The best camping in Coneac State Conservation Area, NSW guide

Overview

About

Embark on an adventure through the lush landscapes of Coneac State Conservation Area. Established in 2003, this 804ha sanctuary invites nature enthusiasts to immerse themselves in its diverse ecosystems. Traverse scenic trails, spot local wildlife, and soak in the tranquillity of the great outdoors. While camping options are not available within the park, the area offers a plethora of activities for day visitors.

When to go

The best time to visit Coneac State Conservation Area is during the milder months of spring and autumn, when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities. Summer can be quite warm, making it less ideal for strenuous hikes. Winter, while cooler, can also be a good time for visitors who prefer a more solitary experience amid the park's serene environment.

Know before you go

  • Check the latest park alerts and weather conditions before your visit.
  • Ensure you have a valid pass and are aware of the park's opening hours, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for bushwalking and exploring the conservation area.
  • Be mindful of the local wildlife and maintain a safe distance at all times.
  • Remember to carry sufficient water, as facilities may be limited within the park.
