A spiral staircase leads guests high up a stringy bark tree, in the middle of a stunning piece of land in the Wollombi Village. The Birdhouse is a simply beautiful and unique, 12sqm retreat. Within the little space is a heater/cooler, refrigerator, kettle, TV/DVD player and comfortable pull-out sofa bed. The dining table can be folded down. The custom kitchen vanity holds the fridge, sink and a couple of drawers containing cutlery, crockery and a great DVD collection. Power sockets for charging devices, running water and a composting loo are all housed within the Birdhouse. The view from above is best enjoyed when perched on the directors chairs on the deck. Complimentary drinking water, tea/coffee, breakfast bars, fruit and chocolates are all provided. Wander 200m down the road to enjoy a number of local dining options, the renowned Wollombi Tavern and the shops and galleries within the historic Village. Guests will need to do without a shower for a night or two, or bring their own camping shower.The Birdhouse is nestled amongst the trees on green undulating parkland, beside the Wollombi Brook and overlooking the beautiful Millpond. Immerse yourself in the historic Wollombi Village just 200m away for all your supplies and needs. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the area and sample the magnificent wines of the Hunter Valley. Natural beauty abounds and if you're looking for an adventure, Yengo National Park is 24 mins away, Corrabare State Forest is 42 mins away and Watagans National Park is 1.25hrs away. The Wollombi Birdhouse
The birdhouse is an unbelievable place to stay, it's comfortable and peaceful, the town is lovely too, and so are the people there. But the owners of this property are what really makes the difference, they are amazing. Do yourself a favor and visit this place.

We loved our stay at the birdhouse, unique spot with plenty of privacy on the property, great view with cosy furnishings and fantastic location to the town. Communication was great, finding the accommodation was easy with parking. Would recommend.

Lovely!

Such a lovely place to spend the night! So many great touches like museli bars for breakfast, the DVD collection and the picnic table on the lake - very relaxing! Enjoyed hearing the rain on the roof overnight

My son and I loved The Birdhouse! It was well laid out with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The surroundings were beautiful and Stephanie was kind and accommodating - I’d definitely recommend!

Unique Stay in a Beautiful Setting
The Wollombi Birdhouse
Had all we needed for one night stay. The lake is beautiful, and the accommodation was quirky! We always like a bit of character so it was exactly what we were looking for. Everything we needed was close by, pub, cafe, shop, all up the road and can be accessed in 2 minutes.

We loved the tranquility and the novelty of staying in the bird house. It was clean and well appointed. We were warmly welcomed. The highlight for us was to end our evening sitting quietly by the fire. Yes, the house is definitely tiny.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Birdhouse - super close to town so you can walk in for dinner & breakfast, but the property itself is quiet & has incredible views from the balcony where we spent the afternoon as the sunset. Very cosy quarters, but nice to experience something unique & different.

The Wollombi Birdhouse
We loved our overnight stay at The Birdhouse! Such chill vibes, with obvious attention to detail towards the styling and provisions for guests. Really was a relaxing spot to wind down and listen to music, or just the birds! Only a short walk into town to explore. Picturesque surroundings.. I enjoyed taking photographs at both the property and within the township. Thanks Stephanie!

I recently stayed at a treehouse on Stephanie’s land and it was an incredible experience. The location was super quiet, offering a peaceful retreat connected to nature. Wollombi, a fantastic tiny town in the Hunter Valley, was a delight to visit. The hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They provided a fireplace that was super easy to start, adding to the cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and nature-filled getaway!

Super cute stay at the Birdhouse. Bed is quite comfy. Enjoyed hours by the fire watching the stars. Although the Birdhouse is quite close to the main property it still felt private. Stephanie is a great host and really welcoming. Town is very close, few mins walk, packed full of character. Perfect one night escape from the city. Thanks for having us.

I loved the birdhouse so much ! such a quite , peace to live , Wollombi such a cute small town and the food was amazing ! Me and cindy had so much fun for the last 3 days , Stephanie such a really nice host ! Thanks for helping us with the bonfire 😂 definitely come back next time ! xx

The Wollombi Birdhouse
We booked the Birdhouse for my parents for a little Hunter Valley getaway. They loved every minute of their little home up in the tree with a comfy bed, surrounded by birds. Stephanie was an amazing host and nothing was too much effort for her. She left a beautiful bowl of fruit for them on arrival and bottled water. There is a little fridge in the Birdhouse so food and drinks can stay cold but with limited cooking/food prep facilities it’s a treat to walk into Wollombi to enjoy meals at the local cafes & pubs. Stephanie left great information in the Birdhouse on the local walks, restaurants and shops and there is even an art gallery & gift shop on site! The firepit was a treat for night times & there was plenty of firewood to forage along the nearby river. We look forward to experiencing The Birdhouse ourselves at some stage!

Tree house dream come true
The Wollombi Birdhouse
The cutest little hideaway in Wollombi. Tree house dream come true. Perfect for a short weekend stay. Fridge and everything you needed included. Even had some fun snacks on arrival. The lake seating area is great to relax and read a book. The fire place at night was fun. And the local pubs and cafes are just in walking distance.

The Wollombi Birdhouse
We absolutely loved our BirdHouse stay. Stephanie was welcoming and happy to help if needed although was considerate in giving us our privacy. A little special attention to detail which we enjoyed was some breakfast bars, fruit and water in the fridge on arrival. As you would expect it is quite small inside although quite adequate with the area including kitchen facilities, toilet and small double bed. I would recommend taking bottled drinking water and we used our own for a quick body wash as there is no shower. Also probably best to take your own Firewood if you would like to enjoy the Fireplace provided. The BirdHouse is located very close to town with a very easy scenic walk, and has a beautiful outlook from the balcony across to a small lake. We would definitely recommend this as a camping alternative and for short stays. Thank you Stephanie.

It was a very wonderful experience being there. We enjoyed our stay there. It was very new experience for me. One should must try. And it would be better if you carry cash, it will be very handy to buy veggies and fruits on your way. And beforehand, you will not have network if you are using vodafone. Birdhouse was very neat and clean. Stephanie and her sister were very helpful and friendly. You can enjoy your night with bonfire. Must recommended bonfire, worth the night you will spend with your friend or loved one❤️❤️. Highly recommended place to be. Thankyou for the stay stephanie❤️

The Bird House is just lovely! Its not far from the main house yet still very quiet/private. Lovely view of the dam. The Bird House is well equipped and provides everything you need. Bed was super comfy. Easy stroll into town. Stephanie met us with a smile and was very welcoming.would definately visit again.

The Wollombi Birdhouse
It was a lovely site with pleasant outlook into the bush. I was surprised how close it was to the house on the property but because the tree house faced the other way it still felt private. Would recommend the sitting around the fire, even though they charged extra for a bit of wood....would have been a nice touch for that to be included. The location is only a hundred metres from the lovely town centre so you can go into town for food or picnic on the site. Overall a very unique experience.
