranch and remain the responsibility of their parent or legal guardian at all times.
Please ensure children are supervised throughout their stay and do not:
Run or play around horses or livestock.
Chase, frighten or attempt to ride any animals.
Climb fences or enter paddocks without permission.
Open gates.
Feed any animals.

Sylva Lagoons is a 570 acre beef cattle and native timber producing farm, which we, Pete and Elaine bought seven years ago, for somewhere beautiful and peaceful for our retirement.

The lagoon at the campground is over 10 acres of water, with native forest on three sides. It is great for canoeing or bushwalking and our bird life is spectacular.

Dylans Park View is pet friendly and offers an off leash dog run.
When not in the dog run, all dogs need to be on a leash.
There is also a couple of swings for the children to play on whilst the adults sit back and relax.

There are no showers or toilets, so your camping needs to be fully self sufficient.

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat
One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking.,
Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. But if your dog is not friendly or is likely to venture into someone else camping area, than will have to be on a leash.
If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them.
One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities.
Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m high waterfall, nature at it's best. In the vicinity you have the Clarence river at Paddy's Flat Road and Hootons Road within minutes drive from the property.
The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road.
Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away.
Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km.
Once a working cattle property, in 1993 was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise.
Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property.
The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Glendaryn, our property, is located 30 kms west of Kyogle and 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Featuring 35 acres consisting mainly of creek flats on the banks of Iron Pot Creek, a permanent creek which runs from nearby Toonumbar dam, this place is perfect to pitch a tent.
The dam is only 2 km away and has a boat ramp. Iron Pot provides scenic camping spots with fishing (bass and cat fish), swimming, hiking, kayaking and there are bush roads nearby suitable for horse riding.
Fresh drinking water and a pit toilet is available at the shed .
Bring your horse and put up a yard or safe yards are available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are controlled and don’t chase our horses and the local wild life.
There are a variety of camping sites near the creek and also one on the hill overlooking the flats. Creek side spots are dry weather only as the flat can become boggy or you can walk in around 200 metres from road. The property is 2WD accessible.

We are on a 180 acre cattle farm situated along a running creek with swimming holes. Surrounded by pristine pine trees and natives. We are roughly 15 minutes from all 3 surrounding towns Kyogle, Casino and Lismore. We are also only an hour away from the beach for any day trips planned.
Great spot to stop for the night on your trip or stay for a weekend and take in the peace and quiet. We are easy to pull into and can cater for all size vans. Roads are all freshly gravelled and well maintained to cater for 2wd access also.
Toilet and Water provided but respect us by taking your own rubbish with you.
Beautiful little stream with rapids and rock holes to keep yourself cool in summer.
More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you.
No 4wding is permitted on the farm.
Animal feeding is an activity we provide with food available to buy for the animals.
Firewood is also available to purchase on arrival

Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops.
Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle.
This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest.
Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We love animals, but one of the reasons we left suburbia was to get away from barking dogs. If your dog barks at night, or is not we’ll socialised, you’re best to leave pooch at home!

This is our second time camping at CRWL. Our favourite spot is the main camp flat. It’s open for plenty of sunshine and great for solar charging. The fire pits are spread apart enough to be a large distance to the next camper. The river is sensational to swim in the summer. And in the winter you can still enjoy the river with the canoes. The toilets and showers are well maintained. Property owners Steven and Sharon are wonderful. We absolutely loved our stay at On The Clarence Camping. The facilities were very clean, there was plenty of space to set up your camp and there were fire pits with literally every campsite. Would highly recommend for the serenity, the spaciousness and fabulous farm and river views!

Camped here for a birthday weekend with friends and had an amazing time. The hosts are very friendly and happy to answer any questions or to have a chat with.
They were more than happy to accommodate for my group being naturally noisier than some other groups and we had the Rapids and Ironbark campsites to ourselves!
The facilities were amazing and there is so much to do including taking in all the amazing landscapes - we took a lot of photos haha.
We are hoping to be back soon as we didn’t get to do nearly everything we wanted to. You could easily stay a week and not be bored!

The Broken Rock campsite is absolutely spectacular and even the drive in (and the views on the drive) are worth the cost. Just make sure you have a 4WD with low range. The river is absolutely pristine. Walking down it and swimming in it were a real treat and I saw lots of beautiful wildlife. When we arrived at the site the fellas congratulated me on the best HipCamp site they had ever seen. I will most certainly be back.

We had a fantastic time camping at the cascades site. Private, quiet and entirely relaxing.
We towed in our opus op4 with no problems despite the at times steep and winding driveway for the last 6ish km!
My boys loved the canoes and the ability to pick up their own firewood!
We would definitely come back, hopefully in spring/summer when we can have a swim!

Incredible views of the river, access to kayaks and canoes and wildlife in abundance.
We saw Greater Gliders, Bilbies, Wild Boar (babies! Super cute), Pademelons, Kangaroos, Platypus and Turtles.
The bell tents were beautiful with comfy beds.

The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge is by far the best bush camping spot near Brisbane. The drive in is glorious. The campsite itself is absolutely spectacular. Camping by the Clarence is so tranquil. So much space for each group because the number of campers is restricted. Never crowded in like sardines. Heaps and heaps of space. Fires are a bonus especially in winter time. The free canoes and kayaks for everyone to use on the one kilometre stretch of permanent waterhole on the river is an added bonus. Very rare to be able to just sit in your camp chair and spend hours marvelling at your surrounds, feels like you're sitting in a natural amphitheatre. The bird life is incredible. The rock wallabies are always entertaining. The platypus are adorable. Hiking along the ridge tops is amazing. The hosts Steve and Sharon are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Enough said, absolutely superb destination.
