A beautiful, off grid, riverside campground with amazing swimming hole on private property. This private campground is located in North West NSW. 50 minutes from Tamworth. Conveniently located 20 minutes outside the pretty town of Manilla and right on the river banks of the Namoi River. Also 20 minutes from beautiful Warrabah National Park. The campground is tucked away in a little valley overlooking an idyllic stretch of windy river with an amazing swimming hole, sandy beach, tranquil rapids and a beautiful, mesmerising, majestic rock. We have four primative campsites suited to all types of large and small, self sufficient campers in RV's, caravans, camp trailers, vans and tents. All sites are unique and positioned to enhance space and privacy as well as proximity and views of the river. They all showcase the varying, natural beauty and characteristics of the landscape. You can also book our amazing, award winning glamping tent. We are not a party campsite. Our little slice of paradise is for peace and relaxation. We also need to respect and encourage the presence and abundance of birds and animals and continue to ensure it is a peaceful and quiet home for them. You can enjoy your music just as long as other campsites and the local wildlife can't hear it. Manilla, only 20 minutes away has two dump points and water refill stations as well as a good number of shops to cater to all your needs during your stay. We are not in a high traffic area so you may get to enjoy having the place all to yourself. Our campsites have good access for all types of camp set ups and are not impacted by flooding. Nor do they become boggy in wet weather due to the high sand content in our soil. You could be sitting on the warm sandy bank overlooking the river and being captivated by the surrounding beauty and the magnificence of the swimming hole. This secret little piece of paradise has been untouched for 40 years and is home to an abundance of birdlife. Birds include the colourful Rainbow bee eaters, Kingfishers, Superb Fairy Wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, Red Browed Finch and many more. A magical place that will delight your senses and make you feel relaxed and at peace. BYO camp toilet and leave no trace. Fish in the river; cod, cat, golden perch and carp. Well behaved dogs on leash and supervised at all times are welcome. If you would like to enquire about having the place to yourselves send me a message. This is our most private campsite located on a beautiful stretch of river upstream from the main swimming hole. You can camp right on the riverbank with the river below. There is nice mix of shady and sunny spots to set up. Our site most suitable for camping groups. The river is lovely to swim in. It is waste height up to the middle of the river and about 2 metres deep on the other side so it's a nice river for children to swim. The river is great for fishing with murray cod, yellow belly and of course carp. There are lots of tortoises to spot in the river as well. There is an abundance of birds that you will see from your campsite like superb fairy wrens, red browed finch, double barred finch, king fishes and more. You can search "Riverside Escape Camping Manilla" on Facebook and there is lots of info on the facebook page to get a sense of this beautiful campsite. Must have your own camp toilet.  Manilla is only a 20 minute drive if you need supplies or a Dump Point.  Beautiful Warrabah National Park 20 is minutes up the road.  SITE SUITABLE FOR:   Caravan, RV, camper trailer and tent friendly.  GROUP SIZE:  Can fit 2 camp set ups. More if they are small or tents. DISTANCE TO THE MAIN SWIMMING HOLE: Our furthest site from the main swimming hole but still a short walk or drive to the main swimming hole via the track or a nice walk along the river to the swimming hole.  This site has it's own river access directly below with a lovely swimming spot and lovely stretch of river. ACCESS: Access into this site is good. There is space at the bottom to turn around when you need to leave.  The track down to the campsite has good width and height clearance. Please see the videos referenced below to check the track suitability for your set up. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LOOKOUT SITE: Our most popular site. Stunning, elevated views over the swimming hole. One of our closest to the swimming hole. May need leveling chocks. SUITABLE FOR: Caravans, RV’s, Camp Trailers. Can accommodate small to medium Tents. GROUP SIZE: Can accommodate two set ups. If you are experienced and use leveling chocks. The view is worth the effort. - Teenagers are charged the same price as children. Use the children option for teenagers when booking. SITE IS SUITABLE FOR:   Large camp vehicles; Caravans, RV's, camp trailers etc.  The ground is not 100% flat so leveling chocks may be needed.  Tent Camping: I have had tent campers on this site without any problems.  For tents I would recommend The Grassy Grove site or Enchanting with views of the river site.  ABOUT THIS SITE: Our most popular site.  This site hosts the most incredible stunning, picturesque vantage point overlooking the best that Riverside Escape has to offer;  the beautiful swimming hole,  the majestic rock, the babbling rapids, the sandy beach and it's lush surrounds. You can easily sit and stare at the view for hours.  Words and photos don't do it justice.  If you find us on Facebook you can watch all videos that I posted in May 2022 including the videos of me driving down into the campsite and another driving back out so that you can check the suitability of your set up. Our closest campsite to the amazing swimming hole with it's sandy beach, gentle rapids and magnificent rock.  Best for tents, car camping and small camp trailers because you need to navigate a few pine trees and a narrow gate into this particular campsite. This site is nestled in an open, spacious, grassy pine grove, overlooking the best riverside escape offers and offers a lovely mix of sun and shade. If you find us on Facebook you can watch all videos that I posted in May 2022 including the videos of me driving down into the campsite and another driving back out so that you can check the suitability of your set up. In the video I point out the various sites. You will be able to see the location of the different campsites and where they are in relation to the swimming hole. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is our 6th year in a row returning to this beautiful camping spot, and it never disappoints. If you haven’t been here yet, it absolutely needs to be on your to-do list. Caroline is an amazing host—welcoming, friendly, and genuinely lovely. This time we stayed at the Grassy Grove site, which has now become one of our personal favourites (and that’s saying something, as we’ve stayed at all the sites over the years). It’s perfectly located close to the swimming hole and surrounded by stunning scenery. If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with nature, unwind, or simply reset your state of mind, this is the place. Peaceful, beautiful, and grounding in all the right ways. Stay beautiful, Manilla — see you again next year 🌿

Thanks Caroline, we had another fantastic stay at your place. Best swimming hole ever, great weather and so quiet just to unwind before Country Music Festival started. Such a great place we are about to have our 7th trip out there with a couple of friends.

Great camp spot very secluded in the valley. Host provided plenty of good information prior to visit especially about access and where the site was located. Nice shade and good easy access to the swimming hole a few other campers there but all very quiet with no one to disturb the serenity campsites are suitable for all year round with plenty of campfire spots if you were there in winter.

What a beautiful spot for a relaxing get away right by the river on the private spot. Took our 9 metre motorhome and had mo issues getting there and despite us having rain we got out ok too. Highly recommend and would love to come back again. Thanks Caroline for having us x

This is a magnificent spot! The birdlife is amazing! So, if you enjoy the sounds of bird songs, this is place will not disappoint. If you prefer to cast a line, the fishing is peaceful. The fish seemed to avoid me, but perhaps you will have better luck.
