The campground is tucked away in a little valley overlooking an idyllic stretch of windy river with an amazing swimming hole, sandy beach, tranquil rapids and a beautiful, mesmerising, majestic rock.
We have four primative campsites suited to all types of large and small, self sufficient campers in RV's, caravans, camp trailers, vans and tents. All sites are unique and positioned to enhance space and privacy as well as proximity and views of the river. They all showcase the varying, natural beauty and characteristics of the landscape.
You can also book our amazing, award winning glamping tent.
We are not a party campsite. Our little slice of paradise is for peace and relaxation. We also need to respect and encourage the presence and abundance of birds and animals and continue to ensure it is a peaceful and quiet home for them. You can enjoy your music just as long as other campsites and the local wildlife can't hear it.
Manilla, only 20 minutes away has two dump points and water refill stations as well as a good number of shops to cater to all your needs during your stay.
We are not in a high traffic area so you may get to enjoy having the place all to yourself.
Our campsites have good access for all types of camp set ups and are not impacted by flooding. Nor do they become boggy in wet weather due to the high sand content in our soil.
You could be sitting on the warm sandy bank overlooking the river and being captivated by the surrounding beauty and the magnificence of the swimming hole.
This secret little piece of paradise has been untouched for 40 years and is home to an abundance of birdlife. Birds include the colourful Rainbow bee eaters, Kingfishers, Superb Fairy Wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, Red Browed Finch and many more.
A magical place that will delight your senses and make you feel relaxed and at peace.

Fish in the river; cod, cat, golden perch and carp.

We are located near Manilla, which lies 45km northwest of Tamworth. You can purchase all you need at the shopping centres there, or in Manilla where you can can pick up groceries and fuel.
We are suitable for caravans or motorhomes with self contained toilets and showers as we have no facilities. It is essential that visitors have these facilities. All waste must be removed. There is a waste dump station in Manilla.
Our property offers flat access from the road, with plenty of room to manoeuvre. We recommend 4WDs - please message us if you are unsure about your vehicle.
You are welcome to stay near the river or in a hidden valley. But again stress the need for self contained removable toilet facilities.
Swim in the river and have a camp fire. Walk in the area, see the abundance of birds and wildlife.
This is a hilly and mountainous area to explore, you are welcome to go fishing along the river bank, or bring a camera as it is a photographer's delight. Very private camping areas.
Enjoy listening to the crackle of the campfire in the evenings.

Bimbivale is a working farm located half way between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway. We grow superfine wool, sheep and beef cattle, and we enjoy working with our Australian Stock Horses, Welsh Mountain Ponies and various working dogs on farm.
There are critically endangered White Box - Yellow Box - Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodlands located across the property, making it a beautiful place to experience the great Aussie outdoors. Being granite country, the property offers some special rocky outcrops and features. You may get to see some rare or even endangered species here.
At 1100 m elevation, the winters are cold (with occasional snow), and the summers are divine, with daytime maximums reaching a top of around 28-30 degrees.
Activities include bushwalking, mountain biking, fishing for trout or yellow belly in the farm dams, watching spectacular sunrises or sunsets from elevated parts of the New England landscape, watching your campfire crackle (fire season permitting), visiting the nearby Dobson's Gin Distillery or Kentucky General Store (10-12 km), or treating yourself to Uralla's many fine eateries or shopping experiences just 20 km up the highway.
Bimbivale is also just 45 minutes from Tamworth and its Country Music Festival and AELEC (Australia Equine & Livestock Events Centre), or just 30 minutes from Armidale, host city to the University of New England and base for visiting the many National Parks and World Heritage Wilderness areas the region offers.
Our camp sites are located along a central ridge line, which is fully accessible by motorhomes, caravans, camper trailers and two wheel drive cars in dry weather conditions. Most sites have a fire pit and access to water, but we recommend you byo drinking water. We can top up drinking water if required.
Currently we prefer visitors who have their own ensuite/toilet facilities, although we will soon offer a toilet on-site. Sometimes we can offer eggs and fruit or vegetables from our orchard and garden.
We are happy for your well-behaved dog to visit with you, as long as it remains confined or on a leash at all times.
If you have more than 6 guests or 3 cars in your group, please book additional sites and we can ensure you are all able to camp together.

