Drachenbau Farm in Texas

Host Walter Stewart says:

Started in 2010 when the owner decided to 'buy the farm'. Prior to that, the farm had sat empty and unused for almost 30 years. Since purchasing, clearing and cleanup have been major on-going tasks. Current and future activities include gardens, chickens, cows, on-site canning and butchering, bee-keeping, and construction of barns, houses, and fences.

The owners have extensive experience in all aspects of off-grid living, historical techniques, and have travelled widely to almost every corner of the globe. They are active in widely diverse groups such as MENSA, SCA, and several other historical re-enactment/restoration activities.

Depending on when you visit, you may watch or participate in activities ranging from tagging cattle, canning produce, collecting eggs, jerky production, or even sausage making!
