We stayed at Site 2, which is a powered site. It was spacious and serene. Loved being able to have a campfire all throughout the stay. We all had a great time in the river, swimming, kayaking and just relaxing. Cheryl went out of her way to set up a Christmas are for the kids with some farm animals. Overall a great stay and definitely recommended.

Had a wonderful 4 nights at Rick and Cheryl’s Hipcamp. Definitely put this one on your list. They were amazing hosts, delivered firewood and fresh eggs to us that you can order. The creek was awesome, toilet’s immaculate ( I was a little afraid to go knowing they were drop toilets, and oh boy, wasn’t I pleasantly surprised) They have bikes, kayaks, pizza oven, campfire pits all available for guests to use. Our son loved the animal feeding in the afternoon. This place is a little gem and the price wow!!! We will definitely be coming back. Thanks so much for having us 😊

The campground is great. Nice grassed big sites, giving you plenty of room. The river is great for swimming kayaking or just laying around in. The farm animal tour is also great for the whole family not just the kids. The owners are very accommodating. I will definitely be going back.

Weekend Trip to Fernbank Creek - Port Macquarie

We loved staying here with our campervan. We have a large dog who was able to have some long lead freedom. It was lovely and private whilst still being on someone’s property, very private and quiet. Loved waking up to the birds chirping in the trees around us. Felt very safe. Plus we had internet which was handy for a cooler night in the van with a movie, all windows were open with a beautiful breeze.

Perfect, you could not find a better campsite. Rick & Cheryl are the most accommodating hosts and take good care. The site offers heeps of space to relax and enjoy or adventure. Kayaking the river, a pizza oven, and additional extras when available eggs, honey, washing, firewood and farm viewing. An absolutely amazing place, highly recommend for everyone looking to relax and enjoy the quiet scenery.

Definitely one of if not the best Hipcamps that we have stayed at. We stayed on site 5 which has open access to the river which made for great fishing. Angela is an awesome host and she keeps the property immaculate. Definitely going to become a regular place for us to visit.

We enjoyed our stay at this location. This was our first off grid stay and it all went well, except for a few windy days. We did a bit of fishing on the first day with only a few bites. Explored around South West Rocks and the RSL. Overall we would recommend.

Beautiful camping on pristine grasslands that back onto the Bongil Bongil National Park. Cows with Guns MTB park and Sawmill are close by as well. Enjoy the splendid views or walk through the bush which, also has the biggest tree in the area. With fishing available and plenty of horse trails around, there is plenty to do. Come camp along the beautiful Wilson River on a working cattle property. Shady, grassy campsites by a flowing river, just 25 minutes drive from Port Macquarie. Check in time is strictly prior to 7pm. The camp area includes toilets, a basic camp shed, where campers can make use of the picnic table, stainless steel food preparation bench and camp fire pit. There are only 2 sites available with power which is included in the site price. Check out our discount for single travelers and extras like eggs and firewood. Fresh honey also available sometimes during the year. Toilet block newly built. Early check in and late checkout available on request. Laundry services available on request. If you have 3 or more children please call me for a discount. Also we have a huge discount for single travels. Kids will love the farm tour (4.45pm to 5.30pm daily) for the feeding of chickens, horse, sheep and goats. It's an excellent area for mountain bike riding as well! Kayaks available for free. Don't have a caravan, we have partnered up with Wrighty's Caravan Hire and Repairs. linktr.ee/wrightyscaravans. They offer family caravans delivered, setup ready for you to enjoy. Pets allowed but you must have on lead when walking around the property near cattle. Note a maximum of 2 dogs per camp site. Rules: 1. For the piece and quiet of other campers all check-ins must be before 4.30pm during the colder months. Check ins after 7pm may be turned away in busy times. 2. Only 15 mins drive from the town of Macksville, 45 minutes from Coffs Harbour, 45 minutes from Port Macquarie and 20 minutes or so (but who counts) from the famous Pub With no Beer (which does have beer). This property is extremely private with a number of camp sites that have you feeling like the rest of the world no longer exists. There are six dams and views to the coast (from the top of the hill). You get to share it with a couple of horses and a few cows but it's ok they don't like sleeping in tents or caravans. Sunsets, sunrises and night time star gazing. It's an ideal place to de-stress and reconnect with nature. Welcoming self - contained campers who bring there own amenities. There is access to drinking water but otherwise everything is BYO and take away all your rubbish please. You can choose to either be completely secluded and away from everyone. 4WD access or walk in with tents. Or you can set up closer to the entrance road and roadway (more suitable to caravans). There are lovely walks on the property itself or go for a casual stroll up the dirt road but watch out for the 3 or 4 cars every couple of hours or so. Views are amazing, air is incredible and the night sky is breathtaking. Campfires are possible but only in some months. The ideal place to get away from it all but close enough to Coffs Coast Tourist attractions, including amazing places to eat. Your pet is welcome to camp with you, but please do not let them stray onto neighbours' farms or chase stock. They run the risk of being baited or shot. There is stock on the property so please leave all gates as you find them. If they are open they stay open. If closed they stay closed.

Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp.
