I loved camping at Kookaburra. Watching the wallabies, hoping through the campsite at sunset, was a great experience and was something I looked forward to each night.

The location was very peaceful. Not to far away from a few spots for days out/hikes etc.
Amenities were immaculate. Really impressed with how clean and lovely they were.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
My partner loved the horse visits, along with the sheep & chickens.
Only downside I found was the site I chose was solid rock. Took ages to find somewhere to get my pegs in the ground. Lots of other tents on the opposite side, so I'm guessing it was just the spot I chose.
Ended up buying screw pegs in Armidale and managed to get set the following day.
Would happily return.

We absolutely loved our stay!!
Duncan is a very friendly and welcoming host.
There is also a nice couple staying on the property who were very kind and helpful.
Lovely animals around and really add something special to the experience.
Nice and peaceful place, with a full bathroom and a proper hot shower.
There is a basic kitchen available and firewood can be purchased on site.
The property is accessible for all types of cars.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved our tent stay.
The daily visits by the chooks, the horse happily galloping through the pasture and Duncan passing by for a chat (he really came over to bring in the mula, but was happy to chat for a while) made our days. Skippies coming through morning and evening. Just so nice!
Amenities are amazing, too!
We loved the serenity, peace and quiet. Enough space for everyone to have their space and not be on top of each other.
We'll be back for sure!

Great spot, nice and relaxing. Kids loved the friendly farm animals roaming around (one of the animals even slept under our annex when it rained ☺️). Really nice ammenities. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We really enjoyed this camp. We were at the first campsite as you come in. It’s a “pick a site and the host will come by for a chat” setup, but we had no one camping near us and there were plenty of sites to choose from. The toilets were just a short walk away, and we were lucky enough to see wallabies and even a deer running through the field and over the rocks.

Our family has stayed at Kookaburra Camping 3 times and have loved it every time. The kids love the property and exploring on the rocks while we find it to be the perfect place to unwind. Great amenities, couldn’t ask for anything else. Thanks for having us again Duncan!

Duncan, the friendly, no fuss host with a beautiful piece of country to share! We found Kookaburra to be a peaceful spot for a one or two night stop, decent amenities and lots of wildlife.

Absolute delight! Duncan (the owner) and Rick (lives on site) are both wonderful blokes to have a yarn to. Full of knowledge in farm life, Bushland, and many things you wouldn’t guess. The amenities are 5 star and kept SO clean. A friendly horse that if you’re lucky you’ll see galloping. A funny resident goat, and a friendly fat sheep. Your eyes can look as far as you can see, at endless pasture. My kids who are hard to please, loved it so much they were sad to leave after 3 days - and that was without using devices! Kids just find things to do, and make games to play!
Bring a Soccor ball, a bag of carrots for the horse, some paper and colours, and a good book! You’ll love it here.

We loved camping at Kookaburra! Beautiful camp ground with super clean facilities. So much space to choose from. Loads of fire pits everywhere and firewood for sale at the site. Loved the animals wandering around including the very inquisitive horse. Lots of wildlife about. Easy to find and drive in to. Would definitely come back!

We loved staying at Duncan’s place!! The bathroom and showers facilities were clean and modern. The set up of individual fire pits was a great addition to our winter holiday and the kids loved Doodle the horse, Ralf the goat and the sheep. Over all a great place for the family!! We will be back next winter :)

Beautiful place to stay. Facilities were incredible. Everyone was very welcoming including the animals! We camped in a tent in winter and were recommended a spot on the property that the sun would hit in the morning to help with warmth and frost. Worked a treat. Morning view was magical.
Also bring your telescope/camera as the night sky is a treat!

A beautiful, quiet campsite! Literally 600 acres of walking tracks - definitely ask Duncan how to get down to the creek, well worth the 5km round trip. You pick your own spot so everyone was really spaced out, some leveled spots and some you might need leveling ramps for. We'll definitely be back!

Great spot to camp. Fantastic amenities block. The sheep and horse can be a bit problematic scrounging for food! The sheep needed their hooves trimmed, so hope that's been attended to.

Duncan the host is a character as we found it funny when asking questions. Once one person has asked 5 questions you wasn’t allowed to ask anymore as you have done your quota but the next person can start there questions. Fantastic open grass area and plenty of room. The toilets and showers are excellent as they have 2 showers and 2 toilets for men and same for women. They also have a disabled toilet and shower on the same block. You will more than likely get a visit from the horse and a couple of gusts that are on the property. Duncan also has firewood for sale for $15 a wheel barrow load.
We will be back again Duncan with another new 5 questions
To ask and hopefully bring our friends and family back down here from QLD.

Great spot! Beautiful views, most excellent showers and toilets. Lovely to walk around the property and easy access to places we wanted to explore. Duncan great to chat to and heaps of firewood for the cold nights at a very reasonable cost. The animals and chickens just added to the stay
