Faraway Farm is an organic retreat with a focus on nourishment and well-being. A place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Here there is no need for tv, emails, music, parties, drugs or alcohol. You’ll be too busy hearing, seeing, exploring and enjoying all that the bush has to offer. With Chichester State Forest and Barrington Tops National Park nearby there is so much to explore. And being only 20 minutes from Dungog, 1 hour and 30 minutes from Newcastle, and 3 hours from Sydney it’s not too far to travel for a weekend getaway. The farm is bordered by the pristine Jerusalem Creek which offers waterfalls, swimming holes within 10 minutes walk from camp and an abundance of wildlife. Special sightings include Orchids, Koalas and Lyrebirds Camping is located on the ridge line overlooking the Barrington Tops to the west and as you can imagine the most incredible sunsets. A bush toilet with hand washing facility is available at the site. BYO water and firewood. The farm includes a small herd of goats so getting to feed the goats is just one of the many highlights. Nearby attractions include Chichester Dam, Jerusalem Creek Falls and Dundungarra Falls.

Once you enter Faraway Farm this is the first site you come to on your right hand side just past the dam. Pass your gear over the fence or use the pedestrian gate. This is a tent only site. Vehicles must be parked on the side of the road adjacent to the camp site. You may sleep in your vehicle it just needs to stay outside the fence. You’ll soon be relaxing to the tranquil sounds of the birds and the flowing creek in the valley bellow. You will need to bring your own water and firewood. This site has a composting loo which includes hand washing facilities. Enjoy bird watching, bush walking and swimming in pristine water holes located within 500m of camp.

Creek Side Camp (Walk in tent site)

This site is situated in the Valley 100m from the creek. There is no vehicle access so you have to hike in with all your gear. The nearest parking spot is about 300m from the camp. A large 5 person oztent can be provided and setup for you for an additional fee. 20 Litres of water will be provided and there is a bush toilet at the site. Other camping items can also be provided for a fee.

Site 2 Ridge Line (Tent)

Once you enter Faraway Farm this is the second site you come to on your right hand side. Park your vehicle on the side of the road and pass your gear over the fence or use the pedestrian gate. Setup anywhere between the dam and the pedestrian gate. You’ll soon be relaxing to the tranquil sounds of the birds and the flowing creek in the valley bellow. You will need to bring your own water and firewood. This site is close to the composting loo which includes hand washing facilities. Note due to it's proximity to the dam this site is not suitable for young children. Note: This is a tent only site. Vehicles must be parked on the side of the road adjacent to the camp site. You may sleep in your vehicle it just needs to stay outside the fence. Enjoy bird watching, bush walking and swimming in pristine water holes located within 500m of camp.

Situated on top of a ridge line with views to the west over Barrington Tops all the way to Carey's Peak, you'll be in your element sitting by a camp fire watching the sun set over the mountains, as the birds finish their song and the crickets and frogs start theirs. Park your vehicle on the road shoulder adjacent to the site and use the pedestrian gate to access the site. You may sleep in your vehicle it just needs to stay outside the fence. There is a bush toilet at the site, walking trails and pristine creek with swimming holes 500m walk from the camping area.

This is the second site in the paddock on your right once you enter Faraway Farm. Access the site through the gate on your right. This site is a large grassy area on the ridge line with views to the west over Barrington Tops all the way to Carey's Peak. It offers spectacular sunsets and birds. Enjoy walking trails and the pristine creek with swimming holes 500m walk from the camping area. Note: You'll have the whole area to yourself however there maybe another group within site about 50m away.

Peaceful and surrounded by nature

We loved camping here. Toby is really nice and helpful and provides with all the information you need. Camping spots are spacious with a fireplace and bush toilet. You’re surrounded by nature, goats and a lovely friendly wallaby roaming around. Nice tracks to explore that takes you down to a peaceful creek with swimming holes and waterfalls.

Toby's property was a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. Big grass area with a compost toilet. Toby also provided us with a helpful map for a 10-minute bushwalk down to explore Jerusalem Creek.

Great spot. Our young family loved adventures on foot down to the creek. Its a big adventure each day to achieve followed by fun camp times in our large, safe area all to ourselves. Thank you!

Country camping with hidden gems!

Faraway Farm has great appeal to those seeking a country escape. The camp ground is sitting on top of a ridge, with horses and goats as your neighbours, and a great outlook. It is however the hidden gems which make this place shine. 10 minutes walk, and you will disappear into a dense wilderness with a flowing creek that turns into waterfalls and swimming holes as you go. I could easily spend my life down by the creek till the end of my days without seeing another human and be happy! There are no amenities beyond a bush toilet, so bring everything you need including water, and take home everything you brought with you. I would recommend bringing a wind break for your campfire so your sparks don’t fly off and cause a bushfire, although, while we had fierce winds one night, we were protected from most of it by the surrounding trees. I loved my time spent here and thank Gabe for his wonderful hospitality!

We had such a lovely time at Faraway Camp. Toby and family were very welcoming. The wildlife is beautiful. The highlight is the stunning creek and waterfall which we had all to ourselves. We would definitely love to make it a regular camping spot. Thank you so much!

We loved camping at Faraway Farm. Toby and Mark were great. They let the kids feed the baby goats and answered the kids 1000 questions. They were very helpful and gave us a lot of insight into the area. The creek was beautiful and after the rain the waterfall was a sight.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at faraway farm. The site was private and surrounded by stunning scenery as well as some goats that kept us entertained. There was opportunity to bush walk down to the creek which was so peaceful. Toby and Nikki made it very easy to find and were super accomodating. Loved the whole vibe a great getaway.

Good joint and lovely owners. Warning do not drive past the campground entrance fence in a 2 wheel drive car down to the waterfall which I stupidly did which was my fault. But a very nice place to visit.

Warm welcome and lovely little spot to pitch a tent for the night. Walked down through the bush via the path mapped and spent the morning at the creek. Not a soul in sight. It was beautiful.

Lovely spot to camp. Toby and the others were super friendly. It was so nice to have the whole campsite to ourselves, especially at Easter time. The swimming spot was so beautiful.
