Our stunning 2000 acre working Cattle property offers this beautiful private camping retreat right on the bank of the Severn River in the Ashford area. Our camping sites are located far enough from each other so that we can offer complete privacy during your stay where you will have no other campers around you for literally kilometers. You can see more of our property by searching 'River Camping Ashford Dan Proud'. Our part of the Severn River offers many large fishing holes with excellent fishing for Murray Cod, Yellow Belly and Catfish, we request that you only catch and release please. The river is also great for kayaking, swimming and boating and has very large areas of small rapids along river. Relax around the fire pit in the evenings and enjoy our beautiful sunsets and star gazing, in the mornings you can enjoy the sounds of the beautiful bird song. The area is abundant with wildlife, including native birds, platypus and koalas. We are also located only 10kms from Pindari Dam which is another great spot for all water based activities. We are 10kms from Pindari Adventure Park which is a great spot to take kids. We are 25kms from Macintyre Falls and the Kwiambal National Parks which has a number of beautiful walks you can enjoy. Ben Falls, Goat Rock, Reedy Creek Winery and Zappers Winery are all close by as well. Campers must stay within the designated camping area whilst on the property. We have provided a fire pit for your enjoyment and can arrange firewood to be available upon request. Campers must be fully self sufficient and take all waste with them on departure.

Beautiful property and campground. Stayed in Site 1 which is a good size for a big rig, had no problem with our 10 metre van. Right on the river. Susannah was very friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

Beautiful secluded spot on the Severn River. We had the spot to ourselves - perfect for relaxing. Pretty landscape and nights were great for viewing stars, the Super moonrise, and lightning storms rolling across. Take your own firewood and a gazebo (limited shade).

What a gem of a place and so close to home! Susannah was a great host, nothing was a problem. Beautiful location, we had a great site, right on the river, mowed and clean. Sites are located along the river and well spaced out with your own little piece of paradise. Sites to suit all kinds of campers. Will definitely be back.

What a wonderful place. Peaceful surroundings by the river. Our 2 dogs loved the spot and learnt so much about behaving around cows. Sussanah is a wonderful host and i hope she can take advantage of a free coffee at TnJs on us. Absolutely recommend Fernlee.

It was easy to find and to get in to the camp. Internet can be limited in the area so ensure you make contact with Susannah early. Susannah was so easy to deal with. The camp site was lovely, right on a waterhole. The wild life and birds were beautiful.

This was our 2nd time at Fernlee at different campsites both have been sensational River front sites for us our dog and 20ft caravan. Susannah is an excellent host.

My favourite place to relax and do some soul searching. Susannah is a great host and I highly recommend booking a trip to fernlee. Our first time was Easter and have since been back 3 times for a holiday. And every time it is enjoyable , the peace and quiet, the serenity , the mountains and river. Fernlee has it all!.

Susannah is so genuine and lovely. We appreciate her sharing the property with us and always being so welcoming. We spent our first wedding anniversary back here, and loved every second of it. I had to mentally prepare myself to leave and sat still as often as possible to make time go slow.

Booked site 1 & 2 as we were reccomended to book both so we don’t have neighbours. Then had another group arrive on site 1, who then stayed for 3 nights on the site we booked. Nice spot by the river, shallow hole… but still able to catch fish.

This place was fantastic! With 3 small children who love to be outdoors and fishing we experienced it all. Keeping entertained from bait fishing to lure fishing from the bank and in the boat. Unfortunately this site hasn't got much river between rapids, so will re book another site soon to utilise more of the river in the boat. Some communication from host before our arrival would have been great as no one was home and no signage to direct us to our site we just stayed at the first site we seen. We are only 2 hrs away so this is definitely be a regular place to visit.
