We are a 9 acre farm of beautiful Aussie bushland in Kundibakh. With Burrell creek running along the back. We are now offering the ad on of a luxury family off grid van that comfortably hosts a family of 5 so more nature lovers can enjoy Platypus Creek! The Bucketts Way splits our property into a special spot just for you, 3 acres with your own gated entrance. Wander down to the creek to cool off with a perfect swimming hole after the rain, you might even be lucky enough to spot platypus if you’re super quiet. We are located half an hour from the freeway (turn off at Nabiac) and can easily get to Taree, Old Bar, Wingham, Gloucester, Diamond Beach, Black Head beach, Tuncurry and Forster. We are rural, we have farming all around us which we find beautiful and essential for life. Sometimes you will hear cows at night, Sometimes we have cattle trucks, milk trucks or transport trucks coming along the road which we can hear. It is not constant but it is an important part of farming. The beauty of living on The Bucketts Way is we are always accessible.Plenty of space on your own site of 3 acres with Burrell Creek running along, try your hand at gold panning or see if you can spot a Platypus! We also have a resident Wallaby in the paddock and regularly see Koalas on the way to Taree (please drive carefully!) No power or bathroom facilities. Swimming in the creek in summer is glorious and fires in the winter are cosy, if the weather is good outside of fire season we can obtain a recreational fire permit for a contained campfire. We welcome groups larger than 8, We welcome pets but please remember to keep them secure (especially at night) and pick up after them. We are right on Bucketts Way with very easy access. Krambach is our local town with a good pub, and a servo stocking some basics. Nabiac is a great town and has an amazing pool, also has foodworks, cafes, chemist, bakery, butchers, a good pub, and The Artisan which is on the Highway. Krambach also has a pool and both are open during daylight savings. A pleasant drive from Krambach into Gloucester and Barrington tops. Heading north is 20mins to Wingham then a further 5mins to Taree. Old Bar is worth a visit for a beautiful Aussie coastal town vibe, with a great beach.

Platypus Creek is a beautiful spot. The site was very flat and clear. We loved walking the creek. It is a spectacular place. Chantell was great with communication. However, the road is fairly close. Road noise in the morning. Did not bother us. May bother some. Neighbours are close too. Again, didn't bother us as we know what working properties are like. I would highly recommend this spot. The bird life is amazing. Thank you Platypus Creek for sharing an extremely beautiful part of the world with us.

Secluded Starry Night

Platypus Creek was a beautiful private spot where we didn't see another person during our short stay there. There was a firepit which was lovely to sit by while we looked up at all the stars in the night sky. Chantell was helpful leading up to the booking with useful information and quick responses. Will definetly be back.

Very nice spot, road is close with a little bit of traffic noice as expected during the day. quiet at night so very peaceful The creek wasn’t running which was the only disappointment. Chantell was great with communication. Had a great stay . The site was large and well maintained . So nice to find a host that only takes one booking for the site . The dogs had the best time. Peaceful nights , lovely walk down the creek bed to the swimming hole. Thanks for having us :)

This is our 2nd time camping here with our caravan. Lovely big flat grassed area all to ourselves. Short walk to the creek, very quiet. Will definitely be back.

Problem-free rural camping

We stayed for seven nights in a caravan to explore the surrounding area. It was a convenient distance from Taree and the coast. It had been very dry recently and the creek was totally dry, unfortunately. Access from the road was clear and the large site was pretty level with lots of clear spots to choose from. While there was some road noise, it wasn't often and didn't bother us. It didn't detract from the peace and tranquility we experienced. Communication with the host was minimal and as necessary to be keep us updated. We enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

What a quiet and sweet place to camp. Loved that we had it to ourselves. The sounds of birds and cows was delightful. Minimal car noise from the road and none at night time. No water in the creek for our visit this time, but would be beautiful when flowing. It certainly didn’t spoil how relaxing it was. Great host!

We were able to camp near the creek, unfortunately it was a bit dry but a short walk up the creek we found a beautiful waterhole. The camping area was spacious, nice and flat and very clean and tidy.

Chantell provided a beautiful flat mowed area next to a meandering creek with easy access. She promptly responded to all communication and also, for a small fee, offered to sell us a load of firewood. Would definitely recommend.

Such a lovely quiet spot! The creek was so lovely for swimming and Chantell was a very helpful host. The area was so nice and flat, we didn’t need to adjust the van at all. Chantell provides a fire pit and left some wood for us too! It’s next to a road so a few cars going by, but we would definitely recommend Platypus creek, particularly in September when the weather is warm and the creek is so refreshing

What an amazing slice of paradise. Platypus creek was amazing, even after the Hunter and mid north coast flooding event only a couple of weeks ago. The paddock was mostly level and flat with plenty of places to choose to set up. The creek was divine. And Chantel's directions and communication beforehand was great.

Easter at Platypus Creek was great!

Two families and our dog loved having the whole site to ourselves. The creek was beautiful and so refreshing. 30mins to drive on beaches and local pub/fuel/ice only 10mins away. Road was a little noisy but not constant. Chantell was very responsive and helpful but left us to enjoy ourselves.

Our stay was wonderful. The camper site was very large and even being closer to the road we didn't hear much traffic that impacted our stay. Easy access to the creek. Plenty of sights to explore in the area.

We loved that each booking is for the entire 3 acre paddock. This meant that we had the whole place to ourselves and could enjoy the river in solitude. The river is nice and shallow and was perfect for the kids to play around in safely.

A must stay!

We loved our stay at Platypus Creek, the creek and swimming hole were awesome and a great way to cool down. Our dog loved being off lead as the site is all to yourself. No reception and need some ear plugs for the cicadas but we couldn’t recommend this spot enough!

Site 2

We stayed for 2 nights had rain wind and sun. Site 2 is further away from traffic noise but it really didn't bother us. The space to camp is really spacious for each site. We had a fire and cooked dinner on the Saturday night as it wasn't raining. Creek is easy to access and very pretty. Our dog loved the place ! We will definitely do another stay!

We had a great stay at Platypus Creek (Site 2). Chantell was easy to communicate with and the site was very spacious. There are two separate sites, site 2 is large and private tucked around the corner from site 1. Site 1 is more open, closer to the road and entrance gate. Both are only a short walk to the creek. No phone reception but starlink worked great.
