A beautiful, off grid, riverside campground with amazing swimming hole on private property. This private campground is located in North West NSW. 50 minutes from Tamworth. Conveniently located 20 minutes outside the pretty town of Manilla and right on the river banks of the Namoi River. Also 20 minutes from beautiful Warrabah National Park. Tucked away in a little valley overlooking an idyllic stretch of windy river with an amazing swimming hole, sandy beach, tranquil rapids and a beautiful, mesmerising, majestic rock. You could be sitting on the warm sandy bank overlooking the river and being captivated by the surrounding beauty and the magnificence of the swimming hole. This secret little piece of paradise has been untouched for 40 years and is home to an abundance of birdlife. Birds include the colourful Rainbow bee eaters, Kingfishers, Superb Fairy Wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, Red Browed Finch and many more. A magical place that will delight your senses and make you feel relaxed and at peace. We only have 4 primary off grid campsites except during peak holiday times where we may open up some additional sites. Each site is unique to each other and positioned to maximize privacy and to take advantage of the natural beauty and characteristics or our property. We are not a party campsite. Our little slice of paradise is for peace and relaxation. We also need to respect and encourage the presence and abundance of birds and animals and continue to ensure it is a peaceful and quiet home for them. You can enjoy your music as long as other campsites and the local wildlife can't hear it. We are not in a high traffic area so you may get to enjoy having the place all to yourself. Our campsites have good access for all types of camp set ups and are not impacted by flooding. Nor do they become boggy in wet weather due to the high sand content in our soil. BYO camp toilet and leave no trace. There is a dump point and water refill station 20 minutes away in Manilla. Fish in the river; cod, cat, golden perch and carp. We are dog friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcome. They must be kept on leash and supervised at all times to have no negative impact on local wildlife. ACCESS CONDITIONS: To help you decide if your set up is suitable you can find 2 videos on the FB page on 23 and 25 May 2022 taken of me driving up and down the track to the campsites in my old Ford Courier that is not 4x4. Just google Riverside Escape Camping Manilla on facebook and it will come up. You will also get a sense of the distance between each site. PLEASE NOTE: bookings have been set to 24 hours notice. This is so you have time to review all the information needed for your stay. We may be able to accommodate with less notice. We recognise the Kamilaroi / Gomeroi people as the traditional custodians of this land.

The Lookout with amazing views

We spent the weekend at the lookout site and it was stunning! Caroline gave us all the information we needed. This is a well run hipcamp and I’ll definitely be back again

The Lookout with amazing views

Excellent offgrid camping spot next to Namoi river, very private and quiet. We were fortunate to have the place to ourselves for most of the time we camped there. Access for large rigs possible, just take it slow and pick your line. Fire pits provided with easy access to river for fishing, swimming and bushwalking. Plenty of birdlife around including spotted some wild goats. Town of Manilla has all the essentials with Tamworth nearby. Caroline has been a great host and provided plenty of info beforehand plus checked in during our stay. Definitely recommend.
