Plenty of space right next to the river. Easy access with our 21ft van. Had a great stop over here and kids enjoyed the space to play and the little bit of sand next to the river to dig and play

Spent 2 nights at Macleay Valley private Retreat with a 13m rig 2 people and 2 cats. Helen was a awesome host, very accomodating and helpful with advice where to shop to pick up a few things. Beaitiful spot right on the water, great fishing with big bream. Highly reccomend this spot and will definately be heading there again myself. Love your work Helen.

Great location at Macleay river private retreat located on the river with direct location to throw a line in. Well maintained with grass all cut and fire pits. Host Helen was great. We be back

We had the best long weekend at Macleay Valley. Peace & quiet, lots of birdlife including beautiful black swans and a fire at night time. Access was great, the strip along the river was mown, lots of room for us all to spread out.

Helen was very welcoming and it was such a relaxing spot near the river.
It was a lovely spot. We unhitched our camper van and went to the local pub for dinner only seven minutes down the road.. would highly recommend and would go back for sure

What a great spot!!
Super chill and relaxing watching the river go by and the fish jumping.
Was super handy to explore the area from and then to come back and just relax was great.
Day one was super windy so we just chilled in and around the van but at least we still had a great view !

Helen was lovely and very accommodating. Offered water to fill our tank up. The camp site was very well maintained with great views. Definitely worth a stop in, couldn’t recommend more!

I think it's important to point out it's not as "private" as the name suggests
However very well kept spot and pretty, and Helen (host) was lovely.
There were quite a few other campers while we were there but we didn't feel crowded.
It was quite windy so we didn't use the awning but it settled over night. The river was lovely to watch.
A main road across the river was closer than expected and road noise could be heard, however not enough to be disturbing.
The cows were a pleasant grounding with nature and bearing them moo, not too loud, was really lovely.
We were able to visit Hat Head and South West Rocks within an easy drive.

Unfortunately this is not the camp for us it was very noisy I felt like I was sleeping on a freeway, the roads are very busy and start early hours of the morning. It also was not very private and very exposed to the elements. The river is beautiful and the host was lovely it just wasn’t for us. We wanted something more private and quiet. I wouldn’t want to camp there if all sites were booked everyone would be too close together. To me three sites max and even then it wouldn’t have been for me. Sorry

We only had a quick over night stay but Helen was lovely and met us on arrival and departure. The camp spot was beautiful, lovely views of the river and they provide a fire pit. We even got to see a beautiful black swan cruising down the river.

Beautiful property, perfect riverside camping. We will definitely be back.
What a magical spot on the river. What a fabulous view of the river and farmland. The kids loved watching the cows in the paddock along the drive a great spot to fish relax and spent time with the family Just a small drive away from south west rocks, hat head and Gladstone finding great little coffee spots along the way.

What a awesome place! Helen was so friendly and welcoming, firewood was dropped at the fire bin. Road noise but its not loud as its on the other side of the river. Caught a few fish! Honestly enjoyed the whole time, so close to other towns and beaches.

Absolutely lovely spot and lovely hosts. A bit boggy after the recent rain so 4wd necessary but I don't think it's always like that. They are putting gravel down to make it more accessible. Serene spot with great sunset and sunrise. Close to hat head, crescent head, South West rocks. Would definitely stay again. We were also offered water to fill caravan tanks on arrival which was ace.

Amazing little peace of paradise.
We put our paddle boards straight into the river, had a swim right from our camp! Perfect! Would definitely recommend to everyone! Loved it!
Sadly there is some road noise and the sound of dogs barking most evenings.

Great relaxing couple of days on the river for us. Not far from home allowed us to quickly head how for an hour and feed horses etc.
A little work to level it up a bit and some regular mowing would make it a great place to go back ...... Col was very welcoming though offering water to fill our tanks on the way in, and exiting if we wanted it

Great little camp spot right on the river!! Helen was a great host who greeted us upon arrival. We stayed for 2 nights and were able explore Hat Head and SWR very easily. The sunset was awesome!! Highly recommend!!

Our two groups thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Helen and Alan’s property. Wonderful people who were very kind, friendly and accommodating. The camping spot right on the waters edge was beautiful. We even got to view a cow give birth to a bull calf which my five year old hasn’t stopped talking about. I would highly recommended a stay here.
