Escape the hustle and reconnect with nature at our peaceful farmstay campsite on Putty Road, nestled in the heart of rural New South Wales. Whether you’re after wide open spaces, shady creekside relaxation, or a unique countryside experience, our working farm has something for everyone. Campers can choose from two main areas: 🌿 Creekside Camping – Pitch your tent or park your van near the serene seasonal creek at the bottom of the property. After rain, the creek comes to life, offering a peaceful spot that’s perfect for unwinding. 🌾 Main Camping Area – Stay closer to our well-equipped amenities block, which features four clean toilets and two hot showers, along with access to power and water. This is a great option for those who prefer a few more comforts during their stay. Families are especially welcome here – there’s plenty of room for kids to ride non-motorised bikes, run around, make noise, and simply enjoy being kids in a safe and open space. It’s the kind of place where childhood adventures come alive. We also welcome groups – if you're interested in booking as a group, please message the host, and we can open up extra sites to accommodate you. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit under the stars – perfect for roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply soaking in the peaceful sounds of the countryside. As a working farm, you’ll often see cattle, sheep, and horses grazing in nearby paddocks (and if you're staying creekside, they may even share the paddock with you), adding to the authentic rural charm. Kids and adults alike love watching the animals roam. Bring your camera, your campfire stories, and your sense of adventure – then relax under the stars. This unique slice of country life is ready to welcome you. Please note that we are currently experiencing issues with the dam retaining water. As a result, the water level is lower than usual. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Also please note there is no mobile reception at the camp ground, except for limited Telstra coverage (occasionally one bar) in some spots—perfect for a digital detox!

This camping is close to our well-equipped amenities block, which features four clean toilets and two hot showers, you can also gain access to power (please see host for details on power). 🌿 Creekside Camping – Pitch your tent or park your van near the serene seasonal creek at the bottom of the property. This area is set in a large open paddock, giving you plenty of space to spread out, relax, or let the kids run free and play to their heart’s content. After rain, the creek comes to life – it’s a peaceful, picturesque spot that’s perfect for unwinding. Kids love splashing in the shallow water and playing in the soft creekside sand, making it an ideal base for family fun and nature-filled adventures. This campsite is located in a shared paddock with our farm animals, and at times the animals may be grazing in the area with you. As this is an active farm environment, there may be animal droppings in the paddock, and the area is not mown or manicured to the same standard as the main campground. If the grass becomes long, we mow selected areas of the paddock to ensure there are suitable, comfortable spaces for camping. Please note there is no mobile reception at the campground, perfect for a digital detox!

Thompson's Stockman Hut

The Thompson's Stockman Hut is a simple, charming one-room farm hut set within our working property at Thompson Campground. It’s cosy, practical and full of quiet country charm. The hut is entirely yours to enjoy. Inside you’ll find an open-plan space with a comfortable bed, a small breakfast bar, and everything you need for a relaxed stay. Your private bathroom is located at the back of the hut and includes a shower and toilet, easily accessed directly from the building. There are no shared amenities — the hut and facilities are exclusively for your use during your stay. The hut is air conditioned and also has an electric fireplace to keep you comfortable during your stay. IMPORTANT NOTE: Pillows and linen (e.g sheets, blankets, towels, tea towels etc) is NOT provided. You must BYO linen. This is not a luxury hotel — it’s a genuine, old-style workers’ hut, thoughtfully cared for and full of warmth. It’s perfect for couples, solo travellers or anyone wanting to slow down, unplug and enjoy a simple, beautiful country stay. Outside, you share the campground space with our campers, however, campers are not placed close to the hut, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. Ensuring everyone's stay remains peaceful and relaxed. Fall asleep to the sounds of the bush, wake up to birds and open skies, and experience a little piece of farm life at Hedley Hideaways.

