Weekend Trip to Hillside Camp on Bow River

We had the best 2 nights camping on Dave’s incredible property! There was so much to do and explore. Dave’s done an amazing job of putting up signs and maps to navigate the vast property so we felt comfortable to explore. Dave was super helpful showing us around and having firewood available to purchase which he kindly dropped off to our camp. I loved seeing the abundant wildlife on the property including an eagles nest! We were so sad to leave and we can’t wait to come back and try one of the other camp sites! Thanks a million Dave!

2 nights at Hillside Camp on Bow River

Dave has gratuitously opened his home to the public. This is much more than a farmstay, this is more like a visit to a hidden paradise. 3000 acres of pristine bushland. Loads of 4wd tracks and walking trails. Wildlife abound and rivers and creeks nestle at the bottom spectacular rivines/gullys. Every campsite has toilets and fire pits and are extremely well maintained. There are some common sense rules that will protect this spectacular place for future generations and all our sakes please follow them. We can't wait to go back and explore some more.

Weekend Trip to Hillside Camp on Bow River

David’s farming campsites are spectacular. The scenery and wildlife are fabulous, incredible privacy and facilities. We loved having a dip in the river (essentially a cold plunge at this time of year), spotting satellites amongst the stars at night time, and exploring the caves and river tracks during the day. The farm is set up thoughtfully, with clear signposting and maps to help navigation, while the toilets on the site were clean and are a welcome bonus. David gave out helpful tips about things to do. It was a blissful way to spend a couple of days away from screens and the internet! We’d love to come back again.

A truly amazing spot! Everything surpassed our expectations, from the picturesque landscapes and features to the friendly little sheep and exceptionally welcome and lovely hosts. Couldn’t recommend this spot more !!! A definite must stay :)

3 nights at Riverside Rest

I loved the peace and quiet,being only 4 sites it was not overcrowded and the fact it was pet friendly was a bonus. We will definitely be going back as it is only 40 minutes from home.

What a great place to relax and enjoy the well kept and perfect camping areas on a beautiful riverscape. I loved the access track, pulling the caravan was easy and part of the experience. I highly recommend Watton Airstrip

We had a great 3 days at Dave’s place, good campsites, clean toilets, awesome scenery and walking along the Bow river plus some fun 4wd tracks. Dave is a great host and puts a lot of effort into maintaining his property and we can highly recommend a visit.

We have been using Hipcamp for about 2 years and this place would rate as one of the best we have stayed at. To camp beside such a beautiful river on lovely green grass was amazing. Our host called in to say hello and check we were happy. You can even get firewood from him if you need.

1 night at Riverside Rest

Brilliant spot! Glenn & Zoe have created an exclusive little piece of paradise on their property on the banks of the Clarence River just outside of Yamba. There are only four caravan spots, all of them Excellent with fire pits, level with grass and very easy to cast a line straight from your campsite into the river. The property is perfectly maintained. Great if you’ve got children that want to run around and play, there is a canoe and kayak that they graciously leave for guests use, a boat ramp to launch a boat, and a jetty to fish off. Couple that with amazing sunrises and sunsets, what more could you ask for? Five star hip camp.

3 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

This is a perfect 10/10 campsite, situated on a beautiful river with tubes available on site to float down, the cliff face is epic and you can spot rock wallabies and the fishing is good, we caught a decent cod(catched and released). Super private, gorgeous bit of land to make camp. It might be the best campsite I've seen yet, will definitely be coming back!

2 nights at Misty Mountain - Kunghur

We will definitely be back for another visit in the future but had a couple of issues that made this visit memorable. While we made sure rain wasn’t predicted for our trip, we hadn’t watched the weather in the preceding weeks and found the property very wet and muddy after a couple of weeks of rain. We ended up getting bogged for the first time ever! The caretaker was helpful when we contacted him, but wish we had been warned prior to arriving that we shouldn’t drive on the grass and that we also wouldn’t be able to access most of the property in a 2WD and small trailer. We finally found a campsite only to find the nearby portaloo full to the brim and unusable. This was remedied on the day we were packing to leave so had no use of these facilities. The views made up for the inconveniences and we found the owner/caretaker very friendly and responsive

2 nights at Bahwidgee on Tumut River

We had a good stay at Bahwidgee for a couple of nights with our pets. Plenty of room and options for where and how to park the van. While there were a couple of other groups parked up, we all had heaps of room. Wayne was great and we had a good chat the first night. The river was crystal clear and provided a great backdrop. Tumut was also a nice town. Would definitely stay again if we were passing through.

1 night at NSW Ski Gardens

We loved the tent camping at this site with amazing view of lake and river. Had wonderful time there .

2 nights at Binghi Station

Amazing property! We stayed at the Gorge and got our hybrid camper (18ft total length) down at night in the dark easily enough. Definitely need a capable 4x4 with the current tracks but it’s doable. Getting out was easy during the day with rear diff locks. The Gorge is great - I’d note that if booking for multiple different groups/set ups, that there’s only one spot that’s really level. It was however perfect for just two adults and two dogs. It’s a really large space and nice to be isolated with your own swimming spot.

Loved camping at Hawkesbury Hideaway. Beautiful views and weather. Great to be able to hire a fire pit and generous amount of fire wood. Would definitely go again if we plan to revisit the area.

Thank you so much Adrian & Oratai for sharing Binghi station with us. From the moment we booked Adrian was great with communication and when we arrived late and had limited phone reception (bonus) had the fire going and reserved a great spot for us. So much to experience from bush walking to the secret gorge or the amazing Sandy Falls, we didnt make it to the Jump'n rock but had to leave something for next time. Everything was clean and tidy and well looked after camp sites. Adrian and Oratai were very welcoming with checking in or waving every time they rode past on the quad making sure we were having a good time or if we needed anything. Thanks again for having us

Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Please consult hosts regarding fires during dry summer months even when no fire ban in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. 'Elouera Vale' Farm

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

The property is just 5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store. Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations. We do have a bathtub’s on four sites. Campers should leave no trace. We are a short drive from the beautiful Hell’s hole, Unicorn falls and Mavis Kitchens.
