Cascades Cottage is named after the beautiful Cascades that have a drop of around 10 meters, at the center of which you can cool down in a natural plunge pool or sit and listen to the water cascade down a 4-meter fall. It is an ideal space on a hot summer day to take a camp chair sit with a glass of wine and rejuvenate in absolute privacy.
A stay at Cascades Cottage can be any sort of holiday you like - a romantic getaway, a relaxing and peaceful break, or a fun and action-packed adventure exploring the farm, nearby national parks, the fall, and the rapids which is off the farm about 10 minutes away but a fun and dynamic place where you can swim and explore the natural rock pools that run from the top of a natural stream.
Native wildlife make the farm their home. Wallabies, koalas, and platypus can often be seen enjoying the surroundings. Kayak on the dam or spend time on the pier waiting for the platypus to play in the early mornings and late afternoon. A stay at the Cascades will bring you close to nature and give you a wonderful tree change for the duration of your stay.
Guests have access to a large freshwater dam and two kayaks are provided for your use (as well as life jackets). Guests can explore the whole property of 220 acres. There are many waterways and rain forest areas as well as fields and paddocks. We are pet friendly.

The bird life is plentiful with many rare and amazing species either visiting on their annual journeys or calling it home such as the yellow tailed black cockatoo.
Several species of wallabies graze around the cabin in the early mornings or late afternoons.
Elands is a quiet village with an eclectic community, a Post Office and General store.
Our closest town being Wingham is approximately 40 minutes drive the last 16 klms up the mountain is unsealed. It is suitable for all types of vehicles but can be rough at times.
The cabin has mobile phone service for those with Telstra or Aldi SIM cards.
We have 3 generations of family living on our property and we are only interested in hosting a single female or couple.
We have for many years hosted helpers on our farm but now are offering it as a short term stay (2 nights minimum)
We are completely off grid and try to live in a simple manner with solar, tank water and an outdoor composting toilet.
We are only just starting to rent our cabin out and so far have no reviews but have many 5 star reviews on other platforms such as HelpX
Unfortunately we don’t allow pets as we have our own dogs on the property who have grown up with the surrounding wildlife and pose no threat.

This is rustic living, no flash flush here but a practical long drop eco-friendly compost toilet and a fantastic gas hot water shower out in the elements!
You will need to bring your own bedding, pillows sheets etc. we are on tank water and at times it is low! Dogs are welcome but please bring their own bedding.
The property is also home to local wildlife and filled with lots of old trees, plants and flowers whilst enjoying your morning cuppa on the balcony.
As we are 45 minutes from the closest town, you will need to fuel up before you head up the mountain. Also bring drinking water and all the food you will require for your stay. The Elands general store carries basic groceries, beer wine and spirits.
Loads of walking tracks nearby; the Legendary Ellenborough Falls is 5 mins by car or half hour walk through the Elands Village.
There is an endless network of gravel roads and fire trails waiting to be explored, taking you through the national parks, state forests and undulating farmlands of the Bulga Plateau.
This delightful self contained cabin is a perfect getaway for you to work on your project, (longer stays can be negotiated) be it visual art; a book; a film script; photography or simply forest breathing to clear the mind.
Blue Knob (Kaoraoa) at 1014 metres, is one of the highest peaks in the forest
with Panoramic Plateau Views of the surrounding country 40 mins by car.
I'm retired now and appreciate even more, living in paradise. The usually good amount of rain, the ever warmer summers when we can swim in the Ellenborough River. Yes after 40 years on the Bulga I can feel the changes in the environment.

Wingham has award winning coffee & dining, golf club, town hotel with great meals & live bands most weekends, swimming pool (seasonal), bowling club, monthly markets, Coles, fuel, chemist, rifle range, clay pigeon shooting, famous brush walk to enjoy the resident bats & much more.
Shared camp kitchen available with gas oven/stove & some pots, pans, plates, utensils etc. Camp kitchen has table & chairs & wash-up facilities with tank water.
Outside Solar shower bag also set up where you can gaze at the sky above but private so modesty is protected!
We have two full dams that host our 3 ducks, free range chooks (collect your own fresh eggs daily-not available in winter), 4 guinea fowl a couple of farm cats & awesome birds-Rainbow Lorikeets, King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas and Kookaburras. We also have a couple of swamp hen families. A number of fruit bats from Wingham brush reach us most nights at dusk. We have also seen an owl near the chicken coop & if you're lucky you may spot the kangaroos in the paddock.
We welcome tents, campervans, trailer tents and caravans but you need to provide your own drinking water- outside solar shower is available that can be filled up at the rainwater tank by the camp kitchen.
NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET FACILITIES WITH HOLDING TANK
The Paddock suits all vehicles- Max 3 parties at once.
We also have more private spot Woodland Area which suits just one party but vehicle access is a couple of mins walk and further to the camp kitchen.
Fires allowed but only in contained firepits and off ground. We currently have 3 firepit presently to use at your own site (must be kept off ground on bricks provided). Fires not allowed during total fire bans
Take your camping chairs to the edge of 1 of 2 dams and watch our pet ducks.
Pets on leashes are welcome.