Our bush bathroom provides a toilet and wood fired hot shower. Or you might chose to relax in a hot bath overlooking the river.
We welcome nature lovers and offer activities such as bush walking, bird watching, native wildlife, swimming, picnicking, kayaking (double kayak provided), catch and release fishing (seasonal and with current Fishing Licence), and big open night skies for astronomy enthusiasts. We are a small farming enterprise and currently establishing aquaculture (yabby) ponds and can offer an introductory tour to those who are interested.
The hut sleeps two (double bed) but there is plenty of room for those who wish to bring a camper trailer or van or pitch a tent. As a working property, you may need to navigate around the odd cow pat! We have recently installed an old roof top ten on legs which can sleep two (double bed size).
We do ask that you carefully read our rules (see link) to avoid any conflict with neighbouring properties or our attempts at retaining a relatively undisturbed, healthy river environment and not negatively impact our surrounding community.
We will always have a meet and greet with our guests at some point during your stay, but promise we won't intrude upon your privacy.

The nearby village offers a distillery where you will be amazed by the selection of tastings (both liquor and food). Further up the road Uralla has all the extras you might want, with cafes and hotels, bakery, butcher, IGA supermarket and much more.
Picturesque foggy mornings will greet you and stunning sunsets will delight you over a glass of wine or beer at the end of each day, as you listen to the crackling of your campfire.

This is our 6th year in a row returning to this beautiful camping spot, and it never disappoints. If you haven’t been here yet, it absolutely needs to be on your to-do list.
Caroline is an amazing host—welcoming, friendly, and genuinely lovely. This time we stayed at the Grassy Grove site, which has now become one of our personal favourites (and that’s saying something, as we’ve stayed at all the sites over the years). It’s perfectly located close to the swimming hole and surrounded by stunning scenery.
If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with nature, unwind, or simply reset your state of mind, this is the place. Peaceful, beautiful, and grounding in all the right ways.

Our stay at Oakey Farm was wonderful. The facilities were spotless and there was ample spots to park our van. Jenny was incredibly responsive. The pool was so refreshing and a bit of a hub for all of us camping. The trip into Tamworth was quick but we were far enough out to enjoy the stars. Rachel very easy to deal with,this is our 2nd stay there.Location is fantastic just a 1km from centre of town..Happy to help with things to do around town.We stayed in our motorhome on site but still had access to a great little kitchen set up and a nice country shower with good hot water.

Loved Rach’s place! So welcoming and kind!
Came to town for a music event, and it was lovely to even get to work with Rach and meet some other musicians who patiently taught me some guitar! It was like staying at a very cool friends house, with the best rain water shower!! Perfect short stroll (or ride to town) Nundle Rocks!! Thank you!!

Exceptional property to park our van at for a week. We enjoyed the fabulous hospitality of Jenny and Johnny as well as their magnificent pool and gardens. Enjoyed many an afternoon platter under those trees.

Thankyou so March for our wonderful stay at Oakley Farm. You and John made us feel like part of the family and enjoyed our chats especially chatting to John about wind farms and solar very interesting. We had 3 couples join us at our stay and were all really happy to be the first caravans to try out your new 4 powered sites especially with the 38 degree days and the chance to cool off in your pool. The gardens and pool area are a credit to both of you we really enjoyed our drinks and cheese platters under the tree’s. I don’t believe you would find a better place to stay for the music festival in Tamworth and will certainly be back in the coming years. Oh almost forgot it was great having the extra two toilets and showers that you had recently installed so close to our vans. Jenny and John were fantastic hosts. Beautiful, down to earth people that have a put a lot of work into ensuring guests are comfortable, looked after and happy. The property is private and spacious, a close drive to town, and the perfect place to retreat to each day. Beautiful sunsets, showers and toilets were always clean too. Meeting Ted the resident pooch was a bonus! Will definitely be back. Thanks for having us!

4 nights at Oakey Farm
Amazing spot just far enough outside Tamworth. This is an absolute gem with new bathrooms with showers. Pool for cooling down and lots of space. We slept very soundly as it is peaceful here in the evenings. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great spot within an easy drive to Tamworth. Great hosts who have put so much effort into every little detail.

Amazing camping spot close to Tamworth. Really outstanding hosts who keep the property spotless and welcoming. New bathrooms were extremely well kept and nice to have showers and toilets. This is just far enough out of Tamworth for a great peaceful nights sleep and an easy quick drive into Tamworth. It was a perfect spot for the festival TCMF as it is very close but also a spot away from the crowds to relax and enjoy the view. We will definitely be back!

An historic venue and an interesting tale in revival, the Tamworth Showgrounds have evolved over the last century to be the impressive event space that it is today. Originally used as an army training camp, the showgrounds have been transformed several times throughout its history.
Today the space is known as Paceway Tamworth and hosts a wide array of events from racing to weddings. If you're camping near the Tamworth Showground, it is well worth it to see what's on.
