Sleepy Acres is a wonderful spot tucked away in the trees! Titus was a wonderful host. He and the Kitties and sheep greeted me when I arrived. His farm is a special spot for a quiet camping experience! There were many birds to enjoy in the morning before departing. I hope to make it back again!

What a wonderful cabin! We only stayed one night as we passed through town and it rained the whole time. But as cabins go, to wait out storms or to rest comfortably, Titus's is top notch. We particularly enjoyed the small woodstove!

Titus responded very fast to questions and the property is immaculate. We were right next to a horse pasture and the sound of the fountain at night was all we could hear. The cell service was good enough to use a hotspot for streaming. All around wonderful place to stay.

Very peaceful camping trip on titus' sheep farm. The 2 cabins and 2 tent sites are private no matter which one you choose. I would recommend this to anyone looking for some peaceful and private camping

Weekend Trip to Cattail Springs

I mistakenly booked a site that was meant for an RV but Cole helped us figure all out. We camped out a primitive site camp he has called the cattail cove. This site couldn’t have been better for my family and I. We felt secluded, with plenty of privacy. The site had enough space for all of our needs and more. This campsite does not have portable water, electricity or bathrooms. But it does have for a great time in front of the glistening water and fire pit. The site has plenty shade and is mostly quiet. There is a train you’ll hear but it isn’t bothersome. I feel like it adds to the experience. Be ready for gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Plus, this is a Great spot for stargazing. It was awesome to get away from the city life in a spot with gas stations and fast food restaurants nearby it needed. Cole was friendly and extremely helpful. He’s was the best host ever.

My friend and I loved the night we spent at Earl&Lisa’s. It was our first night on the road and we planned to camp in our small tent in their garden, but there was a storm & hail coming. They offered us to stay in the camper since there wasn’t anyone in it, and even to come in the house if it started to be really windy or dangerous (we were under a tornado alert). They were so kind and helpful, I highly recommend to stay there, the little lake and the big garden were really cute! Thank you again :))

Beautiful farm with horses and great sky views at night. Dave is very nice and attentive if you need anything. The bathroom is an extremely clean Porto Pottie with handwashing station and sanitizer. Definitely would stay again!

1 night at Sleek Acres

Me and my fiancé went tent camping here at site #1 and it was wonderful. They have a pond near all the sites and there’s a little sitting area with chairs in the sand to watch the ducks and fish. They also have chickens by the property. The outhouse was very clean and spacious, and was a short walk from our campsite. Lisa had shown us where we were staying and was super friendly and helpful! If I’m in the area again, we will definitely be camping here! 10/10 camping experience all around :-)

We’ve stayed at Sleek Acres twice now and it’s been such an amazing experience. Earl & Lisa are very welcoming and attentive. Their property is beautiful and their dog and ducks are welcoming too. Campsite 1 was where we stayed at. It’s near the other sites as well as the bathroom but it still has privacy to it. We highly recommend camping here!

4 nights at Celtic Glen Farm Stay

Lessie and Phil are great hosts that communicate very well. The quarry entrance site was just right for our 48' rig, but an experienced driver is a must for parking and turning around with such a large rig. We enjoyed golden hour views over the stone henge and campfires in their stone fire rings. We recommend Cataract Falls to the north and McCormick's Creek State Park's water fall and lodge dining to the south. Out east part way to Bloomington is Phat Daddy's BBQ and Jiffy Treat's homemade ice cream right next door. All very affordable. Be sure to checkout Spencer with its train tracks running right beside the courthouse. An hour south is a fun underground boat ride at Blue Spring Caverns Park. Be sure to stop by Better Than Mama's Bakery stand between Speser and Elletsville for delicious self serve sourdough goodies.

This was our very 1st hipcamp stay and Camp Ames set the standard so high. We so loved the picturesque surroundings, the sounds of nature and pure peacefulness of the place. The owners communicated well and were very gracious for having us stay in their property. If we are in the area again, we’ll definitely stay here. Many thanks, Wayde and Beth!!!

Very hospitable and kind hosts. Titus went out of the way to make sure our stay was comfortable. My kids enjoyed playing with the kittens and watching the chickens and sheep. We couldn’t stay very long but we would love to come back and swim in the pond next trip.

