Located, just 25 minutes from the pristine beaches of Yamba and Iluka. Across the river and just 15 minutes from the Scottish town of Maclean, nestled high in the Yamba hinterland. You will not hear traffic, you will not see headlights. Pure peace and tranquility for you to relax, chill and enjoy. The sites are surrounded by rugged mountainous bush land with views, trails, cliffs, 3 creeks to explore and includes a private lake ‘Lake Arid’ with its own island, ‘Dead Dog Island’. Swim, paddle, fish, play. Metres away is another private swimming hole ‘Pants Off Pond’ stocked with Silver Perch and Bass. So whether you indulge in pants off, or leave them on and just fish it’s up to you. Explore a little further and you’ll find ‘The Abyss’ a former micro quarry, 9m deep waterhole. The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike. The sites are site only. You’ll need to take care of your waste, water, rubbish and power. Generator is ok, we’re out of earshot, so is everyone else. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground. Remember, fires this time of year are for ‘cooking only’, so be sure to bring those marshmallows… Pet Friendly, 4WD friendly with a bunch of serious challenges too… Horse friendly too, yep, there’s a yard to keep them too, up by the house. Accessible by 2WD with sites with enough space for any size caravan or motor home. While exploring, if you find a spot you’d rather camp, simply ask. We live on the property so help is nearby for any issues and the access road is shared. Peace, quiet and nature abounds.

I have dedicated 77 acres of it as a wildlife sanctuary, it is a member of the Wildlife Land Trust and has joined the Land for Wildlife environmental community. To date there is a property bird list worthy of a small National Park for all you keen birders out there. To date I have been busy regenerating previously cleared land from farming and the 2019 bush fire with native plants local to this area in the 100's. My aim is to surround most of the property in wildlife friendly fencing, regenerate the flora and create a fauna corridor as a wildlife safety zone from the wetlands to the road and to create a tranquil little space for nature appreciative people to stop and a take a rest. Only a small number of campsites which ensures that you have space to spread out, light a fire, play ball, have fun. We have a toilet and water. Suits tent camping, camper vans, caravans or vehicles. Plenty of room for boat parking if needed. You are welcome to bring your dog, as long as it is under control, and cannot chase our kangaroos. Birdlife in abundance as well, including 3 Wedgetail eagles on occasions. In order to provide a quiet environment for everyone we ask that there be no loud music at night. Solum farm is unbelievably beautiful, well kept pristine farm. It has big gumtree plantations and state Forrest that are home to amazing wildlife that live in the area. Sit and listen to the many different bird calls or stumble upon some echidnas this place with surprise you every day. It’s also close to Yamba and iluka for fishing or a 4wd beach run so it’s the perfect base for that. Mike a sheryl are good easy going people who generally want you to see the beauty they see in the place and will go out of their way to make sure you are looked after and will supply you with free firewood! How good the amenities are a huge bonus shower and toilet with a bush view. A pocket of paradise 😎

The cabin is well maintained and was very clean. Ngaio was welcoming and friendly. Provided milk and eggs, plus all the condiments. Little snack draw as well. The animals are so friendly and don’t come into your space. Absolute amazing weekend. Would definitely come back. I have recommended this to a friend who is planning to stay a couple weekends from now.

This is our 2nd stay here and won't be our last. It has easy access from the road then through a gate and pick your site which are all marked. We were the only people there on our stay. There are toilets, firewood to purchase and each site has a fireplace. There are some friendly cows and sheep. Don't hesitate to stay here, you'll love it.

What a magical piece of land, and how lucky we are the owners are willing to open up their home and share it with others. Carolyn and Peter were wonderful hosts, communicated clearly on the app, met us on arrival and drove us to the site, set up the fire pit with fire wood (and checked if we needed it replenished) and provided delicious macadamias for us to enjoy. Very warm and welcoming. Hubby and I were lucky to be the only human visitors on our weekend away, but we were joined by many kangaroos throughout the day and saw at least 15 bird species on the property and surrounds, including yellow tailed blacked cockatoos. The town Maclean is quaint and it's friendly locals are more than happy to help with any questions. We regretted not taking our fishing rods and trying our luck in the Clarence River. Maclean golf course was lovely and well maintained, very chilled atmosphere with more beautiful wildlife. Short drive to picturesque coastal towns and yummy fresh seafood, whale season on our visit so lucky enough to see a few off the lighthouse lookout at Yamba. The local show grounds (on South Arm River) have a dump point, was handy to pull in and empty our waste before the trip home - just be careful of the driveway when you exit - unpredictability steep, we bottomed out on our tow bar. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back to this property, highly recommend.

River Terrace was a great spot for our 2 night stop off. Bob was a great host. The kids had a ball exploring the property. Sunsets were beautiful. Downside was the road noise at night was a little loud at times but nothing to bad. Would stay again.

Site 6 was a great spot but would be the best in summer as it was in the shade. Toilets and shower was great and Bob was a great host who came and had a beer and chat with us the first night of our 2 night stay. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hosts in James and Jodee. Super well maintained camp areas. Terrific communication. Amazing hospitality. 3 old mates having a catch up, a campfire, a few beers and a fish. A great weekend. Thanks folks.

This is an excellent small private camp on the river. The grounds are so neat and tidy and and two immaculately clean flushing toilet is provided as well. We didnt want to leave! We would highly recommend this camp and will come back again.

Weekend Trip to Mororo Hobby Farm

exceptionally clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely bedding. We had an excellent sleep. There's an undercover outdoor verandah plus a fire pit which was ready to light. That was a great! We appreciated that. Ngaio has some very cute animals who all come and visited us at of front door. 2 poddy calves, friendly chooks, peacocks and we got to meet a little baby goat. Highly recommend this accomodation. We would like to stay again. Thank you so much.
