The Land Hideaway is a private location on the edge of the Chichester State Forest on Jerusalem Creek, once called Munduk by the traditional indigenous Gringai. The Land has around four acres cleared for camping with access to an undercover 6x6m tea house and a long drop loo. For those looking for a nature retreat, a well constructed short walk will put you into Jerusalem Creek with its waterfalls pools and cascades. It’s a special treat hearing the local lyrebirds calling in the surrounding gullies. Deep pools for swimming or sliding on the rock shelf into streams. Plenty to explore, a short drive will take you into Jerusalem National Park and the Chichester State Forest l if you’re into biking it’s 18km to the Ride Dungog flow tracks and 20 km to the classic town of Dungog . The property has a motorcross track which is a 600 metre circuit that has challenges with hills and turns. Suitable for experienced riders though there is plenty of open space in view of adults for the younger or beginner riders. The property is also on he edge of some of the regions best trail and adventure bike riding with endless amounts of single and fire trail to explore. Tired punters can settle around a fire pit and dine alfresco in the Tea House. There’s much to enjoy and it’s only a bit over an hour from Newcastle. Enjoy the privacy of the campground to yourself or with your friends. Each individual booking will have the 40 acres to themselves for the duration of the stay Entire open area to be utilised however Campers see fit to set up camp and will have access to fire pit for warmth and cooking, an undercover tea house structure with power and lighting, water from the tank and a drop toilet. We have accommodated vehicles such as any 2WD car, Mercedes Sprinter and 4WD with toy hauler attached to give an idea of accessibility. Keep in mind it's an unsealed road so wet weather can cause issues if inexperienced. Firewood available for purchase per bag

Camping with friends & kids
We had a great time, the undercover area was fantastic and there was plenty of seating so we didnt use any of our own chairs, the BBQ was big enough to cook on for everyone. We were grateful there was some cutlery as we forgot ours. We all had so much fun riding the track and there was good riding for the kids and we could watch them from the undercover area. If it is raining we recommend taking extra salt for leeches, even though there is salt left at the shed. There were a couple of bins with liners which made it really easy to take our rubbish home. Bruce the host was helpful and answered any questions fast. Next time we visit i would like to look for the fossil in the creek bed. I enjoyed reading the visitors info book :)

Quite get away
My friends and I had a great time camping on Bruce's land, he ensured we knew about the weather, had enough fire wood and had a nice BBQ area ready for us. The undercover area is great, especially with the solar powered lighting at night. The driveway looks intimidating, but even a 2wd sedan made it up and out in the rain. Thanks for sharing your land Bruce.

Great Base Camp
Bruce was a terrific host and very helpful. The site was nice and quiet and we appreciated having the whole site to ourselves. Very conveniently located if you want to explore the Chichester State Forest and surrounds. Having access to a toilet, water and a big undercover area made it a perfect spot to base ourselves. I hope to go back one day.
