Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, local strawberry and tomato picking, and 4WDing at nearby beaches and through Cairncross State Forest. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. As we are located on the North Shore of Port Macquarie, and to access the property you must cross the river using the Settlement Point Ferry The Hibbard Ferry operates (6am - 10am / 2pm-7pm) Mon -Fri and all day on Saturdays and Sundays is only 300 m from the campsite, making it easy to pop into town, explore Port Macquarie’s attractions, or visit the region’s wineries. For longer stays, a discounted ferry pass can be purchased on your behalf. NOTE THERE IS A COST WHEN USING THE FERRY North Shore Beach is a 5-minute drive away, and the local gin distillery is just a 15–20 minute drive up Maria River Road. There are three horses that will no doubt come and say hello. They are all friendly, especially if you have a carrot. There are also a lot of kangaroos and wallabies. There are also a lot of different species of birds, including the much-loved Black Cockatoos which are in abundance here. We have also seen turtles, frilled neck lizards, diamond pythons, red belly black snakes (rarely) and goannas.

"The Riverbank" is only 7.5 kilometres and an easy 8 minute drive off the M1. The rich green land supports a small beef raising enterprise and the cattle graze in surrounding paddocks. We offer 2 powered sites with water hookup and 2 unpowered drive through sites without water connection; our brand new magnificently appointed camp kitchen and bathroom ammenities are available to all who stay. We are caravan, campervan and motorhome friendly but do not offer swag only or tent sites. Campfires can be enjoyed through the cooler months and when permitted by the Rural Fire Service Unfortunately our 3 metre cliff face river frontage prevents access to the river for activities such as boating or kayaking; nor do we offer farm style adventures. "The Riverbank" as a destination for a relaxing time to unwind or a base from which to explore the beautiful Hastings area. The Abundance Nursery and Cafe with it's splendid lily pond view is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a coffee and only 3 kms back along Rawdon Island road. The pretty country town of Wauchope is only a 12 minute drive and is home to Timbertown, a theme park boasting steam train rides and a glimpse of the timber getting industry of a bygone era. Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops. A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through. Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away. And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. Stunning beaches, amazing walks, top class restaurants, the list goes on. The nearest Dump Points are locacted in Wauchope (12 minutes) or Port Macquarie (20 minutes)

Kids will love the farm tour (4.30pm to 5.30pm daily) for the feeding of chickens, ducks, bunny rabbits, horse, donkeys, sheep and goats. It's an excellent area for mountain bike riding as well! Kayaks available for free. Don't have a caravan, we have partnered up with Wrighty's Caravan Hire and Repairs. linktr.ee/wrightyscaravans. They offer family caravans delivered, setup ready for you to enjoy. Pets allowed but you must have on lead when walking around the property near cattle. Note a maximum of 2 dogs per camp site. If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim. The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise. There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush. Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in. It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's. The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish). Happy camping!

If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage. The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

You can relax by the spring fed dam and look for Coy fish, lay under the trees and do a spot of bird and koala watching or go for a bush walk in the many surrounding trails. Dogs - We are happy for you to bring your fury friends (as long as they are supervised, dog and child friendly, well behaved and non destructive in nature) Please keep them out of the vegie gardens!! Please be mindful that the fencing is not dog safe and the property is surrounded by National Parks and Wildlife. Children - Please be mindful that the dam is not fenced off. Power - Each site comes with 240 volt 10 amp power supplied. Water - We are on tank water so please do not fill up your caravan water tank. We stayed on Site 1 which was powered, close to the river and swings. Was a fantastic place to stay for a few nights on our travels. The animal feeding each afternoon was an absolute hit with our kids with Cheryl and Rick putting in a lot of effort to make it a great experience.

Nice flat and mowed campsites with plenty of space between sites. Short stroll through an old Casuarina forest dotted with stag and elk horn ferns to get to the crystal clear river. Our dog loved it too. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful location and hosts. Grassed camp ground on the picturesque Wilson River. Rick and Cheryl are amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Animal feeing was great and the home made biscuits for sale were amazing. Drop toilets were so clean. Definitely worth a visit!

Can't recommend camping here enough! As a mum travelling solo with her 4 year old I was so thrilled to find a very kid friendly and safe environment with everything we could hope for. A magical creek, play equipment, fire pits, toilets and new friends! Not to mention the animal feeding and wonderful hosts who's kindness and generosity shon through their welcome and support during our visit. Will be back on our trip down south! Tell all of your friends :D

Absolutely beautiful spot! Lovely lush grass, beautiful big sites and the water - absolutely beautiful!!! Very family friendly. Did a little farm tour with Cheryl which was lots of fun! Even walking away with a few fresh veggies out of her veggie garden! Will definitely be back & highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

We had such a beautiful stay camping on this farm! The rivers running through the property made it so peaceful and relaxing the perfect place to switch off and reconnect with nature. The owners are absolutely amazing so welcoming and kind. We felt right at home. Can’t wait to come back! 🌿🏕️

Christie’s camp is immaculate with all of the facilities you would ever need it is truly a glamping experience. This camp is ideal for first time campers or campers with the bare minimum as she has it all. The location is ideal for exploring the mid north coast and is close to great cafes pubs beaches etc.

We loved our stay and really couldn’t ask for more. Great little touches to make everything spot on for guests. Especially loved that the camping area has been fenced off from the farm, keeping the area free from droppings. We will definitely recommend and return when in the area.

We had sites 3, 6 and 11 we all fit on site 3, huge site. We had an awesome weekend, kids loved the boogie boards ,kayaks, bikes and scooters. The river was great for swimming, fresh and clean. We made use of the pizza oven with fresh home made pizza for dinner. Kids went to the animal feeding, they absolutely loved it, I would highly recommend this hipcamp we will definitely be back, thankyou Rick and Cheryl for an amazing weekend you have an awesome property 😀

Where to begin - the facilities are awesome they feel almost brand new. The site is close enough to Port Macquarie it makes nipping in and out easy whilst still having the feeling of being off the grid. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves but even if the other site had been booked it still would have been nice. Chrissie is a massive legend and we will definitely be back. And last but not least Chrissie is lucky she wasn’t missing a dog when we left because we fell completely in love with Mr Ray (and the others) another gorgeous Kelpie just like ours. Honestly we had the best time . Thank you so so much x

We had an amazing last-minute getaway at this beautiful farm. The property was peaceful, well maintained, and the perfect spot to unwind. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and even allowed us to leave our caravan on-site after checkout while we visited Wild Bull, which we really appreciated. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape.

The water is warm and safe and so close to camp. You can walk down for a swim.
