The Secret Gorge
Driving through what was at that time dry, dusty sheep country can seem a bit boring and them you reach Binghi Station.
The driveway, described in the directions as a “windy downhellish drive” may make you pause for a minute but slow and steady and it’s easy peasey.
The vehicle access once on Binghi is definitely 4WD. I was towing a small camper trailer and despite my concerns, it was relatively Ok. I had no problems or damage.
I stayed at The Secret Gorge (no one else there) and it is a spectacular site as the sun rises and drops into the gorge each morning. It was a dry time of year yet there was clean slow flowing water off the sandy beach in the gorge.
Flat camping spots are a bit limited there, but you soon forget about that with something new and striking to look at in every direction.
The pit toilet is basic, and I was surprised to find a gas shower set up. A hot shower on a cold morning with a spectacular view gets a big tick from me.
The campsite is visited during the day by a mixture of birds and at night I heard wallabies in the campsite.
The caretaker (whose name escapes me, sorry) advised me to take a drive and visit The Waterfall and Jump n Rock. Impressive places and would be even more so after rain.
He was great to chat to and learn a bit about the Station.
Short video of my stay on YouTube.

Excellent camp site. Loved the remote setting and the swimming hole is brilliant. Sites are well spread out. Hosts are genuine and lovely. We will definitely return. We stayed 6 days but left a day early due to some 12v issues in my vehicle. 10/10

Jump'n Rock
Epic adventure for the whole fam!
Where to start! I guess the journey there... it was so fun to get out into the wild and drive through so many different beautiful landscapes to get to Binghi Station. It's the perfect kind of rugged that's hard to find in campsites these days. I accidentally booked the wrong campsite at Jump'in Rock initially which was still a really cool and secluded spot. Would be great with older kids, lots of space for your set up and a toilet! I meant to book in at the Gorge and they were so great to let us relocate. What a treat, such a special spot. Also, lots of room to set up plus with a beautiful back drop of the granite rock cliffs and creek. At one point I was resting in the tent with the door open and in that short time I saw an eagle soaring in the sky, a kangaroo and a black mountain goat on the mountain above. Right place, right time. What an epic spot. There was some water in the gorge which was so refreshing, our baby girl and 2 dogs had such an amazing time chill'in on a blanket in the sun on the sand bar. The owner, Adrian popped down to say hello. He was so great and you could see he was so passionate about what he was doing. It was easy to communicate with the homestead if you needed any thing like firewood or the weather forecast via CB radio. Adrian let us know of a waterfall on the property, so that was another epic little excursion we weren't expecting. We highly recommend, we definitely will be back... there is so much more to explore. Cant wait!

Adrian's campsite is an excellent place to spend your time outdoors. The owner, Adrian, goes above and beyond to ensure that all of his guests have a fantastic experience.
One thing that really stood out during my stay was the get-together that Adrian hosted for all the campers. It was a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends while enjoying some delicious food. Speaking of food, Adrian really knows how to cook! He provided a roasted whole pig and lamb that were both mouth-wateringly delicious.
The view from the campsite is also spectacular. You can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while sitting around the campfire or while exploring the nearby trails.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at Adrian's campsite and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, hospitable, and scenic camping experience.

Adrian is the most accomodating host we have come across going out of his way to make our stay enjoyable.
The trek in is an adventure in itself but once arriving at the campsite there is nothing to do but totally relax and enjoy the company of the wallabies and goannas and the starry nights.
Highly recommend Binghi Station.

Went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time
Only thing I would say is unless you have a setup 4x4 the drive in is a little tough
Also pet friendly
Thank you to Binghi station owners

Our stay at Jumping Rock was beautiful! An amazing remote and secluded spot with spectacular night sky. The road in is not for the feint hearted and we'd recommend leaving ample time to get in and out. We were pulling our 4x4 trailer so took a little longer than expected. Adrian's communication was excellent. If you're wanting peace and quiet, then this is the place for you!

