Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers. Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction. This is my second stay at Mindoo. Stayed at The bend campsite. Beautiful peaceful and totally private site. Cleanest pit toilet i have ever used. Looking at staying again on my way back from down south -- loved it

Koala is a B E A U T I F U L spot. If I knew I would have planned for a longer stay. Falling asleep to the river rapids was divine. The space was huge for kids to kick a ball and not hit the water or the camp. Maintained green grass. Directions spot on. A short welcome by the host. If we ever go back through Tenterfield I would stay again for sure!

Awesome location, great place to explore. Pristine waterfalls & rock pools around the property with some great views too. The cascades area looks like something out of a movie set absolutely beautiful. A definite must do! Just remember you'll need a 4x4 to get around & some campsites are not accessible for caravans.

Amazing property! Beautiful surroundings. Prue & Bruce have done such a great job and thought of everything! Composting toilets are spotless, firewood available and ultimate peace camping beside the creek! With a great location to explore the nearby national parks. We will be back!

Wow what a fantastic location to camp. Private and peaceful. The river is a standout with its clear flowing water (albeit very cool haha) but such a wonderful place to pass a sunny afternoon with a few cold beverages. Access to the property is very straightforward and easy. Communication with Prue was also very simple and clear.

Beautiful, tidy and well kept property, excellent communication and very relaxing. Great pile of firewood on site with honesty box, makes life simple. Although we didn’t need the facilities. The toilet was super clean and very well kept. The river was very quaint. Would highly recommend.

Wow... just wow! This place it absolutely beautiful. So so SO peaceful, the Park area you have all to yourself. Right on the creek. Listening to the sound of the running water all the time was just magical. Thank you both for sharing your special slice of paradise. We will be back <3

We stayed in our caravan at the Koala camp site right at the waters edge with the tranquil sounds of water making its way between the rocks heading down stream. Crystal clear cool waters. Upon arrival to our site I wondered why we hadn’t been here before. Definitely Gods country with pastures of rolling hills and stunning views as far as the eye could see. To be awakened each morning with mothers and calves calling out to each other. Some beautiful relics of days gone by. Access into the property and to the creek camp site was easily accessible with caravan in tow. Short country drive into Tenterfield. We had shower and toilet in our caravan but there is a demountable building with bathroom and toilet facilities which was very clean and tidy. Can’t wait to book this camp again. You won’t find another like this. Just a breathtaking property.

We camped with a few friends over the weekend ,we had a nice big grassy area to ourselves with a beautiful running creek, it was beautiful and quiet, Really enjoyed our stay Prue was easy to get a hold of when needed and very helpful Definitely recommend this spot

I loved camping at Mindoo in the Koala site. It was honestly one of the best sites I have stayed at. Prue and Bruce were such amazing hosts and nothing was too much. Highly recommend you staying here. It will not disappoint!

Loved camping at twin falls! we booked both twin falls sites, thinking it was visible from each other but it wasn't- which is okay as we visited each other. Definitely something to keep in mind, if camping together. The private creek was to die for! October is definitely a lovely month to enjoy most of the beautiful balance of warm day with cool/cold nights. Very simple directions to get here. We had our own loo's but checked out the toilet on the hill, love how its always surrounded by the cows. Plenty of firewood- bring cash to contribute :)

We loved camping near Twin Falls which we had to ourselves other than the cows. The river was beautiful and nice to go to sleep with the sound of the water. The only downside is you can hear some road noise.

Really enjoyed waking up to the sound of the water in the rock pools. The site was spacious and had a great view over the river, with plenty of swimming spots to explore.

Absolutely loved this experience - very grateful to Prue and Bruce for their patience with us arriving after dark and sharing this beautiful property. We stayed two nights and loved the level grassy area, easy access to the river and were lucky to see lots of beautiful bird life, lizards and two red belly black snakes on the rocks. We loved our stay - thank you!

Absolutely gorgeous camping spot! Private and peaceful. Camp right along side the beautiful running creek. Playpus, possums, kangaroos, birds, roaming cattle (non-intrusive) and friendly farm dog. Clean toilet. No phone service, so perfect to relax. 15 minute drive from Tenterfield town. Thank you Prue and Bruce for sharing your piece of paradise with us ❤️

Absolutely beautiful spot ! Lots of places to explore with awesome 4x4 roads. Stunning views ! Hosts were so friendly and welcoming! Easy fire wood , which our hosts brought to our camp! Awesomeness! The river was delightful! So much wild life . Definitely worth every cent!

Beautiful place. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to weather but have recommended to family and friends to try this HipCamp! 4WD definitely required for majority of the sites. We stayed at the Junction and it was lovely spot. Friendly owners and very thoughtful regarding our trip having to be cut short.
