**IMPORTANT INFORMATION** Cracknback Campground is situated almost half way between Kempsey Shire and Armidale Shire. They are each responsible for this road. The boundary between the two shires is at Blackbird Flat - which is 12 km from us towards Kempsey. The Armidale Shire section of road is officially closed, which means if you were to have an accident on their section of road you would not be covered by insurance. We are obliged to pass on this information as it must be your decision whether to drive that last section. If you choose to come here our gates are open and we would love to host you.* Our working farm is located between Kempsey and Armidale at Lower Creek in mid-north NSW. We have campsites right on the beautiful Macleay River which is famous for Bass fishing, kayaking and swimming. * Head out for a bushwalk or take the mountain bike for a spin. * Beautiful mountain ranges. * 16 very roomy sites, flushing toilets, hot showers * We are dog friendly...if your dog is friendly. * Fire pits provided but please bring your own wood. Additional guests welcome at $20 per head per night over 15 years old - children 15 and under are free.

Cracknback Riverside Camping
Cracknback is a lovely campground, peaceful, rural and remote with enough space around each site not to feel crowded in. We appreciated the basic, tin-shed amenities. At least the water was hot and solar-heated! If you're not comfortable with windy mountain roads, perhaps this isn't for you. But if you've got the right sort of car and the right attitude it's worth the effort. Kayaking and swimming in the river were highlights. Beyond that, not much else to do there except chill. We didn't have time to explore walking opportunities because rain set in. Thank you to Beth and Ben for being friendly hosts and devoting some of your farm to city escapees!