We had a fantastic stay in our van at Hedley’s Hideaway – Main Campsite, traveling with others in a van and alos making use of the lovely cabin on the site. This worked perfectly for our small group getaway to the Hunter. The campsite was spacious, level, and easy to find, with plenty of room for everyone to set up with their own outlook. Communication from the host was clear and friendly before and after booking our stay, and the arrival instructions were straightforward. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the description and photos on the listing were accurate. There were some great bonuses -like the playground for the kids. We especially loved the bushwalk from the campsite and the beautiful view from the top, which was a highlight of the stay. Overall, we’d happily recommend Hedley’s Hideaway main campsite to other small groups or families looking for a comfortable, well set up spot, at a great price, and we’d definitely stay again.

The farm is such a quiet and peaceful place. Rikki and her family were incredibly supportive and welcoming. We were looking for some quiet time to start our camper adventure, and we couldn’t have been happier. The amenities are great and very clean, and the kids’ playground was excellent as well. Thanks again for everything!

We had a great stay at Thompsons Campground. Arrival was very easy, and the place is comfortable, peaceful and relaxing, perfect for switching off and enjoying nature. The bathrooms were very clean and pleasant, which we really appreciated. Rikki was very friendly and helpful, and responded to all our questions quickly and clearly. Thank you very much for the hospitality — we would happily stay again and recommend this place to others.

We had an incredible experience. There are a number of campsite options, but during our visit we were the only ones there—so it felt wonderfully private and peaceful. Our riverside spot was spacious and beautifully set up, with a swimming hole in the river that’s been thoughtfully dug out for cooling off. Facilities are excellent and just a short walk away, which made the stay both comfortable and easy. The location is also ideal, sitting close to the Broke wine trail, so you can enjoy tastings and then return to a quiet riverside retreat. Overall, Rikki’s Hipcamp offers the perfect balance of privacy, nature, and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway near Broke.

Great camping spot, lots of shade and nice and peaceful. Although the river was dry and we couldn't paddle our feet in the water we still enjoyed our stay. No fires during warmer months but during winter this spot will be amazing. We will be back again come winter for sure. Lovely to meet owner Rikki 😊

The property is stunning — wide open paddocks, peaceful views, and a beautiful sense of space that instantly makes you slow down and relax. We had a restful, quiet stay at Healy’s Hideaway. The property was as described and the directions were clear which made it easy to find our site and set up camp. The amenities block was a real bonus and nice and clean. Thanks Nikki, we’ll book again when up that way.

Off grid camping in the country with peaceful surroundings and a lovely shallow creek right at your feet. Wide open spaces in the sun or shade, choose your own spot to set up and sit back and relax. Highly recommend this little peace of country paradise. We will be making this one of our regular camp spots for sure. Please note, there is no mobile reception so enjoy this quality time with your friends and family. Close to general store at Bulga for fuel, bottle shop, and hot food, so if you forget anything then it's a 10 minute drive away. Host was amazing with communication.

We had the most amazing trip, such and amazing location. Feels like forever away but only 15 min drive to a large shopping centres and mins to a servo and bottle shop! We will absolutely be back. Thank you

The host Rikki was lovely through chat. The stay was amazing, its cold this time of year, so the fires are a definite must. And there is a warm shower provided for all campers, it was quite calming to watch the cows

Just spent 3 nights here with the family and another family absolutely stunning place with plenty of mountain views, room for the kids to run around and explore, large fire pits and the creek for kids to play . Rikki came down and introduced herself and told us about the property and was very helpful with anything we needed and very responsive with messages. We got to hike up the top of the property with amazing views well worth the walk. The hot showers and flush toilets were just a little luxury to top it all off. Can not recommend this place enough the price and service is excellent we will definitely be returning in the future

We had a fantastic weekend stay at Rikki's property. The land is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, with open paddocks to explore and friendly cows to visit. Such a relaxing countryside experience. There are also some lovely hikes around the property, including a walk up to the plateau with stunning views of the valley. Well worth the effort! The facilities were excellent, with clean toilets and hot showers. One thing to note: the site provides 10amp power, so if you're bringing a 15amp caravan, make sure to bring a converter. Rikki was a great host and set up a massive firepit for us, which kept us warm during the chilly winter nights. They also provided some firewood—though it wasn’t quite enough for the two night, however we had already brought our own. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet escape with great amenities and a beautiful rural setting.
