Wombat's Forrest is a 30 acre off grid property of bluegum forest and rainforest running either side of Brunkerville creek. Booking includes 2 cabins and an equipped campsite. You will have access to the entire property during your stay, complete privacy. Staying here, you are completely hidden from any other man made structure, immersed in nature. The property is located less than 2 hours from Sydney, 20 mins from Cessnock and the Hunter wineries, adjacent to Sugarloaf Conservation area. You'll love the morning and evening birdsong and be surrounded by the colour green by day. At night, be lulled by the music of the froggy symphonies, watch the moon rise over the forrest, and being mesmerised by the warmth and dancing light of a fire. Wallabies visit at dusk and dawn and a Koala has been heard calling at night. A 1km drive from the main road leads to the open living space. There are two cabins, just within sight of each other, a campsite with an outdoor kitchen shed and a large oval lawn. The Sky Cabin (blue) has a very comfortable queen size bed, a large deck, bbq, composting toilet, small equipped kitchen, solar lighting, hot and cold running water, an outdoor hot shower, and slow combustion fireplace inside. The Earth Cabin has an exceptionally comfortable queen size bed, deck, composting toilet, solar lighting, a slow combustion fireplace inside and running water outside a short distance away. If you want to include Belle tents in your booking rather than bring your own you have the option to add those to your booking and we will set them up for you with lighting included, though you will need to BYO beds and bedding. The campsite adjacent to the shed has running water, an outdoor shower and outdoor toilet. The property has short (circular) walks through the bush, and access to Sugarloaf Conservation area (with further walks and access to the Great North Walk). But its the ideal place to just chill. We offer camping and indoor accommodation. Our property is located on a relaxed 5 acres at the gateway to the Hunter Valley. Enjoy the lush forests and views of the mountain nearby. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk.  The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available. Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water. There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV. The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym. You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks. Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam. There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities. Your furry friend is welcome to holiday with you.

(little curtesy goes a long way) Group bookings accepted with prior notice to save camping areas. Range of six camping areas. CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street. CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas. CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles. CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush. CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

Some of our campsites/ Van sites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY on our Dam site. No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained. Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent. Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please BYO firewood. Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit. Children 16 & under stay for free. Weekend Trip to Wombat's Forrest

A wonderful place surrounded by nature, very cozy and perfect for disconnecting from daily life. The cabins are comfortable, very well equipped, and have everything needed for a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Being able to enjoy the fire pit makes the experience even more special and relaxing. It is definitely an ideal place to unwind or for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend it and would absolutely love to come back.

4 nights at The Bower Farm

The Bower Farm was absolutely stunning, Rach and Matt were great hosts and very accommodating. We loved our stay so much it was hard to leave. The tent was clean and cozy and had plenty of games/books to keep you entertained. Picking our own sunflowers in the field was a highlight, alongside relaxing by the fire on the hammock and soaking under the stars in the hot tub. Highly recommend staying here if you want uninterrupted time in nature. Will definitely be back.

We had a relaxing 2 nights in the cabin. Cabin was clean and comfy bed. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with BBQ, pizza oven ,fridge etc. A couch to lie down also. Firepit and outdoor shower (cold). The towns of Stroud and Dungog are a short drive away. Which we visited. The hosts are great, Keiran took us up to cabin and gave all info. Highly recommended.

The Property was amazing and my friends and I had an amazing time. The place had so many things already there so we could come relatively light with just couple things extra. We enjoyed time around the campfire and exploring the vicinity. Lucy had left one of the belle tents up for us which was great because we needed an extra space. The lights around the property lit up nicely at night and having hot showers and hot water to wash was so good to have. 100% recommend to go and we will be there again.

We loved our stay at the Coral Tree Cottage. Lisa was super helpful and great with communication. The cottage has been renovated but done so to keep the rustic vibe. The reception isn’t the greatest but was super good to go off grid and recharge from a busy life. Would stay again

Weekend Trip to The Bower Farm

Our stay at the Regent Bower was so relaxing which is exactly what we wanted. After being greeted by Matt we were left on our own to experience and appreciate the facilities and area. There was everything we needed, from cooking equipment to a fridge to cleaning products to the toilet and shower facilities. Plus extra comfort items like a very comfortable bed and multiple seats to relax in, plus a hammock. They went out of our way to ensure we were comfortable in the 40 degree heat and there was plenty of shade for us to relax in as well. Still very close to Stroud for shops and worth a short drive to Gloucester, Dungog or Barrington Tops NP for a day trip.

Fantastic place with friendly and helpful owners - everything's been thought of. The 2 cabins are well equiped, clean and very comfortable. There's several different places set up in the shade with seating, fireplaces and sinks/taps. Lots of good camping sites. Highly recommended - we'll be back!

Loved our stay at Coral tree cottage. We would normally camp but my daughter wanted something a little different for her bday so we got the cottage. It was the best of both worlds. Still felt like we were camping surrounded by bushland with the extra comforts. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for, a cozy rustic cabin surrounded by chickens walking around and kangaroos. And loved having the farm dog Titan coming to visit us. Nice walks on the property too. Really enjoyed our stay and my daughter had a great bday. Thanks Lisa!

Our family glamping trip at The Bower Farm Tent was an absolute success—we're already planning our next visit! The genuine hospitality and incredible personal touches made this experience truly unforgettable. The owners' effort was outstanding. Traveling with three kids can be tricky, but they expertly set up the tent for all three girls' comfort. They were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our entire stay. The real highlight for our horse-mad eldest was the special horse riding lesson organized on-site at the Bower Farm—zero travel time and the thrill of her year! The girls also loved their brilliant, long ride on the family farm tractor. Their generosity shone through in the stunning fresh food pack: delicious farm eggs, a tasty local wine, amazing local sourdough bread, and little treats for the kids. Every item was carefully chosen. Finally, the setting is pure magic. We were lucky to spot kangaroos and mesmerizing fireflies! Nothing beats the hot tub and campfire beneath that incredible starry sky—far from the city lights, the stars are truly breathtaking. Thank you for the perfect blend of comfort, adventure, and kindness. We highly recommend The Bower Farm Tent for a five-star escape!

Our stay at Abotsbys Farm Belle tent was great. All very clean and organised and the bed was comfy too. The camping toilet behind the tent worked well and was very private. On a pretty piece of land. Close to everything in Port Stephens. Easy camping!
