Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food.
Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland.

Brooman is less than 30 minutes drive to some of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast. Shallow Crossing is 10 minutes to the south. North is Pigeon House car park, Yadboro and the base of The Castle. To the West there are hundreds of kilometres of Forestry and National Park roads through some of the most spectacular forested mountain country east of the Coastal Range.
The Clyde River Berry Farm is just minutes down the road. Local fish and chips, great coffee and handmade bread is 25mins drive at Burrill Lake. Some of the best restaurants and bars on the coast are less than 40 minutes drive at Milton and Mollymook.

We enjoyed our night in the bell tent and waking up to sounds of the lyrebirds! My boys loved riding in the wheeled cart provided to help us get our gear up the small hill from our car. there were other campers on the property but as each campsite is on a different level of the escarpment- like a terrace- it was still private. Ian was friendly, welcoming and responsive and we also enjoyed the hot tub add-on! Only 7 minutes into town and close to a golf course that my partner enjoyed.

Weekend Trip to Glamping Around An Ancient Tree
Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The space was clean, quiet and private with a gorgeous vista, and the beautiful ancient tree. I saw kangaroos, ducks and many beautiful birds. It felt very grounding and restorative. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable nature escape.

Weekend Trip to Mellows Ridge
Beautiful, quiet spot. The host was lovely and he really had thought of everything, from a spa, to providing firewood, even added a sensor light to the bathroom for night time. Could come and go as we pleased and had the whole place to ourselves.
Bed was comfy, no complaints at all.

My partner, our dog and I had an amazing time at Angie’s property. The dome tent and camp site had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. There was a fire place inside the dome tent which was kept things nice and cozy. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook. And the hot shower was a great bonus. Town was only an 10 min drive away and easy to get to for a pub dinner. Overall this was a beautiful peaceful stay and we will definitely be back again!

We had such a beautiful time here. The best spot for some R&R! Surrounded by beautiful bush land and a good spot for a swim in the river right out the front.
The cabin was nice and cosy and the indoor fireplace was such a bonus. All of the kitchen essentials were provided which was great so we could pack lightly!

2 nights at Scribbly Gum secluded bush camping
I spent a beautiful and peaceful few days at the River Shack. The Shack was super tidy and well organised, right on the banks of the river. I had a family of wombats, amazing birdlife and 2 platypus for company! It was totally serene - a fantastic place to escape and recharge.

1 night at Stary Ponds
This camp was beautiful. Surrounded by trees and under the stars, this is a really perfect spot if you want to get away for a couple nights and get into nature. The camp site is perfect with fire pit, table, toilet, even spare camp chairs, tea and kettle and bbq. If you’re looking to try camping out this is the spot to go. You can turn up and have most everything you need in the bush. If you’re an experienced camper looking for a night or two away, it’s a great little spot not too far from Goulburn (about 10 mins). The drive in itself was even beautiful I spotted a kangaroo, a wombat, possum and a deer!
Mya couldn’t be more friendly, welcoming and helpful, I was sent home with a beautiful pumpkin from her garden :)
The tent itself is great, comfy and clean. I did forget my sleeping bag though, if you visit in winter, extra blankets won’t go astray as it gets chilly. The stay was made even more sweet by Jedi their pup patrolling the perimeter and coming in to say hello throughout the evening. I would absolutely recommend staying here, perfect spot for a little getaway and getting back to nature. I travelled on my own from Sydney and finding Myas spot was a total blessing. I will be returning :) thank you again xx

We really loved camping here. The tree is stunning, the view is beautiful and the dome and land around it were amazing. It was a real treat having a proper bed and a hot shower. Kids loved sleeping in their tents under the tree. We will be back. The area is stunning, we really loved it.

Beautiful setting and quiet. The camp kitchen and bathroom facilities were a winner as well as the size of the tent. It fit our family of four perfectly. The only downside for us was the cold overnight. The tent got very chilly inside.
During summer and spring months it would be perfect. Perhaps a little more challenging to stay warm during the colder months. But if you don’t mind cold you’ll be fine!

Beautiful spot and we will be back again I’m sure. My wife and toddler stayed in the dome which was incredibly comfortable and perfect for them. My older kids and I camped out next to the dome. It was perfect for a lazy couple of days as a family, enjoying being out of the city and in a really comfortable environment. Have warm shower available plus a toilet for the kids made things just a bit easier. We brought all our own gear but there was enough cooking gear available that we could have travelled lighter. Highly recommend. Thanks Angie!

Love everything about our long weekend at the Dome. The whole family had a wonderful time, relaxing, enjoying the area, time by the fire pit together. We had a fantastic stay at Scribbly Gum Shack! The shack is in a beautiful location overlooking the river. Equip with all the basics, we had a perfect weekend ‘camping’ without having to worry about bringing any gear other than linen, food and drinks. Phil’s communication and hospitality were awesome throughout the whole experience. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

Phil’s place by the Mongarlowe River is a great place to relax and enjoy some tranquility. The river is really beautiful and the tracks around the property provide for a nice walk if you want to stretch your legs. Definitely recommend.
