I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent. Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please BYO firewood. Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit. Children 16 & under stay for free. This is a great option for those who prefer a few more comforts during their stay. Families are especially welcome here – there’s plenty of room for kids to ride non-motorised bikes, run around, make noise, and simply enjoy being kids in a safe and open space. It’s the kind of place where childhood adventures come alive. We also have a bike track and playground to keep the kids entertained while you sit back and relax. We also welcome groups – if you're interested in booking as a group, please message the host, and we can open up extra sites to accommodate you. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit under the stars – perfect for roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply soaking in the peaceful sounds of the countryside. As a working farm, you’ll often see cattle, sheep, and horses grazing in nearby paddocks (and if you're staying creekside, they may even share the paddock with you), adding to the authentic rural charm. We loved our stay. The place is beautiful and the hot tub is definitely a highlight. You can see how much love Lindsay and Pam put into the place to make it comfortable and cozy. Luke was a great host, he was very welcoming and friendly. We were also able to feed the highland cows which was such an incredible experience. Weekend Trip to Fern Valley Ranch

We had a wonderful stay at this camping in Tiny Fern (Cabin) last weekend. The cabin was very well equipped with everything we needed, including all essential utensils, a flush toilet, doona and towels, and even an air conditioner/heater for comfort. It really couldn’t have been better in terms of amenities. The only minor improvement I could suggest would be adding additional stairs leading down to the firepit area, as access there felt a bit limited. The site also has a separate facility nearby with additional toilets and hot showers, which was very convenient. The camping area itself was spacious and well laid out, giving a great sense of privacy and relaxation. Overall, it’s a perfect balance between camping and a farm stay. There are plenty of enjoyable activities such as tractor rides, cow feeding, campfires, and even some light trekking. It’s an ideal spot for anyone looking to enjoy nature without giving up comfort.

It’s tranquil, rustic and incredibly comfortable, with a peaceful atmosphere that helped me slow down and reconnect with nature. Everything felt authentic and unpretentious, making it easy to relax from the moment I arrived. Whether I was sitting around, enjoying the surroundings, or simply taking in the quiet, it felt like a genuine tonic for the soul. If you’re looking for luxury, this probably isn’t it. But if you’re after a beautiful, peaceful escape with character and charm, it’s hard to beat. I left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to returning. Weekend Trip to Hedley Hideaways - Thompson's camp

This hut was a great spot for a couple to join in with a group camp for someone that’s not a fan of camping. The hut has cooking facilities, a very comfortable bed, an electric fire as well as air conditioning and a great ensuite out the back with an amazing shower that some 5 star hotels could learn from. Seats on the balcony received a lot of use as well as the shade during the day for the whole group camp to gather under. The only thing to further improve the hut experience would be a bbq out on the verandah but other than, what an amazing stay.

We brought the kids for a Farm stay experience and they loved it! We stayed in the ‘Blue Wren’ villa for the long weekend and it had everything we needed for 2 small children.. Margaret, Russell and April were very kind and welcoming. It’s a beautiful place to stay and the kids loved feeding the animals, the tractor ride, pony ride & peddle carts. Great location, easy drive to the wineries etc.

A lovely secluded cabin a few minutes walk from local amenities and pub. Great location to base yourself when visiting the area. Cabin was well equipped, as others have mentioned the outside shower is excellent and the fire pit was great for the cooler evenings.