We loved the shearing shed camp site for winter, by 7.30-7.45 the sun was heating up the tent and the sun was warming up the bodies.
We were there just after the Easter long weekend so we missed the crowd, but that was fine by us. We loved the serenity, pristine nature and the view and wines at sunset, Watching the kangaroos hop down the gully and wander aimlessly around the campsites eating grass in the late afternoon was a highlight too.
It was a walk to the waterfall which was beautiful and a great place to put out your picnic rug and having a relaxing few hours. We could also walk to the gorge (or drive) which was also an amazing sight! The kids wandered up the rocky creek bed for ages.
We drove to jumping rock and with two 13yo’s it was there favourite place. The daredevils jumped from the top but the mums kept it to the smaller jump. We took a camp stove and cooked sausages for lunch and had a few wines on the giant boulders admiring the scenery and the wildlife.
4WD is a must as the driveway from binghi station gate to the camp sites can be a bit hairy if like us you are camping and 4WDing novices. The seasoned and off road 4 WD lovers will love the challenge.
Adrien is great! Nothing is too much trouble and he even popped in in the evening for a beer and wine, also was a highlight.
We’ll be back!

Scenic, quiet spot
Great little spot! Very scenic and a nice view to wake up to each morning. The gas shower is great.
Proper 4wd required to get down and back up. If you're towing, I'd recommend a smaller off road trailer or seek Adrian's advice before booking: there's a few tight turns and drop offs. We had no issues with a Pajero towing a 1.5 ton Exceed camper trailer.
Host Adrian is friendly and very helpful.

The most gorgeous place to camp! Wish we stayed longer than 2 days. The track is 100% 4wd accessible only and would recommend a high clearance. The water is gorgeous, camp ground is clean, facilities are kept in good condition and the scenery is to die for. Adrian was a lovely host, ill be back!

Feel the serenity along the river
Binghi Station is for those who love seclusion and stripped back camping in the bush. Accessing the Jump’n Rocks site on this 4,000 acre bush block requires a 4wd and you have to think carefully before you bring a campertrailer. A standard 4wd will get you down the track but it is tight in sections so probably leave the van at home and throw some swags on the roof rack. Once down to the edge of Silent Grove Creek, you are awarded with a spectacular river scene that has swimming holes and heaps of rock ambling and exploring both upstream and down. heading downstream, you reach a spectacular gully with a big waterfall that makes you fee like you are in that scene from “The Beach” ; sitting atop an amazing waterfall down to a huge pool below and no visible means to make it down to the bottom due to steepness of the cliff’s. Adrian’s instructions on reaching the station were bang on and we had all the information we needed to find the place. The camp site itself at Jump’n Rocks looks like it has newly been cut out of the forest so the ground is a bit uneven and lumpy in sections. Watch-out for protruding stalks of freshly cut saplings as they can do a number on your toes at night! Basic drop toilet there and a fire pit is provided. You’ve got to be self sufficient here but the ruggedness of the spot is what makes it special. Loved it and cant recommend it highly enough for self-sufficient campers who don't need a lot of bells and whistles - just spectacular scenery!

Definetly 4WD required and well worth the trekk to get to our campsite at Jumpn Rock with offroad van in tow.

What a great secluded camp! The rock pools were awesome. Us and the pup had the best time swimming. The camp ground is freshly cleared land so a little bit rough for a tent, but nothing too major. Soooo much wood around to keep your fire going. The hosts are super nice people. Will definitely be back!

Perfect off-grid getaway!
Fantastic spot! Perfect for those that love a remote getaway all to your self. Magical sunsets and glittering night skies. You forget what a blue sky actually looks like until you visit a place like this. The scenery is amazing. Being on the granite belt there are interesting rock formations all over the place. The station is also next to a beautiful national park with signed walking tracks and only 1.5 hrs from Stanthorpe where you can swim and fish at Storm King Dam. We used low range on and off to get our camper trailer to the site so great for those who appreciate a good off road camp. Adrian was the perfect host. Checked in on us to make sure we didn't need anything and then we were on our own for the rest of the stay. No signal and no sound except for the breeze through the trees and the water flowing across the rocks. We took our three dogs and they were able to stay off leash the entire time. Highly recommend. We will be back 👍