1 night at Walnut Valley Realm Campground

What a great spot. The Cul de Sac is definitely a more remote site but I came out to do some hiking so that was exactly what I was looking for. The trails were well maintained, even with soggy weather and I found a few other sites I'd like to spend a few nights at next. Clean sites, beautiful property and if I'd had any questions I have no doubt Brian would have had an answer.

1 night at ♥ Uncle Bob's Backwoods Preserve

Taylor's site is as-advertised, is in a quiet but convenient location to the Indy/Noblesville region and was everything we needed. Taylor was great on communication and went above and beyond the call of duty when our van got stuck in soft earth from recent heavy rains in the area: he pulled us out with his truck and gave us a dozen fresh eggs from his chickens for the trouble!

The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. There are hungry catfish and bass in the pond who are always happy to be fed (we provide the fish food). Fishing is allowed, but catch and release only (under 12"), please! A small group of ducks live on the pond and will happily greet you as you walk to the beach. Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. With one of those properties we used the well and septic and built camp sites to entertain our friends and family. Mississinewa Resevoir: Located 3 miles from Camp Ames Mississinewa Lake is a seasonal resevoir designed for flood control. That said, depending on rainfall during the summer, many recreational activities are available. Swimming at the beach, boating, and fishing. A nice campground and hiking are also on site. Nickel Plate Trail: Located 2.9 miles from Camp Ames This asphalt trail is one of the best in the State to ride or walk on!!! It keeps getting better because the trail keeps getting extended with more pathway added. The volunteers do a superb job up keeping this 50 mile path. Make this a to do for a beautiful Fall ride once the leaves begin to change. You'll be immersed in intense colors and wonderful woodsy sights and smells. Seven Pillars: Located 0.8 miles from Camp Ames This breathtaking formation along the Mississinewa River was created over the centuries as wind and water eroded the limestone, carving rounded buttresses and alcoves into the north bluff of the river. Seven Pillars Nature Preserve - Acres Land Trust - Located 0.3 miles from Camp Ames! This preserve on the south side of the Mississinewa River is named after the landmark 25-foot limestone pillars, also owned by ACRES, which are located on the north side of the river. On top of the bluff grow red cedar, Juneberry and shadbush. In the preserve are beech, maple and other trees, as well as open meadow. The Miami Nation continues to gather at the pillars. The preserve is 148 acres of woods open to the public to walk the woods. There is 1.8 miles of trail. PRESERVE RULES: As a preserve visitor, you are responsible for keeping these habitats undisturbed. Currently growing 125 varieties of apples, which throughout the season are available for u-pick or already picked. Beginning Labor Day Weekend, ride the tractor and trolley through the Orchard, for tours and apple picking. Toward the end of September through October, the trolley will stop in the pumpkin patch for u-pick. There is no parking or admission fee, and no charge for the ride through the Orchard. More than apples and pumpkins, there’s a playground area and petting zoo for the kids (and the kiddos at heart). During September and October, saddle up a horse, and take a horse ride on the weekends for $1. On most weekends, there’s live music; so, be sure to check the website to see who is playing and which day. McClure’s has a café serving delicious food, made fresh daily. Named after the daughter of JR and Marla Dennis of Kokomo. Preslie Lynn Dennis passed from injuries sustained in a car accident on June 22, 2018. She was just short of her 18th birthday and ready to leave for boot camp to serve our country in the United States Army having already served in the National Guard. This multi-talented young lady left us all heart broken. Preslie Meadow lets her memory and beauty live on.

This unique destination offers daily, weekly, and seasonal rentals for RV sites, cottages, and tent sites, making it the perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. The new ownership team is dedicated to revitalizing the park, and significant upgrades have already been made. The beach has been extended with fresh sand, and the beach bar and restaurant are now open for guests to enjoy. Our office now offers carryout beer, alcohol, Dippin’ Dots, and convenience store items. Currently, 29 cabins are available for rent, with 12 having undergone complete renovations. Additionally, a new boat ramp and piers have been installed, along with 21 covered boat lifts available for rent, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the park. While the two-story banquet hall remains closed and boarded up, plans for future renovations are in the works. Over the next few years, we aim to renovate more cottages, with 12 already updated.