Fantastic place to get away from all the hustle and bustle we call life, have been here multiple times now loved it each time! This is our go to place for a getaway, Jacci & her husband are extremely accomidating and so pleasantly nice they make the experience that much nicer, would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and doesnt mind some furry and feathered friends walking around their camp site. Oh and also there's a pool!

First booking with Hipcamp so I was a little apprehensive. But everything went smoothly and the accommodation was great. We had a cabin right next to the playground and the pool so it was perfect for our kids. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.

What a beautiful property, beautifully maintained, clean, tidy, very friendly hosts, the donga was very nice and the big verandah was very handy as we had other family members with small children camping with us, this made meal time outside very nice. I would recommend this property to anyone. The fishing was good too.

We loved staying in the church, it is simply unique and swimming in the pristine river so refreshing! Graham and Chris are so lovely and very hospitable, little touches such as vases of fresh home grown flowers and herbs make it special! The bucket shower is the best!! Dinner cooked over an open fire was delicious.

We absolutely loved our stay at the treehouse. Sophie was an amazing host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodation was immaculate and beautifully appointed. We normally camp so it was wonderful to be totally “off-grid” but with the luxury of electricity, hot showers, a flushing toilet, comfy furniture to relax in, and even Starlink - what a rare find! We did almost everything on Sophie’s suggested activities - 4WD’ing, swimming & kayaking along the pristine river, the breathtaking drive out to Ellenborough falls, and we even had a bonfire. The kids loved the flying fox and all the friendly animals - they loved the al pacas, played with the dogs, patted the cows, fed the horses and chooks and collected delicious fresh eggs every morning. The full farmstay experience. We can’t wait to come back again - thanks Sophie!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Top Cabin
I went on a trip to Sharon’s beautiful home and was very pleased, unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to severe weather and needing to return home. The location is perfect for a hiker or nature lover just a few mins from Elands town. It was a beautiful little cabin nestled in nature. Sharon was friendly, flexible and very attentive to any questions or queries.
Admittedly we took a wrong turn on the way there and after contacting her for best way to get back on track she was waiting at the front to welcome us. With a scenic cabin and amazing host would definitely recommend

Stunning location and close to world class wilderness and natural beauty. The Shearing Shed has everything you could ever need, very cosy.
Louise was very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. She is very knowledgable about local history, and natural history also, and the shed is replete with printed information and maps.

Graham and Chris were very welcoming and checked in on us every day to make sure we had everything we needed ; even bringing us beautiful mandarins from their garden and worms to fish with! The river was a nice place to have a swim and skim some rocks. We will definitely be back. Thank you

2 nights at Manning River Retreat
Chris and Graham were so hospitable. Chris met us with organic tomatoes from her garden and Graham checked in daily to ensure we had what we needed.
The church itself is amazing and very comfortable. The river is a 5--10 minute walk away and we headed down each morning for a delicious swim.
However our absolute favourite was sitting by the fire under the stars at night. We were blessed to have amazing weather whilst we were there.
I would thoroughly recommend staying in the church, it's an amazing experience.
I did overlook the fact that no power means no plugs to charge a phone, and I hadn't bought a battery pack. However, Graham kindly showed us where we could use some power sockets up near their house.

Plenty of room to spread out at Paul's camping area. Lovely clean communal kitchen & bathroom. We really enjoyed our short stay and hope to go back sometime. Our dog really enjoyed the off leash stay as well. Paul is a really great host with lots of local knowledge of what to do in the area.

Weekend Trip to The Top Place
I loved staying at Meredith’s land, it was beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was cute and had a few camping spots scattered around. The spot was close to a lot of the local towns, restaurants, beaches and national parks, very spoilt for choice. Meredith was very knowledgeable of the local area and provided some great recommendations.
