Best of both worlds
Usually finding a property that feels this remote with the calibre of views requires a bit of distance from town. We were a short 12 mins drive into Dungog which was super convenient and had immediate access into the Barringtons to explore the many hikes and tracks on offer. Valley views stretching across the tops was the hallmark of this camping spot that felt more remote than it’s location actually was. The hike to the waterfall was marked with pink tape making it easy to find. While we made the track with 1 adult, 4 year old and a 7 year old it isn’t a casual stroll and will require some leg work. Definitely worth the adventure though. The host was incredibly helpful and easy to contact for any help making the most of the sprawling 640 acre property. We will be back!

Wet weekend in the clouds
We booked the Southern Comfort site on a rainy weekend. It was an great experience camping up in the clouds. We were fortunate enough for the clouds to clear, nd reveal the untouched amazing view over Dungog and Newcastle off on the horizon. The access in is a well maintained, all weather road. We easily towed our 23ft van up to the site. All the sites are clearly marked. The grounds are well maintained. Some of the facilities are a bit run down, however it does look like they are in the process of improving the property. We didn't get the opportunity to venture out and explore the property, but it looks like there are plenty of walking tracks and things to explore. We will definitely book again, raining or not.

Wonderful spot for camping, we had a great time. Nice view, the walk to the big fig tree was well worthwhile and the compost toilets were the best I've ever used! Would definitely come back, thanks for hosting :)

We love this spot! Our second time staying here and it is so lush and green. Beautiful views. Clean facilities. Perfect for the kids. Heaps of space from other campers.
