Located on the Camden Haven River in Dunbogan, we offer a select few grassy sites overlooking our private saltwater lake, with North Brother Mountain providing a stunning backdrop.
Please note that we welcome fully self-contained caravans and motorhomes — apologies but the sites are not really suitable for tents/swags. There is no water, power or ablution facilities on site. Grey water is not an issue.
Although the property spans several acres, we offer only a few sites to ensure serenity, space, and ample room to manoeuvre. All sites are on raised grassy ground among Moreton Bay figs and gum trees.
Freshwater dams and wetlands attract abundant wildlife, including kangaroos and a variety of birds. We love our free-range wildlife and hope you do too — therefore, we have a strict no-pet policy.
We’re close to Dunbogan Boatshed for coffee, Pilot and Dunbogan Beach, scenic lookouts, and shops just across the bridge in Laurieton township — making this camp both peaceful and convenient.
The Dunbogan area is perfect for swimming, walking, hiking, fishing, boating, kayaking, sightseeing, bushwalks, shopping, cycling, surfing, bird and nature watching, dining out, or simply relaxing on site.
If you’re here for New Year’s Eve, you can enjoy the 9 pm fireworks from the Laurieton United Services Club — all from the comfort of your camp chair (just don’t forget your glass of bubbles!).

Today we are a hobby farm with cows, horses - we invite you to say hello, but please don't feed any of the animals. If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage.
The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

If you value your privacy, then you are at the right place. We have just one exclusive campsite on our 40 acres. You are hidden away and guaranteed privacy from the host accommodations.
Private access is by 4WD only.
Farm route is accessible by 2WD in dry weather - check with hosts before or on confirmation of booking.
Access during unpredictable weather will depend on your vehicle/camper/caravan configuration. Please check with host prior if you are unsure. We are more than willing to make it work for you.
On arrival, guests are met by host and directed to the site.
Camp site is a secluded, grassy spot beside the creek, among tall gum trees, where you can enjoy peace and serenity. Perfect for families or group of friends. The creek has lovely shallow areas suitable for kids to splash and play in.
Occasionally you may see sea eagles soaring overhead, they nest in one of the trees along the creek beside your camp area.
Camp area has a composting drop toilet housed in an outback style 'dunny' shed. Fresh rainwater is available.
The site has a fire pit and some light fire wood laying around from fallen branches, plus mesh to place over the fire pit if you wish to use the fire for cooking. (There will always be smaller branches and kindling available for fires however, larger and longer burning wood is not guaranteed all season.)
Well behaved pets are welcome. You may be visited by some cattle during your stay...they will keep out of your way.
There are some large and unique trees to admire and keep your eye out for wildflowers that grow along the creek. There is an active eagle's nest in one of the trees.
Guests are welcome to explore down the creek where you'll find some great swimming holes.
For a relaxing stroll, guests are welcome to walk the farm fence lines which are regularly maintained with a mower.
There are so many beautiful local attractions to visit. Our local village is less than 2kms from the property where you will find Byabarra Cafe for excellent refreshments. Then a gorgeous drive up onto the plateau and you will find Comboyne village with a historic 1905 goal, Larrikins Lockup.
And if you are feeling more adventurous, Rawson Falls and Ellenborough Falls make lovely day trips. And Comboyne Rock provides some stunning views.
Upon arrival your host will provide you with an information pack on local attractions and general Hip Camp house rules and guidelines for your safety and enjoyment.

The Abundance Nursery and Cafe with it's splendid lily pond view is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a coffee and only 3 kms back along Rawdon Island road.
The pretty country town of Wauchope is only a 12 minute drive and is home to Timbertown, a theme park boasting steam train rides and a glimpse of the timber getting industry of a bygone era.
Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops.
A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through.
Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away.
And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. Stunning beaches, amazing walks, top class restaurants, the list goes on.

As we are located on the North Shore of Port Macquarie, and to access the property you must cross the river using the Settlement Point Ferry
The Hibbard Ferry operates (6am - 10am / 2pm-7pm) Mon -Fri and all day on Saturdays and Sundays is only 300 m from the campsite, making it easy to pop into town, explore Port Macquarie’s attractions, or visit the region’s wineries. For longer stays, a discounted ferry pass can be purchased on your behalf.
NOTE THERE IS A COST WHEN USING THE FERRY
North Shore Beach is a 5-minute drive away, and the local gin distillery is just a 15–20 minute drive up Maria River Road.

Christie’s camp is immaculate with all of the facilities you would ever need it is truly a glamping experience. This camp is ideal for first time campers or campers with the bare minimum as she has it all.

Where to begin - the facilities are awesome they feel almost brand new. The site is close enough to Port Macquarie it makes nipping in and out easy whilst still having the feeling of being off the grid. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves but even if the other site had been booked it still would have been nice. Chrissie is a massive legend and we will definitely be back. And last but not least Chrissie is lucky she wasn’t missing a dog when we left because we fell completely in love with Mr Ray (and the others) another gorgeous Kelpie just like ours. Honestly we had the best time . Thank you so so much x

Always a great stay. Unfortunately the weather and the fish weren’t overly friendly this time but we love our stay there. Always kept tidy. Great for a campfire on Site 1 no matter what the weather is thanks to the camp kitchen. Thanks Scott for keeping it all neat and tidy

We have a lovely time! Louise and Geoff were very kind and helpful. Kids loved the animals. Pool was clean. Geoff was very helpful with fishing. Stayed 4 nights and rode our bikes into town one day too! Would def stay again.

Only a one night stopper for us, but a welcome greeting and a lovely spot to set up on. Ensuite cabin was spot on and a nice change from our cramped shower inthe RV.
Recommend this stopover site to anyone.
Also, comms from booking to arriving were great.

A quick one night stay but perfect location by the river for a tent. Ann was very welcoming and communicative. Perfect distance between Sydney and Brisbane and quick detour off the motorway. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful open space with not a soul in sight.
Hosts were so lovely and we opted for the breaky basket which was a highlight! Definitely recommend.
Close to town but the camp site was dead quiet, you’d never know. Only sounds were from the nearby kangaroos munching the grass.

We absolutely loved our stay at this peaceful farm. The property is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful gardens and stunning scenery. The eastern aspect had a fantastic view and shade in the afternoon. We were really happy to have access to a hot shower, toilet and running water in the cute little cottage on-site. Meredith was a wonderful host, she was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to do/see in the area.
We hope to return one day and would certainly recommend to family and friends!
